The Eve Appeal is the UK’s leading charity working on prevention of the five gynaecological cancers – womb, ovarian, cervical, vulval and vaginal. Our aim is to prevent gynaecological cancers and save lives by raising awareness and funding ground-breaking research focused on risk prediction, earlier detection and developing screening for all of the five gynae cancers.

What's this role about?

This exciting position is responsible for delivering our fundraising programme to the public, with support from our Deputy Head of Fundraising.

You will focus on delivering key fundraising activities and an exceptional experience to a wide range of supporters, ensuring that you deepen relationships and maximise value. You will also coordinate and deliver the marketing of our public fundraising activity, alongside colleagues in communications and digital engagement.

The role works across three key areas:

• Individual giving (direct marketing, regular giving, in-memory)
• Sporting events & challenges (virtual challenges, running events, our annual bespoke trek)
• Community fundraising (campaigns, community groups, ad-hoc fundraisers)

We do not expect you to have experience across all three areas.

This role is also responsible for the line management of our Fundraising Assistant, who you will help to develop in their role and ensure all tasks are completed on time and to a high standard.

Person specification

To fulfil this role, we believe you will need the following skills and experiences:

We have a highly skilled team of 30 full-time employees in Malawi implementing this work, based out of two offices in the Northern Region. Our UK office in Bristol comprises a small fundraising and operations team of seven staff (two team members are full-time, all other team members are part-time), 3-5 regular volunteers and interns, and a wider family of volunteers and supporters.

Temwa UK has an experienced and high functioning board of Trustees who are very engaged. The board member who oversees the fundraising portfolio is very active, providing support to the Fundraising & Development Manager and the fundraising team as a whole.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

1. Managing the fundraising strategy and donor relations with oversight of the fundraising office

• Develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate the charity’s income generation strategy, ensuring targets are achieved.
• Align the fundraising strategy with the communications and marketing strategy.
• Act as the organizational expert on income generation, leading the team to expand all relevant fundraising streams.
• Maintain and enhance current income streams, including trust fundraising, corporate fundraising, high value donors, and individual giving.
• Maintain relationships with key donors and their specific requirements.
• Collaborate with the Programme Advisor and Programmes Director in Malawi to align community needs with donor priorities.
• Lead, research & review the opportunities to apply for institutional funding with the Programme Advisor.

2. Providing leadership to and managing the fundraising team

• Develop, coach, inspire, and motivate the team to achieve their objectives and grow their skills.
• Conduct regular one-to-ones with direct reports, ensuring effective performance management with timely appraisals.
• Ensure team members have clear work plans and objectives.
• Champion best practices in particular with use of the database, ensuring all legal and compliance standards are met and, where possible, exceeded in fundraising and marketing activities.
• Recruit key fundraising team members as needed.
• Support the fundraising team in designing and managing effective marketing and communications strategies.

3. Growing income streams

• Lead and manage all fundraising areas in the UK office, ensuring targets are met.
• Develop and manage comprehensive budgets, providing performance information to the Senior Management Team and Trustees.
• Ensure effective management of the donor journey for all contacts.
• Research and develop business cases for new income generation areas to drive sustainability.
• Implement and evaluate new income generation projects.

• Lead on all grant applications, including trust & foundation and institutional.

4. Senior management

• Collaborate with the management team to reach key audiences and achieve strategic goals.
• Provide strategic direction for fundraising and communications, nurturing team members to develop their skills.

Experience, Qualifications, and Requirements:

The ideal applicant would have the following attributes

· Experience of working in a senior fundraising role

· Certificate or diploma from the Institue of Fundraising or similar

· Track record of setting and achieving fundraising income targets

· Experience of managing people

· Experience of working within small and large NGOs or charities

· Ability to write compelling bids/business cases and reports

We have supported over 48,000 animals and built two dog shelters and one for disabled and senior cats. About the Operations and Facilities Assistant role

You will be responsible for leading and growing income via the charities Corporate Partnerships and Sporting Challenges. The ideal candidate will have high-level experience in corporate fundraising.

• Provide excellent account management to some of the charities existing and new corporate relationships.

Job Description:

· Recruit and coordinate Community/Maternity Champions volunteers to promote local health and wellbeing.

· Create engaging opportunities around local and national health campaigns for volunteer outreach in order to engage hard-to-reach communities

The Role 

As our Philanthropy Manager, reporting to the Head of Fundraising, you will identify and approach people who wish to invest in the advancement of worldwide research to find cures for cancer. You will grow Yorkshire Cancer Research’s portfolio of major donors and deliver exceptional levels of tailored engagement and stewardship. In doing this, you will contribute towards the charity’s ambition to secure significant income to achieve the charity's plans to save more lives in Yorkshire and beyond. 
 

Specifically, you will: 

• Develop and implement Yorkshire Cancer Research’s major donor fundraising strategy and plans. 

• Provide philanthropic individuals with the opportunity to fund research and services that will make a positive difference to people with cancer in Yorkshire, and beyond. 

• Closely listen to and understand individual’s interests and/or concerns and match their requirements to the charity’s research/services that are likely to be of greatest interest. 

• Develop a portfolio of potential major donors and create appropriate engagement opportunities* ensuring that these opportunities match the individual donor’s wants and needs. 
  (*These engagement opportunities may include events, communications, smaller dinners, and meetings with senior people at Yorkshire Cancer Research).   

• Provide a bespoke, professional customer experience to all contacts at all times.

• Work with colleagues (e.g. in the marketing and the events teams) to identify existing charity activities that may help attract and engage major donors. 

• Build a pipeline of major donor prospects who share the charity’s values and ambition to save lives by researching and trialling new ways to cure cancer. 

About You 

To be considered for this role, you will need: 

• A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline, or proven experience working in a similar role at a similar level. 

• To have experience of proactively approaching prospects and building long-term relationships, preferably with philanthropists or family foundations. 

• To have experience of researching individuals and using this insight to inform decision-making. 

• To have experience of working collaboratively and effectively in a matrix-management organisation. 

• To have experience of developing clear Key Performance Indicators and reporting performance against them.  

• To have experience of working with databases and CRM platforms (e.g. Access or Raiser’s Edge). 

• To enjoy working with, and supporting, colleagues as part of a team working towards a common goal.

• To be able to analyse and present data and information in a way that is helpful and actionable to others. 

• To have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with an ability to use active listening skills, and write professionally and appropriately for the audience.

Purpose of job

To play a key role within the Development Team to maximise the fundraising potential of the SS Great Britain Trust through a wide range of activities, with a particular focus on creating high quality fundraising applications and proposals, carrying out research, and maximising income from corporate partnerships.

This role requires a candidate who:

• Will develop new ideas and optimise opportunities to grow income across all income streams.
• Is able to manage a busy and varied workload.
• Will be motivated by raising funds and demonstrate an ability to skilfully manage relationships with supporters at all levels.
• Is keen to develop their existing fundraising skills in a small and committed team, focused on increasing income for an outstanding independent museum, educational charity, and leading visitor attraction in the centre of Bristol.

Main tasks

• Manage a portfolio of prospects and donors to ensure that they have a brilliant relationship with the Trust, are kept up-to-date with events and programmes, and are engaged to continue to support.
• With a particular focus on corporate fundraising, develop and deliver opportunities to grow income from companies through membership, sponsorship and events.
• Review, analyse, and report on income, working to agreed targets, helping to inform the strategy and deliver growth.
• Deliver events for the fundraising team including managing invitation lists, managing event budgets, developing event plans, briefing notes and planning post event activity.
• Provide excellent stewardship for all supporters, with a focus on thanking in new and innovate ways.
• In consultation with the Development Manager research potential new sources of income across all areas. Conduct research to support fundraising for projects, create briefing notes for events and meetings, and undertake other research as required, in line with GDPR and relevant charitable regulations.
• Create high quality and engaging fundraising materials to secure support including corporate partnership proposals, trust fundraising applications, member appeals and sponsorship bids.
• Produce high-quality written communications for supporters, with a particular focus on companies.
• Develop and implement processes to ensure that supporters are asked, thanked and reported to in timely way.
• Be a champion for the CRM database, recording and using data to maximise fundraising potential.
• Undertake other duties as can be reasonably required to assist in the smooth and efficient running of the Trust. Some weekend and out of hours working may be required.

We are looking for a part time Philanthropy Manager (28 hours) for an inspiring medical charity, to focus on growing income from the existing donor database in order to develop mid-level and High Net Worth Individuals programmes.

The Charity

The Role
Work closely with the Head of Fundraising and Communications to implement donor segmentation, build on supporter stewardship and appeal strategies for mid-level and high value individuals.

The Candidate

The role:
The Programme Manager will lead on all Programme Management activities to support the organisation’s work developing and delivering the Accelerating Reform Fund programe. Working under the strategic leadership of the Head of Innovation, they will ensure robust but agile programme management that enables the organisation to provide iterative and evolving support to a large portfolio of innovation projects in Social Care. With oversight from the Head of Innovation, they will also play a central role in designing, developing and delivering the programme of support, with a particular focus on scaling up social care innovation and supporting learning amongst projects.

The person:
The successful candidate will have substantial demonstrated experience of Project Management ideally in the Health and Social Care or Social Change Sectors. This person could also have been a social worker with experience of having run development projects. They will have knowledge of the Social Care Act and will be familiar with digital change, commissioning, co-production and communicating with local authority audiences, and will be able to partner effectively with decision makers and senior stakeholders in the Social Care sector. This person will also have designed and delivered programmes of improvement aimed at reforming quality and focus in Social Care in the UK. An accomplished partnership worker, having commissioned training and ideally will have worked on Social Care training and development programmes with lots of planning, budget management and national reach.

This role is fully remote, so the candidate can be based anywhere in the UK and will be part of a national team of 40 staff. The person will need to be able to travel to London for a monthly in person meeting, and across the country for some workshops approx. 6-8 times during the contract.

CW+ - Philanthropy Manager

Location: Hybrid working – 2/3 days a week in office in London, SW10 9HS.

CW+, the official charity of Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, is seeking an experienced and ambitious individual to shape and develop a portfolio of circa 80 donors and prospects and seek new potential donors to support their work.

Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is one of the top ranked and top performing healthcare Trusts in the UK, providing care to a community of over one million people across two hospital sites and twelve community clinics. The Trust is the fourth largest A&E provider in the UK, treating over 300,000 patients each year.

Over the last six years CW+ has grown its fundraising programme extensively and is now seeking a Philanthropy Manager to join their team at a crucial stage in their Thirty at Thirty major appeal – its ambitious programme to raise £30m to celebrate the Trust’s 30th birthday. This will be the largest fundraising drive in the charity’s history and a successful, effective team will be central to its success.

The role will be responsible for cultivating and securing gifts from existing and new high-value donors, with a focus on securing five and six figure donations.  The post-holder will initiate, foster and develop rich, long-term relationships with donors capable of giving transformational support to CW+ and develop and grow the current major giving pipeline and portfolio of major gifts from high net worth individuals.

As the portfolio is mixed in its development, it is important that this post holder can work with tenacity and resilience in an ever evolving landscape of relationships and opportunities, in close collaboration with the Chief Executive and the Director of Fundraising. The successful candidate must have a positive, pro-active, donor-centric approach to relationship fundraising and demonstrate proven success at securing major gift support from individuals and family trusts/foundations. Alongside excellent relationship and communication skills, candidates must be confident, resourceful and proactive, with initiative and a problem-solving disposition.
