Frazzled is a small mental health and wellbeing charity founded by Ruby Wax OBE, that provides a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment where people who are feeling frazzled and overwhelmed by the stresses of modern life can meet on a regular basis to talk and share their personal stories.
We run our free meetings online every single day of the year for anyone who needs them, and anyone can book and be included to talk, share, listen and to feel heard.
As part of our exciting plans for growth, we are seeking a Fundraising Lead to drive the organisation’s fundraising to fulfil our mission and play a key role in supporting the next phase of Frazzled’s growth and development.
You will be responsible for developing and delivering an ambitious fundraising strategy with a range of fundraising activities focusing primarily on trusts and foundations but also individual donors, corporate partners and fundraising campaigns.
This is an exciting, creative and flexible opportunity for the right person. The ideal candidate is someone with a demonstrable successful track record in fundraising, alongside the skills of a talented and persuasive communicator and relationship builder. They will be creative, solution focussed, willing to get stuck in and have good humour.
We would be willing to consider freelancers or contract workers for the right candidate.
MAIN TASKS
Fundraising
- Lead on developing and delivering an annual fundraising strategy to support our ambitious plans for growth, securing a minimum of £250k per year from Trusts and Foundations, individual donors, fundraising events and campaigns, and corporate partnerships.
- Research and generate a pipeline of funding applications, including multi-year grant opportunities from Trusts and Foundations
- Lead on writing compelling applications and conversations with funders, talking persuasively and informatively about Frazzled’s work and impact
- Work with the CEO and trustees to develop new relationships with individual donors and strengthen partnerships with existing supporters
- Work with the CEO and Head of Training and Programmes to develop new opportunities for corporate sponsorship and partnerships
- Lead on organising fundraising events such as dinners with major funders and initiate and develop other opportunities for fundraising.
- Lead on Frazzled’s annual Big Give Christmas Challenge campaign and identify any other fundraising campaign opportunities throughout the year, with support from the Project Support and Administration Officer
- Prepare regular reports and updates for our funders and trustees, engaging them with our work and the impact of their support
- Ensure that Frazzled’s fundraising work is GDPR compliant and meets best practice standards.
Other:
- Work with and support the Project Support and Administrative Officer in relevant fundraising tasks, delegating where appropriate.
- Participation in other projects/initiatives as required as a core member of the management team

Person Specification:

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Personal Assistant (PA) to the Rector at St Aldates plays a crucial role in ensuring the ongoing smooth and efficient operation of the Rector’s office. This role involves managing a wide range of administrative and organisational tasks to support the Rector.
The PA will ensure the Rector’s office continues to be organised, focused, and will support the Rector’s ministry responsibilities by managing administrative tasks, coordinating events, and ensuring clear communication. Correspondence and Diary Management

- Flexible and careful management of the Rector’s diary: Schedule appointments, meetings, and events, ensuring optimal time management.
- Manage tickets, travel, and accommodation: Organise logistics for conferences and trips.
- Welcome visiting groups and guests: Show warm hospitality to visitors throughout the year.
- Respectfully handle confidential and emotionally sensitive information: Including safeguarding cases.
- Assist the Rector with deadlines, time management, and meeting attendance: Ensure the Rector is well-prepared and punctual.
Communication Management
- Attend weekly team meetings: Take notes, communicate key messages, and organize follow-up actions.
- Weekly Services meeting: Capture dates for wedding banns and special services (e.g., Easter, Christmas).
- Prepare and distribute weekly Keynotes: Facilitate clear messaging for Sunday services.
- Manage the overall Preaching Rota: Include regular Sunday Services and special services such as Lent and Advent.
- Attend and input in additional meetings on the Rector’s behalf: Represent the Rector as needed.
- Maintain communication with the Diocese of Oxford: Particularly regarding Sunday service statistics.
- Regularly update the Services Register: Ensure accuracy and timeliness.

- Work alongside the Events Team when needed.
- Undertake special projects and assignments as directed by the Rector.

Overall Purpose
The Office Administrator will provide comprehensive administrative and secretarial support to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Foundation. This role is responsible for maintaining and developing administrative systems, both manual and digital, while supporting all core functions, including executive board, grant-making, fund development, and finance. Acting as the central support for the team, the role ensures internal processes run effectively by managing key administrative tasks and coordinating internal and external meetings. Through excellent organisation and attention to detail, the Office Administrator plays a vital role in keeping the foundation connected and running seamlessly.
Responsibilities
Provide administrative support to all staff of the foundation.
Manage the administration of information systems, including filing and database management.
Type and word-process documents and letters as required.
Undertake routine collation of information relating to the foundation’s services.
Office Coordination & Communication
Serve as the first point of contact for incoming phone calls and emails, greeting and assisting visitors, and overseeing the handling of incoming and outgoing post and deliveries.
Contacting individuals and groups by telephone when clarification or further information is required.
Provide customer service support when necessary.
Administer and keep up to date the contacts database and formal records or organisations the foundation works with.
Enter details of applications and donors into CRM systems.
Maintain and develop communication with affiliated and other voluntary groups, including supporting networking events.
Operations & Supplies Management
General office administration, including the maintenance of equipment inventories, training records, PAT testing schedules, and room bookings.
Manage the ordering and stocking of stationery, equipment and other office supplies.
Marcomms Support
Assist in the preparation, production, and distribution of regular newsletters, including maintaining the mailing list database.
Assist in posting content on social media platforms.
Executive Board Assistance
Work with the CEO to prepare and manage quarterly Board meetings for Foundation, and as required, other partners (including JCT)
Prepare for meetings, including compiling and distributing board papers, managing meeting dates and availability, and ensuring logistical arrangements.
Take accurate minutes and provide general administrative support for Board level members, always ensuring strict confidentiality.
Regularly update and maintain Board requirements, including EDI data, references, annual Conflict of Interest declarations, DBS checks, and other governance related documentation including Foundation Training log and Policy changes.
Provide administrative support to the Chair of Trustees as required, ensuring they have the necessary documentation, scheduling support, and other assistance to fulfil their role effectively.
Events and PR
Assist with organising events to showcase the Foundation’s work, including functions for donors, potential donors, community and voluntary groups.
Representing BLCF
Work as an effective Ambassador for the Foundation always, including at events and external networking.
Engage with the UK Community Foundation peer network to ensure the best practice is shared from across the sector
Experience
Demonstrable experience of using online file managements systems (e.g. SharePoint) to manage data and information relating to an organisations core systems, policies and processes.
Experience in working at Board or senior levels with supporting administration and issues in a confidential manner.
Experience of working under pressure while effectively collaborating across teams to achieve objectives.
Experience in administrative work, including managing tasks efficiently and supporting operational processes.

Chapter One is a dynamic, growing charity with a vision of a world in which all children have the literacy skills needed to thrive. Our mission is to close the reading gap by providing children with one-to-one support at the time they need it most. We work in eleven areas/regions of the UK and will support 3250 children in 2024-25.
Our unique Online Reading Volunteer programme pairs struggling five to seven-year old (KS1) readers with reading support volunteers who are working professionals. The volunteer ask is very focused: readers commit 30 minutes a week to read with a child using a bespoke digital platform for an entire academic year. The results are transformative, boosting children's reading confidence and ability.
From a school perspective, online reading volunteers provide direct, meaningful literacy support for up to 10 pupils per class. The programme is particularly suitable for communities where it might be challenging to find parents and other volunteers who can commit to physically visiting schools to boost reading.
Job Summary
Chapter One is seeking a Manchester Programme Manager who is an excellent communicator and is able both to motivate and support schools and teachers to implement our online reading volunteers programme, and also to ensure that the programme’s impact and benefit to children facing disadvantage communities is maximised throughout the academic year.
The post is ideal for someone looking for part-time, flexible, term-time only work from a home base, but who is also able to travel frequently around the Greater Manchester area to visit schools.The postholder will be joining a team of established Programme Managers (also part-time) who work in different parts of the UK and will need to have some flexibility to work additional hours during busy autumn months, and conversely to work fewer hours during quieter periods of the year.
Key Responsibilities:
• Effectively explain Chapter One’s online reading volunteer programme and its benefits to school leaders and teachers
• Install, setup and maintain Chapter One equipment in participating classrooms
• Fully understand the operation of the Chapter One platform and database and communicate this to others
• Organise and conduct initial teacher training and follow-up
• Ensure a smooth initial launch of Chapter One’s programme in every classroom
• Liaise with colleagues performing technical and volunteer support roles
• Through regular visits to/contact with schools, provide on-going embedded professional learning and support to teachers throughout the year as needed
• Proactively monitor classroom adherence/fidelity to the Chapter One model, including systematic review of data reports and volunteer feedback, taking proactive action to resolve problems that arise

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITES
- Processing grants-related payments, working alongside the Grants Manager and other finance teams in the Trust, to investigate and resolve any discrepancies.
- Exporting grant and payment information from the Grants system and assisting with the reconciliation of the grants and the accounts systems as required.
- Maintaining the grants database and other records as necessary, ensuring systems are kept up to date and correspondence for grant applicants and suppliers are filed and stored in accordance with appropriate Data Protection requirements.
- Assisting in the processing, monitoring and follow-up of charity grants, including corresponding with grant applicants to obtain appropriate information to support the grant making process.
- Produce monitoring reports for the Senior Management Team and Grants Manager.

- Undertake other work in support of the Charity’s objectives and any other duties identified by the Charity Executives and/or Grants Manager.
GENERAL DUTIES
- Providing effective day to day administrative support covering the Charity phone line and jointly monitor the Charity Grants inbox ensuring all emails are answered or distributed as required.
- Providing cover arrangements in relation to general charity administration including opening post, ordering stationery, credit card purchasers, receiving and counting donations (cheque and cash) from staff and other donors in accordance with charity procedure.

How are staff supported to work remotely?
VoiceAbility has a small number of offices. Employees including Team Leaders are homebased for Administration and meetings will be held online as well as in person in the relevant community.
