Do you have a passion for working with children and young people? Do you want to gain hands-on experience in youth and children’s ministry while receiving high-quality training? 

As an apprentice, you will work within a parish to develop and strengthen its children and youth ministry while studying with Ridley London. This three-year apprenticeship leads to a Certificate in Higher Education (Level 4) in Foundations in Theology, Ministry and Mission, with a focus on youth and children’s work. 

You’ll be employed for 21 hours per week, spending 16 hours in the parish and 5 hours studying. Applicants must apply with a linked parish.  

What You’ll Be Doing: 

• Engaging with children and young people, building positive relationships and supporting their faith journey.
• Helping to lead activities such as Sunday school, messy church, youth groups, and holiday clubs.
• Creating and delivering new initiatives to deepen young people’s involvement in the church.
• Developing outreach work with local schools and community groups.
• Leading discipleship courses for young people.
• Assisting with administration related to children’s and youth work.
• Attending regular team meetings, supervision sessions, and training as part of the apprenticeship.

Who We’re Looking For: 

• Experience in youth and children’s work (voluntary or paid) or community learning and development.
• GCSE/NVQ Level 2 qualifications, or a commitment to achieving these within the first year.
• A willingness to commit to a three-year apprenticeship, combining study, training, and hands-on experience.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to engage and inspire young people.
• Self-motivated and enthusiastic, able to work both independently and as part of a team.
• A commitment to safeguarding and creating a safe environment for children and young people.

LSESU is looking for a dynamic and proactive Sports Coordinator to join our Sports and Recreation team. As the primary point of contact, you will offer support and guidance to Sports Clubs and the Athletics Union (AU), empowering student leaders to create an outstanding experience for all members.
 

In this role, you’ll coordinate and develop Sports Clubs with a strong focus on inclusivity, health and safety, and the effective planning of fixtures, activities, and events. You’ll manage the logistics behind BUCS and LUSL fixtures, as well as plan and oversee Sports Club showcases, trips, and other major events.

About the Youth Endowment Fund 

We’re here to prevent children from becoming involved in violence. We do this by finding out what works and building a movement to change things.  

In recent years, violent crime involving children has increased. This is a tragedy. Every child is an important member of our community and society has a duty to protect them.

The Youth Endowment Fund (YEF) is a charity with a £200m endowment that exists to reverse this trend. We will achieve this by finding out what works to prevent youth violence and building a movement to put this knowledge into practice. We do this by funding, evaluating and then spreading the very best work on reducing youth violence across England and Wales. 

Key Responsibilities 

Your focus will be to ensure that the office environment at YEF is a welcoming and inclusive one, being the first point of contact for new starters, employees and external stakeholders. You will be dedicated, in ensuring that the office environment is set up for employees to have a positive, collaborative and engaging experience while working from the office. Office Management 

Ensure the physical and virtual spaces in which we work at YEF are excellently managed and a welcoming place to work. This would include: 

• Being a strong and personable office lead. Be welcoming to colleagues new and old and make an ongoing effort to integrate them into the team. 

• Ensuring that the office space is well managed including well stocked office supplies and refreshments. 

• Leading monthly social team activities that foster a sense of belonging. 

• Ensuring we have the systems to make collaboration really easy, liaising directly with our IT supplier and pointing out areas of improvement or discussing how things can be done better. 

HR administration 

Help ensure that projects related to HR or supporting people are done brilliantly. This may require you getting stuck in with some administrative tasks or keeping track of who needs to do what by when. 

• Helping to organise the annual appraisal of staff (setting up and collecting in forms and making sure everyone knows what’s going on) so that everyone learns and develops. 

• Making sure the online system we use for employee records is up to date, well organised and that someone technical fixes things if needed.

• Ensuring that the policies we have (on things like pay, holidays, being in the office etc). are easy for staff to find and that someone is prompted to remind staff about them regularly. 

• Coming to know our staff policies inside out, so that staff can go to you to get a question answered.

• Supporting the administration of the end-to-end recruitment process, such advertising jobs online, arranging interviews, managing candidate correspondences and the keeping up to date records. 

• Assisting in the first phase of CV reviews (spotting great people).

General administration 

Make sure some of most important meetings are incredibly effective. You’ll do this by

JOB SUMMARY

The postholder will provide outreach services within the community to provide emotional and practical support to young women and girls who have been subject to domestic abuse and sexual abuse or exploitation in order to meet their immediate needs, reduce risk and work towards long term safety and security.

This may also include young women and girls who have been involved in the sex industry or gang involvement. She will inform them of all the sources of help available to them and to facilitate their access to other support services, where it is appropriate.

She will enable access to age appropriate and age effective group work and to support the development of preventative workshops delivered to young women and girls.

MAIN DUTIES

· To provide non-judgemental, one to one emotional and practical support to young women and girls (YW&G) aged 13-25, who have suffered domestic abuse and/or sexual abuse/exploitation.

· To engage YW&G in effective one to one support designed to meet their individual needs.

· To signpost YW&G on to other appropriate agencies and support mechanisms that will help them successfully move forward.

· Complete risk assessments and develop risk management plans to address the risk of harm.

· Undertake safety planning with YW&G to reduce levels of risk.

· Complete needs assessments and individual support plans with the YW&G to ensure their emotional and practical support needs are being met.

· To empower YW&G who have been victims of domestic/sexual abuse/exploitation to take control of their lives and make their own decisions.

· To assist YW&G to access relevant services and agencies within their local area such as housing, counselling, debt, legal advice, health, training, education and support groups.

· To refer service users onto other support services available in Pathway, if appropriate e.g. counselling, legal clinics.

· To work with other services within Pathway Project to deliver the most effective support possible.

· To work in partnership with other agencies and to advocate for YW&G to ensure their needs are being met.

· To advocate on behalf of YW&G, accompanying them to appointments, if appropriate, and ensuring that their wishes and feelings regarding the provision of those services has been taken into account.

· To help develop a programme of group work for YW&G looking at issues such as sexual exploitation, sexting, revenge porn, social media, grooming, healthy relationships and substance misuse.

You will provide Early Help Support for Adults facing multiple disadvantages via the ‘Bringing Service Together for People in Places’ (BST PiP) programme for Manchester and the national Changing Futures programme.  Your role will be to work directly with adults liaising with linked agencies and services in the community to improve outcomes. Your will need a collaborative, trauma-responsive and person-centred approach to achieve this.  You will identify blocks and barriers within existing systems and find solutions to make wider and transformational change locally. We put the involvement of people with lived experience of multiple disadvantages at the heart of delivering this service and in co-production of future delivery.

You will need experience of delivering frontline services, supporting adults from diverse backgrounds with multiple and complex needs and/or multiple disadvantages. You will need to demonstrate a good understanding of Manchester based services and community assets, be able to represent Shelter externally and have an appreciation of the barriers and personal difficulties faced by people accessing local services. Proactive, creative, and collaborative in your approach, you will have great relationship building skills, a flair for leading change and the confidence to challenge the status quo.  You will also have demonstrable experience of working with volunteers and co-production to make decisions.

About the role:

This role is based at either our Preston or Accrington Office. After six months probation you will be eligible to apply for hybrid working. All travel costs to and from appointments from your office base will be reimbursed.

Your purpose

To lead professional development and school improvement programmes facilitating the Voice 21 approach in our Voice 21 Oracy Schools by delivering our high impact learning experiences and materials for teachers and school leaders. To be part of the team, designing and reviewing programme content.

Your responsibilities

Quality programme delivery

• Lead high quality professional development and school improvement programmes in our Pathway programmes and Open Learning for groups of teachers. These may be delivered in person, online or in school. 

• Deliver transformative consultancy support, working with teachers and school leaders to design and implement bespoke improvement plans for their oracy provision, including through in school and online consultancy support, and one-to-one advice.

• Build credibility and purposeful relationships with programme participants, both at programme days and touchpoints, and on an on-going basis to drive impact in our schools.

• Be responsible for participant learning and experience on your programmes, upholding high standards for all elements such as preparation, adapting to participant needs, content and rigour, on-going interactions and support, and participant feedback.

Learning content & programme development

• Proactively share insights and learning from the programmes you deliver, proposing and shaping solutions to enable Voice 21 to continually improve its programme offer.

• Apply and share expertise through varied outputs such as teaching materials, online learning content, resources, written or video outputs. Proactively identify and respond to opportunities or gaps and fulfil briefs or commissions. 

• Contribute to the continual improvement of Voice 21’s programmes, through development and review cycles, based on first-hand learning from our schools, content expertise, programme insights and external research and evidence. 

Team and organisational contribution

• Act as an ambassador for Voice 21’s national oracy expertise, communicating the value and impact of our approach at conferences, events and through publications.

• Embody and communicate oracy teaching and learning expertise within the organisation, acting as a resource for the wider team and making contributions to organisational priorities, projects, campaigns and events, outputs and publications etc. 

• Continually and proactively develop your own and others’ expertise in Voice 21’s approach to a high quality oracy education, and use this to leverage impact for our schools through tangible learning outputs.

• Identify and carry out other tasks commensurate to the level and spirit of the role as required.

Your experience

• You are an excellent teacher (primary or secondary)

• You are passionate about teaching and learning, and the role of talk in learning. You have used talk to support learning in your classroom.

• You have experience leading whole-school change and inspiring teachers to embrace new approaches and ideas.

• You have a knowledge of a range of speaking and listening techniques and contexts for oracy, these could include: debate, dialogic teaching, storytelling, public speaking or communication and language development. 

• You are a strong communicator both when working in a small team and when facilitating learning for large groups of adults. 

• You are flexible, can think on your feet and can bring your own experiences to the work we do.

• You are highly-organised, look for solutions and can prioritise and manage a varied workload. 

• You are enthusiastic, willing to learn and feel you would be energised by our mission. If you do not fully meet all the above criteria, but are happy to work towards developing into the role, we would be happy to consider your application.

• You are willing to travel nationally on a frequent basis (2-3 days a week) during term time; this will include regular overnight stays.

We are currently looking for a Specialist Black & Minoritised Communities Independent Domestic Violence Advocate.

Successful candidates must be able to demonstrate knowledge, expertise and previous experience working with Black & Minoritised victims of domestic abuse including intersectional barriers, honor based violence & forced marriage.

The role is full-time working 37.5 hours per week and offered on a hybrid basis working between our London office and home.

About the role:

As a Independent Domestic Violence Advocate you will be:

• You may be a qualified IDVA or a Domestic Abuse Outreach Worker wanting to develop your work for Black & Minoiritised victims of domestic abuse as part of our BMC team.
• Implement effective ways of working with victims and those supporting them to increase safety and reduce harm.
• Provide a high-quality, front-line service to victims of domestic abuse, delivering a premium service prioritised according to risk, primarily focusing on victim/survivors aged 16+
• Work within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership responses to domestic abuse to keep safety central to all services for victims of domestic abuse.

You will need:

• To be comfortable with running group training sessions and be willing and able to share your specialist knowledge with acute stakeholders..
• Have excellent communication skills, a proactive approach and the confidence to be able to influence the way in which this service is delivered are key.
• Have a knowledge of help-seeking intersectional barriers and the support needs of BMC idenified victims of domestic abuse (in heterosexual or same-sex relationships).
• Have a good understanding of domestic abuse including the impact of domestic abuse on victims and their children.
• Understand the principles of risk assessment, safety planning and risk management for victims of domestic abuse and their children
• Understand safeguarding issues, and the legal responsibilities surrounding these issues.
• Direct service delivery to victims of domestic abuse or other vulnerable people.
• Have excellent communication, negotiation and advocacy skills, both written and verbal when interacting with a range of agencies and individuals. Understand and be committed to equal opportunities and diversity issues in policy and practice.
• Have a strong crisis management skills and the ability to deal with stressful and difficult situations.
