To provide a comprehensive and efficient welfare benefits service to older people, carers and those they care for, in Tower Hamlets in order to maximise their income, undertaking welfare rights checks; providing information and advice; and supporting carers with applications for a range of benefits such as: Pension Credit; Housing Benefit/Council Tax Reduction; Carers Allowance; Attendance Allowance and Personal Independence Payments & Universal Credit. 

You will provide information, advice and support with applications for other benefits and services available to older people such as grants, blue badge applications etc. 

You will work at our hub, The Carers Centre and in the community to meet the needs of our clients, and promote the service amongst partners and colleagues. You will raise awareness of the rights of older people (who may be carers or cared for persons), developing partnerships across the borough in order to increase the identification and referrals of older carers or carers of older people. 

Employed by the Carers Centre and supervised by the Welfare Rights Manager, the post holder will be expected to work both alone and as part of a team.

We're seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Senior Practitioner for a Care Leaver service operating under the Ofsted Supported Accommodation Regulation. In this role, you will play a vital role in providing effective support to at risk young people with complex mental health, and support and coaching to staff.

Your mission: to support and empower young people to develop the lifelong tools they need to lead fulfilling lives outside of the confines of traditional services. You will provide leadership to the team around the support of their caseload and lead on multi-agency care meetings.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Communications Officer to join our team, based in London. The Senior Communications Officer role:

As our Senior Communications Officer, you will assist with the development and the delivery of the Communications Strategy through use of our various communications channels and functions: websites, social media, newsletters, leaflets, posters, press releases, events etc. You will also increase the visibility of St Luke’s and its brand to the wider community, with the aim to reach new target groups for membership, increase visitor participation in our events and activities and generate income from fundraising and commercial activities.

Responsibilities of our Senior Communications Officer will include:

• Support the Senior Communications Manager to develop and deliver the Communications Strategy for St Luke’s across the spectrum of communications disciplines: media and public relations, internal communication, brand marketing, advertising, marketing, social media and production of materials.  
• Design and produce key marketing materials promoting larger events at the Centre. Also oversee production of materials for all activities and events through structured templates and training to members of staff. This involves adherence to St Luke’s Brand Guidelines.
• To shoot and edit film assets and footage for our social media channels, managing our YouTube channel and giving people an insight into daily life at the Centre through our videos.
• To co-ordinate an online events calendar through our membership database, working with Service Managers to ensure events are publicised through the relevant channels including website, newsletter, social media, etc.
• Manage the website content (WordPress) and the membership database, Membership Works, co-ordinating other users who access the system and providing training where needed.
• Provide content for daily updates on social media channels, expanding our scope and keeping up-to-date with developments. Manage sponsored posts. Provide support for staff needing to update social media, including occasional drop-in workshops.
• Manage the photograph library, and assist if staff require specific photos for publicity. Arrange photographers for events and photo sessions at the Centre. Advise staff on GDPR rules around photography where necessary.

Essential Skills, Experience & Abilities we are looking for in our ideal Senior Communications Officer:

Beacon for Rare Diseases is seeking a Senior Scientific Projects Officer to join our established team and support us through the next stage in our charity's development.

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE

As Senior Scientific Projects Officer, you will be pivotal in delivering Beacon’s scientific training initiatives. Your role will involve creating and delivering educational content through written guides, webinars, and workshops, aimed at equipping patient group leaders and academics with the knowledge to contribute effectively to the development of new therapies for rare diseases.

Alongside the Scientific Projects Manager and other key team members, you’ll work across two main areas of the charity’s work:

1. REMEDi4ALL: A European-wide drug repurposing platform, aiming to expedite the use of existing medicines to address unmet clinical needs. Collaborating with our European partners, you will drive the creation of training materials focused on patient engagement and education within the drug repurposing community.
    
2. Rare Disease Research: Supporting the development of the UK rare disease research ecosystem, alongside LifeArc’s newly funded Rare Disease Translational Research Centres. You will help establish new standards in patient-centred research, disseminating findings and insights from this innovative network to accelerate rare disease treatment development in the UK.

Across these projects, you will manage the development of educational materials, including writing and reviewing content, supporting and coordinating volunteers and pro bono contributors, planning and delivering live training events, and assessing needs through feedback and stakeholder engagement.

THE CHARITY  

Unfold is led by the people we serve, and we get people where they want to be. We’re a bold, agile and growing organization, with a friendly, energetic and welcoming team. As an established local charity, we’re powered by volunteers who support young people and families to identify and achieve goals that matter to them. We provide mentoring and peer support groups to people in Westminster, Kensington and Chelsea and the neighbouring boroughs.  

We’re open to everyone, but we target those who face the most challenges: 93% of the people we work with describe themselves as coming from a racialized group, 85% of the families we support are single-parent households headed by a woman, and 75% of the children we support are eligible for free school meals. We also run specialized programmes of support for people seeking asylum and those with refugee status. Last year we provided one-to-one mentoring to over 246 people, and group support to a further 252 people. With increasing demand for our services, we expect to provide direct support to over 350 individuals in the coming year.  

In our programme of support for parents, we have two primary programmes, a ‘Mentoring for Mothers’, for women with children aged 5+, which aims to improve well-being, confidence, connectedness and reduce loneliness. We also run Women’s Support Groups, which are friendly, relaxed spaces for women to meet, socialise, share challenges, offer support to one another and find out about services that meet their needs.  

POSITION SUMMARY  

In partnership with the local authority, Unfold is developing a new programme in the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea in support of the families who have been made homeless or are at risk of homelessness who are accommodated in Bed & Breakfast and commercial hotels, within and outside of the borough. Collaborating with local family services and public health team, Unfold will offer  

• Outreach to families in hotels and B&Bs  
• Women’s Support Group  
• Mentoring for five women  

As an Outreach & Programme Coordinator Officer, you will be visiting the families and carrying out a screening to identify priority needs for appropriate signposting and connecting the families back to local services in Kensington & Chelsea. Part of the role will be to set up and run a weekly Women’s Support Group aiming to support the families build connections and find about further services in Kensington & Chelsea or in their new areas. Mentoring is part of the support women will be able to access, and as the Outreach & Programme Coordinator Officer you will be identifying women who are ready to engage in mentoring and working with Unfold colleagues to match them with a mentor, supporting mentoring pairs in their time together.  

At Unfold, we work with people with different needs, ages, and backgrounds, so the right person for this role needs to be a great communicator, enjoys connecting with people, has empathy and understands the challenges families face in temporary accommodation arrangements.  

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Outreach

• Create a plan for visiting on a regular basis all Bed & Breakfast and commercial hotels in five main London boroughs where families have been placed.  
• Act as a friendly face who families will trust, building recognition and local knowledge.  
• Conduct an initial screening on location to summarise the families’ – both parents and children presenting circumstances.  
• Following project referral pathways, share findings of the screening with partner services in Kensington and Chelsea, ensuring that appropriate services are notified.  
• Assist families to engage with family support services in Kensington & Chelsea.  
• Assist families to access local services in the borough the hotel is located within if appropriate. 
• Signpost to local wellbeing activities to meet needs identified by the family, taking into consideration their specific needs and interests.  
• Update appropriate resources and signposting materials.  
• Identify risks and escalate them in a timely manner to appropriate services.  

Women’s Support Group Facilitation & Coordination  

• With the support of the Programme Manager, set up and coordinate one weekly Women’s Support Group, following Unfold’s peer support model.  
• Create a friendly, welcoming atmosphere so that members feel at ease and able to determine group activities.
• Conduct monitoring of the WSG, including new member registration and attendance.  
• Coordinate resources and materials needed for the smooth running of the sessions and signposting.  
• Plan groups to meet the needs of members, with lively and engaging sessions in response to needs of group members, coordinating visits from external partners in health, wellbeing, culture and arts.  
• Be proactive in outreach and communications to the group, maximising participation and ensuring that everyone feels welcome.  

Mentoring Support  

• Promote mentoring to women in hotels and B&Bs, so that they’re aware of the benefits and feel they can take up the offer when they’re ready.  
• Identify and onboard participants who are ready for mentoring.  
• Organise and run assessment and matching sessions for five women, periodically reviewing with mentors and mentees.  
• Support mentors to connect mentees with services and activities that meet their needs, using knowledge of local services  
• Ensure all participants are aware of and follow safeguarding measures in line with Unfold’s policies.  
• Provide ongoing support to volunteers to help them flourish as mentors responding to any questions and concerns.  
• Support in the delivery of virtual and in-person mentor training and monthly supervision sessions.  
• Make sure our monitoring systems are being used as intended providing support to mentors and mentees as needed.  

Administrative Support  

• Manage cases with Beacon, our CRM system, making sure all the data is inputted correctly and is up-to-date.  

Other Duties and Responsibilities  

• Participate in regular management supervision, team meetings and annual appraisal; help to identify your own job-related development and training needs.

About the role:

We are seeking a dynamic and organised Office Administrator to join our team. To manage the overall running of the Carers’ Hub office, including overseeing HR admin, implement policy and procedures, including Health and Safety, maintain administrative processes, manage stakeholders, serve the trustee board, and work closely with the Carers’ Hub team in the implementation of events and projects.

The Office Administrator role is a new position that will provide a wide variety of operational support to the Carers’ Hub Leadership Team as we develop our offer and increase the number of carers who access our services.  Main Purpose of the Role

Momentum Children’s Charity’s fundraising team is highly ambitious, driven by our goal to help families of seriously ill children in London, Surrey and Sussex to keep moving forward. Corporate income currently comprises circa 18% of the overall income. But with our expansion in hospital partnership geography, and aspiration to provide support to more families in the future, the expansion of this income stream will be key to this growth.

Working with the Corporate Partnerships Lead, this person will enjoy helping to develop all facets of the corporate fundraising area, working with and forging relationships with businesses to develop opportunities, fundraising and charitable giving, provide outstanding stewardship and relationship management, as well as helping to research and grow a healthy, robust pipeline of new opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

Donor relationship management 

• Develop lasting relationships with existing donors and new prospects, building and managing a portfolio of donors giving £5,000 upwards

The Policy Communications Officer will assist in increasing the visibility of Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK) to external audiences, with a particular focus on influencing key political stakeholders, such as the next UK government, to support policy change.

The Policy Communications team sits within the Communications Department but works closely and collaboratively with the Policy and Public Affairs Department to maximise the success and influence of their work by gaining cut-through with key audiences and inspiring positive, urgent action. This is a varied role, covering areas across diagnosis, treatment and prevention. The postholder will also assist with efforts to shape public health policy around dementia, including dementia risk reduction and brain health messaging.

The postholder will develop engaging and compelling content for a range of communications channels, with the aim of developing the charity’s voice as an expert commentator on dementia policy and establishing the charity as a thought leader in the UK.

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:

· Working with the Policy Communications Manager to lead on the creation and delivery of communications and content to support ARUK's policy and public affairs activity, working through multiple channels including national media, newsletters, website content and social media.

· Develop effective relationships with ARUK’s Communications Department, Policy & Public Affairs Department, and with external stakeholders and partners, in order to identify and deliver on communications needs.

About YSS

We are a charity that helps people to help themselves, and we’ve been doing so for more than thirty years. There are thousands of people in our communities who struggle with life and face what seem to be insurmountable barriers - they are why we exist. We provide a wide variety of community-based support for people and are often described as the ‘glue’ between those at risk of social isolation and the wider mainstream society.

Background to the role

The MORSE Youth service is a new pilot project between YSS and West Mercia Youth Offending Service (WMYJS). The service will provide 1-1 support for children and young people under the age of 18 who have committed driving offences across West Mercia. Children will be referred to a 12-week behaviour change programme and will receive weekly holistic support focused on improving their resilience to peer pressure, strengthening positive relationships and developing a future action plan. This innovative pilot service aims to reduce the number of driving offences committed by under 18s and in turn reduce the number of collisions, injuries and fatalities.

Role Details

Your role will principally work with children and young people under the age of 18 who are committing driving offences and have been referred from the Youth Justice team. You will provide 12-weeks support per service user, offering a combination of face to face and remote support. You will deliver support across the whole of Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin or Worcestershire and Hereforeshire and your primary base will be determined by the area closest to where you reside. There will be an expectation to work from Youth Justice Offices at agreed intervals. Mileage costs will be paid from your base to other offices. There is an expectation for the team to also support delivery in other areas, within our service, according to need.

• Manage a caseload of individuals offering practical and emotional support and delivering direct planned work with children/young people on a one-to-one basis, using a variety of interventions to achieve better outcomes and reduce re-offending behaviour.

• Risk assess and take the necessary actions in respect of any activities/engagement undertaken with service users including personal safety, lone-working and safeguarding.

• Understand professional boundaries and ensure that your role and remit is made clear to all service users you engage with.

• Meet individual performance targets and contribute towards meeting team performance targets in respect of the service. • Deliver a trauma informed service that ensures the needs of the service user is at the heart of “everything we do”. Embed the principles of restorative practice and motivational interviewing techniques into all aspects of service delivery.

• Uphold the vision, values, and profile of YSS both internally and externally.

• Collate data in accordance with GDPR to improve systems and services beyond the life of the project.

• Develop effective working relationships with colleagues within YSS and throughout Worcestershire and Herefordshire to provide an integrated inter-agency response to children and young people.

Notes

• It is expected that weekend and evening work will be a feature of the role from time to time and be a requirement of the post holder.

• There will be regular travel across Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin or Worcestershire & Herefordshire and therefore access to a car or the ability to travel independently across the regions is essential.

This role sits within the Community Education and Training team, working to support our learners to access, complete and progress through our wide range of adult learning provision. The main focus will be on providing additional support for learners who need wrap-around support relating to a range of additional personal and educational needs. This could include welfare, personal and family support and wider mental health and wellbeing support or additional learning needs such as dyslexia, ADHD, literacy support and other needs.

You will work with the team to implement strategies and support plans for individuals to aid learning and enhance educational experience. You will support the team’s administrator to monitor learner’s attendance, contacting them via phone, email or arranging a meeting in person where pastoral support is needed.

You will work with our Adult Safeguarding Lead to support safeguarding cases across our departments, including keeping safeguarding records, making referrals and building a database of local support services available to learners and other service users.

We are looking for a dedicated individual who is passionate about supporting learners to ensure they have the best opportunity to thrive on their learning journey.

You will also support wider functions in the team such as contributing to the organisation of our termly learners’ forum to celebrate achievement and attending events in the community to publicise our work.

The successful applicant will have experience of working with vulnerable individuals or groups, be committed to safeguarding, have excellent administration skills, be flexible and excited about being at the heart of a busy team and committed to providing an excellent service to High Trees’ users.
