The National Lottery Community Fund is looking for a skilled and proactive Network Engineer to become part of their compact IT Infrastructure Team located in Birmingham. This role will report directly to the Head of IT Infrastructure. Hybrid office working is available, though occasional travel to various UK sites will be required.
As a Network Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing our IT network, ensuring optimal performance, up-to-date security, and reliability.
Responsibilities:
- Be an integral part of the Team and act as the go to person and SME for networking requirements.
- Collaborate closely with Network Engineers, Infrastructure Engineers, Security Team and Project Managers to understand and address their requirements.
- Manage and optimise network infrastructure, including on-premise networks, public cloud (Azure) networks, virtual networks and WAN technologies.
- Configure and manage Firewalls, Routers, Access Points, Switches, SD-WAN and Networking Appliances.
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge of networking, including TCP/IP protocols, subnetting, VLANs, load balancing, and VPNs.
- Apply strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to resolve network issues.
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Monitor network performance, identify and resolve bottlenecks.
- Collaborate with service desk staff, providing education and support while resolving network-related tickets.
- Be responsible for end-to-end delivery of the Project tasks.
- Lead networking element of projects to improve production environments.

- Ability to write clear, concise technical documentation such as Network Designs.

Essential criteria

We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity for a Schools Coordinator (Impact Officer) to work as the primary link between partner schools and the CYUK programme.

The Role
We have a rewarding opportunity for a School Impact Officer to train, support and develop volunteers and monitor the programme through effective administration, data management and to build a deep partnership between the school and the charity.
The Impact Officer is based predominantly in a school and is the primary link between the partner schools and the programme and is the enabler of the programme delivery. - Plan and implement delivery for the three Careers Plus programmes, including skills sessions, work experience and mentoring across a range of sectors (Tech, Consulting and Law)
- Liaise with external delivery organisations to ensure the sessions and content of the programme meets its intended aims
- Recruit and manage a cohort of Careers Plus students (three strands, 30-60 students per strand), leading on communication to drive engagement and attendance across programme activities
- Evaluate the programme activities and delivery model to enable future programme development
- Supporting the effective delivery of high-quality in-person and virtual work experience and employer engagement as part of the Trust’s Pathways to Engineering and Access Apprenticeships in Engineering programmes.
- Liaising with a range of stakeholders such as employers, universities, and Sutton Trust colleagues to match students with relevant employer engagement activities.
- Following up with students in the case of any unexpected absence or non-attendance at work experience placements.

Person Specification

Reporting to the Individual Giving Manager, you will work as part of the Individual Giving Team, stewarding existing supporters and maximising income across a variety of direct marketing campaigns and activities, including: direct mail, email, digital, telephone campaigns, and the national fundraising Lottery.
