People’s Economy aims to build the agency and power of people facing injustice and working for social change so that they have the expertise, capabilities and resources to develop their own analysis of how the economic system is a root cause of the injustice they face, develop strategies to change it and then take action with others. Our vision is for a world with economies that meet the needs and priorities of people currently experiencing economic injustice.

The Movement Collaboration Lead or Senior Movement Collaboration Lead (depending on experience) will work closely with the Programme Director and the Programme Team to lead the development and delivery of an exciting emerging programme of work building collaboration for economic system change between grassroots groups and new economy organisations. 

We are looking for people who are: passionate about addressing economic injustice, are excited about the role of collaboration in creating systems change and capable of creating partnerships and strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.

The first twelve months of this programme will take an action inquiry approach to facilitate a mixed group of new economy organisations and grassroots groups through a collaborative process that will develop shared knowledge and practice about  how we  can effectively and equitably collaborate on economic systems change work through practical experiments, facilitated dialogue and collaborative research.

The role will involve responsibilities for project managing and delivering this work including programme development and delivery, developing partnerships, changemaker recruitment and support, conducting desk research and interviews, managing and running events, supporting project related fundraising, conducting project learning and evaluation and writing a learning report about the project. 

Following this first year we plan to scale work on supporting collaboration between grassroots groups and new economy organisations, subject to funding we hope this could become a permanent role.

All programme roles in the People’s Economy team support work across the programme team and we see a postholder likely working on the Action Inquiry for 0.4 FTE and supporting other work strands depending on their relevant skills, experiences and interests for 0.2 FTE.

Project Development

• Working closely with the Programme Director and the Programme Team, lead the translation of existing strategic thinking, planning and relationship building into a project plan.
• Working closely with the Programme Director and the Programme Team, contribute to business planning and fundraising for future development of the action inquiry beyond the first year.

It will coordinate our Programme team to deliver different initiatives that support a growing movement for economic justice across the city - particularly focused on building support and engagement amongst grassroots changemakers and communities experiencing economic injustice. Birmingham Programme Development

• Working closely with the Programme Director and the Programme Team, lead the translation of People’s Economy’s strategy into a programme of work in Birmingham
• Working closely with the Programme Director and the Programme Team, identify the resources People’s Economy needs to deliver its strategy in Birmingham and contribute to fundraising for the organisation’s programme of work in Birmingham

In this role you’ll be both strategic and hands-on, solely managing the financial controls for Creative Land Trust. You will support the CEO, Executive Team and Board of Trustees through your management of financial processes, reporting and governance.

We are a small team (7 people in total) with an ambitious goal to secure affordable and long term workspace for artists and creatives. We will shortly be opening our third property.

CLT is based in London but we work remotely most of the time. You will need to be able to get to meetings in London 1-2 occasions per month.

About you

You will need to be experienced in technical charity finance matters – for example, partial exemption VAT, Gift Aid, reserves reporting, primary purpose trading – and be able to present charity numbers clearly to a range of audiences.

You’ll be confident in putting together and assessing cashflows and financial appraisals and communicating your conclusions.

You’ll have great IT skills, especially with Excel, so that you can minimise the time you spend on bookkeeping and administrative tasks.

You will probably have experience of being the sole finance person or the most senior person in a small charity or SME. You will be excited about the thought of a role that involves both detail and strategic oversight.

You probably won’t have experience of every single issue that will come your way in this role but you’ll have a proven ability to research issues that are new to you and use your networks to come up with practical solutions.

Partnership Development Lead

Reporting to: Head of Corporate Partnerships

Location of work: Home-based with approximately one or two office days per month and travel for team days and events. The role may involve some irregular travel throughout England and Scotland. Expenses will be paid in line with our Travel and Expenses policy. 

Contract type: Full-time, 35 hours per week, although part-time/flexible hours may be considered. The role may require occasional evening and weekend work.

JOB PURPOSE  

As part of the Corporate Partnerships team in the Fundraising and Development directorate, Partnership Development is responsible for leading on securing new, high-value, strategic partnerships to support our vision of ensuring that no child or young person is too hungry to learn now and for good.

As the Partnership Development Lead, you will be responsible for spearheading the development and delivery of the new business strategy, as well as working collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation to pull together and deliver compelling proposals and pitches. The role will line manage the Senior Partnership Development Manager and Partnership Development Manager, working together to achieve the goals and priorities of the team. You will also create, embed and monitor key new business processes such as pipeline management, income forecasting and reporting, and work with the wider Fundraising team to deliver our fundraising strategy. 

 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:   

• Lead on the development and delivery of the team’s new business strategy. 

• Keep abreast of restricted and unrestricted funding needs, including our Gift in Kind requirements, managing the process to keep this up to date and building the team’s pipeline to meet these needs

• Use Sales Force to capture and analyse key new business data and KPIs and use insight to inform new business activity.

• Ensure the smooth transition of prospects to a) Partnership Managers, where appropriate working with prospective partners to agree partnership vision, objectives and KPIs in collaboration with them or b) small corporate team. 

• Engage relevant internal colleagues across Policy & Engagement, Finance & Performance and Service Delivery to feed into the partnership development process.

• Support Head of Corporate Partnerships in accurately forecasting new business income for each financial year, and ensure forecast income is updated monthly.

Overview

To date, Global Dialogue’s finances has been overseen by an external accountancy firm. Over the last eighteen months, we have been working towards bringing our finance function in house. This role presents an exciting opportunity for an experienced accountant to take the reins and complete the development and roll out of our internal finance function.

The Head of Finance is a new role within the organisation that is both strategic and handson. In the first phase, the postholder will be required to roll up their sleeves and, with the support of Global Dialogue’s Finance Officer, get stuck into the detail of financial administration, including overseeing twice monthly pay runs, monthly and quarterly closes, and other day-to-day financial management tasks. Alongside this, the role will lead on bringing the finance function fully in house, eventually taking on full responsibility for the preparation of management and statutory accounts, cashflow and FX management, and budgeting and forecasting processes. This role will play a key coaching role for the Finance Officer, with a view to eventually delegating all bookkeeping tasks. The postholder will also be responsible for ensuring finance systems are innovative, robust and fit for purpose, and will be a business partner to our hosted programmes, providing advice on compliance and strategic matters.

Global Dialogue’s role as an international fiscal host means that we have a complex financial model, receive income from diverse streams and manage a high number of restricted funds. Our programmes lead cutting edge work, which means that our work is varied and fastpaced, requiring frequent innovation. Metro has been improving the quality of life for blind and partially sighted people for 50 years through sport and social activities. We recently won The Kings Award for Voluntary Services, the equivalent of an MBE for charities and the highest recognition a charity can receive. We are looking for a self motivated Fundraiser with good communication skills to join our charity, working closely with the CEO to develop and update the fundraising strategy in order to sustain good income generation. Some travel may be required to attend meetings or sporting activities.

Role purpose

As part of our strategy, you will be responsible for leading the delivery, direction, and management of our ambitions to empower a more diverse range of young people with opportunities to develop essential leadership and life skills regardless of their background.

You will act as an influential member of the organisation’s Leadership Team to set, establish and deliver the Programmes and Projects Strategy aimed at supporting growth, reach, and impact of Leadership Skills Foundation programmes among underserved and/or under-represented communities and individuals.

In addition to establishing and managing relationships with external stakeholders at national, regional, and local levels, you will work as a pivotal member of the leadership team to embed this area of work across the organisation and benefit thousands of young people across the UK.

This role will require positive and proactive internal working relationships to be created with other teams and colleagues to support organisational objectives and goals.

1.Responsible for leading and managing agreed and supported programmes, creating and supporting effective implementation and delivery systems.

2. Empower and equip programme team members, allocating resource to effectively deliver agreed and supported projects and their goals/KPIs.

4. Manage agreed programme budgets and forecasting liaising with Leadership Skills Foundation colleagues and funders as appropriate.

5. Responsibility for implementing internal performance metrics to demonstrate effectiveness, influencing programme management, monitoring and evaluation.

6. Ensure all project milestones, contractual and reporting requirements are met to the agreed standard.

7. Develop and present clear insight and analysis to drive the improvement of strategic, business and operational planning and delivery.
