This is a new role giving you the opportunity and responsibility to build on our successful fundraising and extend our appeal to new donors as well as maintain our existing supporters. You will need demonstrable fundraising experience and the ability to work confidently as a strategic thinker and as a practical fundraiser. You will hit the ground running and come with strong ideas and skills to implement them.
As head of fundraising you will work closely with the CEO to grow charitable income and philanthropic support from governments, individuals, trusts and foundations, corporate companies and other areas. You will help her drive the charity's work forward and work closely with our project teams and see the direct impact of your efforts.
You will have developed your portfolio of fundraising skills over time within charities that work for social good and can demonstrate experiene in securing fundraising income particularly in securing five and six figure grants/donations. Experience of securing statutory funding will be essential. You will have experience of line managing junior fundraising staff and will be keen to develop your managerial responsibility.
You will be a confident and capable leader who will work with colleagues towards supporting an annual programme of circa £3m. This role is crucial to building the charity's long-term sustainability, with a focus on exploring innovative opportunities.

Job Description Finance Officer
Imago Dei is a small but growing charity that works with women in prison and once they leave prison. We are seeking a part-time Finance Officer to aid our growth, the role can be a hybrid working role incorporating some office working, and in-person attendance at staff meetings and staff days.
We are looking for a team member that will be able to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the finances of Imago Dei using QuickBooks and associated applications. To ensure, alongside the accountant, that the charity remains compliant with all statutory financial regulations that apply to it and any subsidiaries and coordinating the preparation of data to meet reporting requirements. Streamlining processes and systems.
The role will require someone who can work flexibly and independently, with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate must be comfortable using accounting software and be confident and able to adapt their skills to meet the requirements of an organization, in a period of rapid growth and change.
Main duties:
The role includes but is not limited to:
1. To be responsible for accurate data input and analysis using accounting software and other commercial systems
2. Processing transactions including purchase ledger, sales ledger, nominal ledger, payroll journals, general journals, bank posting; and helping resolve any other related issues
3. Complete bank reconciliations, petty cash reconciliations, cash flow analysis and reconciliation of Balance Sheet accounts on a monthly basis
4. Monitor and process expenses and co-ordinate the management of company cards
5. Co-ordinate cash management and banking, including thanking donors
6. Running payroll, processing pensions and resolving related issues and the issuing of associated notices and documents
7. Assist in the preparation of accruals, prepayments, and other relevant journals to produce management accounts
8. Working closely with Head of Fundraising in processing and monitoring grants, donations and gift aid claims, and support non-financial managers with associated processes and documentation
9. Work with the Head of Fundraising and CEO in the setting and monitoring of budgets and assist non-financial managers in interpreting, preparing, and monitoring related information
10. Support and train Budget Holders and other staff in using financial information, systems and tools, and work with managers to resolve more complex issues and develop appropriate financial systems
11. Attend meetings and liaise with colleagues as required
12. Attend staff meetings and training relevant to the role
13. Comply with all relevant Health & Safety, Safeguarding, DEI and GDPR Guidelines
14. Work with colleagues to actively promote the work of the charity and participate in fundraising
15. Ensure compliance with internal quality assurance standards
16. Uphold and promote the Mission and Values of the Charity
17. Undertake any such appropriate duties as directed by the charity from time to time.
Essential Skills and Experience
Proven ability to support a significant finance function
An appropriate financial qualification
An understanding of, and interest in women in the Criminal Justice System, their situations, and the opportunities they may want and/or need
Experience of financial administration in the charity sector
Experience of working with QuickBooks
Experience of Petty Cash management
Excellent computer skills including using main Microsoft packages as well as experience of remote working and related systems

Role Overview

Our Location
We are based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, so we are easily accessible by road and rail. In this role, there is plenty of scope for working from home although you will need to be in the office for two days a week minimum. There will also be other times when you’ll need to be in the office for fulfilment tasks or to attend meetings such as our ‘All Staff Together’ days four times a year and you will also be required to attend fundraising events.

What the job involves
The Policy and Health Influencing teams are responsible for using clinical data and evidence to shape what the organisation thinks and to develop solutions that drive change for men with and at risk of prostate cancer. This means working with clinicians, patients and stakeholders to interpret the latest changes in prostate cancer research, care, support and treatment which will help shape our strategic direction and activities.
We’re looking for a Senior Policy Officer to join us on a fixed term basis for 12 months. Your role in the team will be to support the organisation by pinpointing the health policy and practice changes that will give men access to the best diagnosis, treatment and support.
You’ll develop evidence-based and patient-experience-informed policy positions that support the delivery of our strategic direction. You’ll horizon scan to identify relevant external health policy developments across the four UK nations and advise and support teams around the organisation with information on external policy developments, identifying routes to achieve change.
Additionally, you'll produce evidence-led policy reports and briefings, advising teams on external policy developments and identifying opportunities for change.

We’re seeking a skilled policy professional with experience in developing evidence-based policies and positions. You'll understand the importance of using evidence to create strong, reliable policies and have some knowledge of various research methodologies.
With a solid grasp of research methods, you'll be able to simplify complex clinical research into clear, accessible terms. Your ability to influence others will be crucial for representing our organisation externally and ensuring timely approval of new treatments, including contributing to NICE/SMC consultations.

The Lead of Grants and Programmes plays an integral role within the team to deliver impact to tens of thousands of dogs and cats around the world. The Lead will manage the team of expert grant managers, guiding and empowering them to achieve impact.
The Lead will oversee several portfolios of work within the grants and programmes function at Battersea, as we expand our work to impact more dogs and cats. Over the coming five years, it is planned that the size and complexity of grant making, and other forms of programming will grow, including the establishment of several multi-year programmes in the UK and abroad.
This is a senior role within the Grants and Programmes team in the Global Programmes Directorate, requiring excellent experience of people management, impact measurement, good grant making practice and implementing strategic programmes.
The successful postholder should be comfortable empowering others, taking a coaching approach to team management and in supporting the team to shape proposals and portfolios of work to advance the collective interests of a team. They should also be comfortable working with considerable scope, and complexity and nurturing relationships with colleagues as an integral element of the role.

As our Safety Officer, you will:
- Conducting health and safety audits in line with the Scouts’ Safety Quality Framework, identifying areas of non-compliance and taking appropriate action to rectify these
- Providing members with specialist technical advice and support in the area of safety, outdoor activities and adventure

Who we're looking for:
- Good knowledge of relevant health & safety legislation and regulation
- Level 3 IOSH/NEBOSH accredited qualification
- Experience in delivering health & safety advice
- Experience of conducting health & safety audits and identifying risk
- Experience in office administration, using Information Technology, analysing/interpreting data and composing reports
- The ability to assimilate large amounts of data and information and provide a summary of key implications for others

Job Title: Operations Manager
Accountable to: Chief Executive and Charity Manager (CE)
Job Purpose
This is a hands-on role, the purpose of which is to work with the staff to ensure that the Volunteer Action (VA) services are fully operational and delivering customer service excellence.
To co-ordinate and develop the volunteering programme to meet the demands of the services provided by VA to meet the Charity’s aims.
To support the development and management of all external communications, marketing and fundraising activities.
To work closely with the CE and deputise as and when required.
Key Responsibilities
Operations
a) Day to day supervision of office volunteers, including rota production
b) Ensure the databases are used accurately, kept up to date and maintained within GDPR guidelines
c) Ensure that day to day activities are executed professionally and economically
d) Ensure all administrative functions are completed effectively and in a timely fashion
e) Ensure all mandatory documentation is completed and accurate records are maintained
f) Identify and introduce continuous improvements to working procedures
g) Identify, develop and deliver training for staff and office volunteers as required
h) Ensure the office is manned optimally to meet the changing demands of the service including providing cover for holidays etc as required
i) Work with the team to ensure a co-ordinated message and optimise growth of all the Charity’s services, stepping in to assist where necessary
Volunteers
a) Actively source new volunteers, ensuring volunteering opportunities are available in line with VA’s aims and objectives

Information, Communication and Marketing
a) Support the production of content and assist in the distribution of the monthly communication to volunteers and the annual VA Newsletter arranging mail-outs to clients as required
b) Encourage use of our other services when communicating with members
c) Provide presentations as required to other organisations about volunteering programme
d) Attend or arrange events to promote the volunteering programme in the local communities (These meetings may be out of office hours)
e) Manage external communications, including website and social media
Deputising for the Chief Executive and Charity Manager
a) Work with, and send information to, other organisations who work with our client group on an ongoing planned basis, ensuring that the referral pathways are open and accessible
b) Represent VA at relevant meetings, including developing partnership working with organisations that have a common purpose or work with the client group
c) Support the CE in the preparation of evaluation documents and impact reports
d) Monitor and identify gaps in service and seek ways to bridge the gaps
e) Understand the funding mechanisms and support the CE in bids and fundraising events

The Principal duties and responsibilities will be as follows:
Governance
Ensuring that the charity is legally compliant, compliant with requirements of the Charity Commission and has the correct insurances in place for the charity’s activities and that these are reviewed annually.
Ensure systems are in place for the Board of Trustees to fulfil its statutory responsibilities and exercise effective control of the charity's affairs. Support trustee recruitment in line with Hackney Playbus procedures.
Ensure policies and guidelines are appropriate for the charity’s work and reviewed regularly by the Trustees, including annual reviews of Children’s Safeguarding, Data Protection policies and the Risk Register developing policy proposals as necessary
Report quarterly or as required to the Board of Trustees on progress against key strategic objectives, providing information and explaining performance
Strategic
To work with Trustees to ensure the charity’s vision, mission and strategic plans are reviewed in conjunction with key stakeholders including Hackney Playbus staff, volunteers and families.
To take Joint responsibility for achieving, monitoring and reporting on performance against targets in all areas of charity’s activities taking action as required
To be open to feedback and ideas for innovation and change while delivering consistent and reliable services
To develop a culture of continuous improvement throughout all aspects of the charity's work.
Financial
Ensure that income is maintained, expenditure controlled in line with budgets and potential risks are identified and managed
Draw up an annual budget for approval by Trustees
Liaise with appointed bookkeeper, ensuring timely payment of bills, invoicing for services, chasing of invoices for payment and maintenance of petty cash systems
Prepare contracts, apply for tenders, negotiate and agree contracts, service level agreements and acknowledge receipt of funds as required.
Oversee expenditure and management accounts ensuring that income and expenditure is monitored and reported quarterly to Trustees
Organise independent examination of accounts with appointed accountant
Review and make recommendations to maintain or change arrangements with accountants, bookkeepers and payroll service providers.
Income Generation
Develop income generation strategies to maintain and enhance levels of funding from existing sources and develop new funding streams
Work closely with and provide support to the Fundraising Officer on funding applications to ensure continuous and sufficient income
Work closely with the Co-Director of Operations to ensure that monitoring reports are submitted to funders in line with requirements.
HR
Recruit staff as required
Support and supervise Administration and Fundraising Officers
Ensure HR policies, procedures and staff contracts are relevant and reviewed regularly to ensure they are fit for purpose.
Promotion of Charity
Maintain effective networks with supporters and stakeholders
Network externally and develop partnerships to improve impact and sustainability
Ensure charity is presented in an appropriate and professional manner to its stakeholders including website, social media, annual, impact and reports
Represent the charity in public forums and produce or commission written/digital material for promotion
Asset Management
Overall responsibility for asset management including Playbus vehicles, premises management, IT, utilities and other overheads.
Other Duties
To participate in internal/external meetings and training
To participate in annual appraisal by appointed Trustee from the Boardof Trustees
To uphold Hackney Playbus policies and procedures including Children's Safeguarding.
