Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer, yet historically just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease. Brain Tumour Research is determined to change this. 

Their vision is to find a cure for all types of brain tumours. To achieve their mission, they are looking for a Head of Philanthropy and Partnerships to lead the high value function, including income from major donors, corporate partners, and trusts and grants. The P&P team also encompasses volunteering and relationships held with the family of member charities.  

There is currently an interim Head of P&P in place until August to ensure progress continues towards the income ambition, and to support the team.  

The P&P function is on a journey, much work has been done to embed effective processes and a consistent approach to pipelining. There has been much improvement so far, but there remains a lot of scope for the incoming Head to shape the team, define areas of focus and ways of working.  

The team have had significant success this year, especially in the corporate partnerships space, so there is energy and enthusiasm to harness. There are exciting opportunities for high value fundraising connected to the launch of new Centres of Excellence across the UK, and some key events in the calendar such as a major donor dinner in September.  

This role would suit an experienced fundraiser across major donor or corporate income streams. You will have led a team before, and have experience of designing and delivering fundraising strategies.  

This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to come into a team that is on the right path, but needs a confident Head of to ensure the team works in the most effective way, and to provide support and guidance to the team.

The North West England Methodist District (NWED) is seeking to appoint a District Property Secretary. The role is home-based, with travel throughout the District. They will be the first point of contact on all matters relating to property and will work in collaboration with the churches and circuits within the District, providing oversight of the properties owned by the District. The post holder will give support and assistance to a range of stakeholders on property-related matters, in the context of Methodist Church governance.

We are commissioned to carry out Quality Checks of support services where people with a disability or mental ill health live, including Supported Living settings, Residential Homes, Day Services, Assessment and Treatment units and individual homes. The purpose of the Quality Checks is to ensure that people who live in these settings are safe, and living healthy, happy and meaningful lives and that the support they receive is appropriate to their needs.

All our Quality Checks involve a Quality Checker (an Expert by Experience) with lived experience of disability or mental ill health working alongside a Quality Checking Coordinator.  On visits, we talk with people living in these settings to gather information regarding their quality of life and the quality of care and support they have.

The Coordinator’s role is to organise the checks and facilitate them on the day, whilst the Expert by Experience asks most of the questions. The Coordinator is responsible for compiling all the information gathered during the Quality Check and producing a report which is shared with the Provider and Commissioners. The Coordinator also has line management responsibility for a small number of the quality checkers on the team.

As part of this role, you will also provide floating coordination support for a range of other projects.

Hours and pay:

Hours: 26 hours per week

Pension: IG operates the NEST pension scheme and will contribute 3% subject to qualifying status

Salary: FTE (£29,444.46) pro rata, or £15.10 per hour.

Location: Railway House, Bruton Way, Gloucester, GL1 1DG and offsite at locations across and occasionally outside of Gloucestershire.  There is the opportunity to work flexibly from home when not engaged in onsite visits.

Are you a young Christian who is passionate about issues of justice and peace? Do you want to explore the intersection of faith, policy, and politics, and potentially pursue a career in one of these fields? The Joint Public Issues Team (JPIT) is recruiting to two full time paid internship positions: one focused on Communications (to start as soon as possible) and the other on supporting local churches to build relationships with their MPs (to start in September 2025).

You would be working as part of a small ecumenical team on a diverse range of tasks and initiatives including communications, policy, campaigning and supporter engagement, contributing to the public advocacy and political engagement work of the Baptist, Methodist and United Reformed Churches.

About JPIT 

JPIT is a partnership between the Baptist Union of Great Britain, the Methodist Church and the United Reformed Church, and the Church of Scotland is an associate partner. Its purpose is to help the Churches to work together for peace and justice through listening, learning, praying, speaking and acting on public policy issues. It is a team which brings together around ten staff working across the denominations. In recent years it has focused on issues around poverty, the economy, refugees and migration, the environment, peace and conflict, and politics.

The Internships

These internships provide opportunities to develop skills in campaigning, communications, research, and policy within a dynamic team environment. There will be opportunities for professional and personal learning and development to equip the intern for further employment after their time on the internship. Whilst we are looking for some evidence of certain skills and experience, candidates will have the opportunity to develop relevant skills during their time in the role.

These are full time paid roles with fixed-term contracts to the end of August 2026, and a salary of £25,513 per annum (we are committed to paying at least the London Living Wage).

The Office Manager role is crucial to our very busy and friendly office of 14 people and is incredibly varied and interesting. The role requires someone to be friendly, flexible and adaptable, with strong communication skills, a hands-on attitude and the willingness and initiative to work with the whole team doing a variety of different tasks to achieve a common goal. You will be highly organised and be prepared to take on information in many forms and quickly translate this into action. You will be comfortable working with deadlines and priorities, managing your own workload and the expectations of others.  It is an incredibly rewarding role for someone who has the passion and commitment to help the Foundation address inequalities and to tackle poverty and inequality at a local level. No two days will be the same.

- You will need excellent communication skills, as you will often be the first point of contact for all enquiries, including grant applicants donors, and room bookings.

- You will support the fundraising and programmes team with running events and resident panels.

- You will be responsible for ensuring that the building is safe, well maintained and accessible to all staff, tenants and visitors, including sourcing and managing contractors.

- You will support the finance and fundraising teams with data entry and reporting, purchasing and reconciliations.

Job purpose

• Through mystery shopping, call listening and other activities, ensure all activity, by agency partners and relevant internal teams, is compliant with regulation, codes of practice and NSPCC policies.
• Monitor campaign performance and income, ensuring that campaign KPIs and metrics are reported accurately and consistently.
• Monitor expenditure, including financial processes such as raising POs, checking invoices and reporting against budgeted expenditure figures.
• Work with data, including checking data selections for telephone activity.
• Work effectively with other departments within Individual Giving, Communications and Fundraising Directorates and other functions within the NSPCC to maximise income for children. Also working with external agencies to deliver large scale campaigns.
• Work as part of a larger team to meet the same objectives and work effectively with other teams within the NSPCC to maximise income for children.
• Working on behalf of stakeholders and representing brand values in the work that you produce. Being dynamic and a team player is essential.

Main duties and responsibilities

1. With the Associate Head of Direct Fundraising, agree and deliver face-to-face and telephone  direct fundraising activities in line with the Individual Supporters department’s annual business plan and budget to enable the NSPCC to plan its activity and services.
2. Work with the Associate Head to maximise the opportunities by which the fundraising activity can contribute to the NSPCC’s mission of fighting for every childhood over and above fundraising objectives.
3. Be responsible for the development of relationships and delivery of income from potential supporters engaged through face-to-face activity
4. Work with internal NSPCC support teams to set up new agencies and campaigns.
5. Keep up to date on best practice and developments within the charity sector generally and particularly changes to fundraising regulations, compliance and codes of practice relating to direct dialogue fundraising. Updating existing or creating new processes and working with agencies to implement changes in activity.
6. Work with internal compliance teams and external agencies to plan and implement a monitoring schedule in line with the most up to date codes of practice, guidance and regulations.  This should include regular mystery shopping and call listening.
7. To work with the Associate Head to maximise the opportunities by which the fundraising activity of the Direct Fundraising team can contribute to the NSPCC’s mission of ending cruelty to children over and above fundraising objectives.
8. To carry out research through a range of sources, including the Internet, Intranet, publications and other external contacts, including other charities, in order to obtain relevant information that can contribute to the fundraising activities of the Direct fundraising team.
9. To work cross-functionally to ensure that fundraising activities are managed and developed in a way that maximises income for the NSPCC.

• Reports to Associate Head – Direct Fundraising.
• A member of staff in the Direct Fundraising team, within the wider Individual Supporters department.
• Work with Compliance Team to mitigate risk and ensure compliance in face-to-face activity.
• Work with Finance Department to assist with reporting budget and reforecast all activity.
• Engage with staff in other NSPCC functions, as necessary to increase engagement between potential supporters and professional fundraisers to further fundraising relationships.

•  Work with a range of agreed agencies to engage the public through a supporter centric approach to fundraising, providing engaging content and materials, and ensuring that professional fundraisers align with our values and cause whilst maintaining high levels of compliance.
