This role involves managing key operational and governance functions, supporting the Executive Director and President, and ensuring the smooth running of various committees and Special Interest Groups (SIGs). The Executive Administrator will also assist with the ABN fellowship scheme.

Key Responsibilities of the Executive Administrator

Executive & Governance Support

• Provide administrative support to the Executive Director and President.
• Manage the President’s inbox, responding to or escalating queries as appropriate.
• Coordinate and schedule meetings, including preparing agendas and drafting and distributing minutes.
• Process and track expense claims for the Council and Executive team.
• Organise bookings for the President, including travel, hotels, and restaurants.

Committee & Fellowship Support

• Provide full administrative support to the Services Committee, including scheduling meetings, preparing documents, and taking minutes.
• Undertake projects for the Services Committee as required, including data analysis
• Assist Governance & Grants Manager with the administration of the ABN Fellowship Programme, including maintaining records and supporting application and review processes.
• Liaise with Special Interest Groups (SIGs) on behalf of ABN

Financial & Operational Support

• Ensure office supplies are maintained, including stationery and consumables
• Assist with financial administration, including processing expenses and payments.
• Liaise with finance teams to ensure smooth financial operations.
• Deputise for Website & Finance Officer in their absence
• Assist with budget tracking and financial reporting as required.

The ABN has a small office team, and all staff members are required to take on duties outside of their main job description from time to time.

We’re Recruiting – Fundraising Manager 

From your UK home-base you’ll be flying the flag for the charity outside of Wales as a Fundraiser. You’ll put on quality fundraising events and build strong relationships through our reputation and Welsh links making a difference when it comes to people with cancer.

The details

Working 28 hours per week flexibly you’ll need a UK work base. The salary is £29,600 (or £37,000 FTE)

Days and hours can be built in and around our standard operating week as set out in our staff benefits. We’re open to making the working week fit into your own lifestyle and the nature and needs of this type of Fundraising role. With a lot of autonomy in where you run events to meet your annual target there may need to be some travel to a city/location where you’re generating the income or some events you run may be in evenings or weekends. 

Around going to work events for the role the rest of the job can be done from home anywhere in the UK. Our Cardiff City Centre Head Office is always available to you too. Most Team meetings and day to day colleague work is handled remotely but we’d expect to see you in the office for things such as our quarterly team meetings.

Role Purpose

The Operations Director is a critical leadership role responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective running of all operational aspects of Katherine Low Settlement. This role oversees the day-to-day operational leadership of the charity, ensuring that its systems, processes, and teams are aligned with strategic objectives and compliant with relevant legislation.

This position will lead on programme delivery, financial management, human resources, IT infrastructure, risk and compliance, governance, and facilities management, ensuring that the organisation operates smoothly and sustainably. The post-holder will act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), embedding a strong safeguarding culture across the organisation, and also be responsible for policy development and culture and wellbeing. 

As a key member of the senior leadership team, the Operations Director will work closely with the CEO, Board of Trustees, funders, partners, and staff to drive organisational effectiveness and ensure that the charity can continue delivering high-impact work.

Overview

We will be launching our new programme from September 2025, initially as a pilot working with families across Wandsworth, with aims to be able to expand and continue beyond this.

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Family Support Manager to play a pivotal role in establishing our new Family Support programme. Your initial focus will be leading on the development of the service, implementing policies and procedures, building referral pathways, and recruiting a team of skilled Family Support Workers.

Once the service is established, you will manage a high-quality programme providing support and guidance to families facing complex challenges. Your role will involve overseeing a team of Family Support Workers, case management, fostering effective collaboration with internal and external multidisciplinary teams, and leading the service under a shared vision to ensure the well-being of children and their families.

Using a restorative approach, you will develop strong relationships to support families and empower them to take an active role in their own support plans and interventions, helping them build resilience and make informed decisions. This role would be an exciting opportunity for a qualified Social Worker or an experienced professional with a background in setting up and developing family support services. About the role

At the Motability Foundation we fund, support, research and innovate so that all disabled people can make the journeys they choose. We oversee the Motability Scheme and provide grants to help people use it, providing access to transport to hundreds of thousands of people a year. We award grants to other charities and organisations who provide different types of transport, or work towards making transport accessible. We also carry out ongoing research, in partnership with disabled people and key stakeholders in the industry, to inspire innovations that continue to champion accessible transport for all.

This role is an exciting new opportunity to shape and deliver on Motability Foundation’s aims to become more insights led and to systematically involve disabled people in our decision making. You will support the Head of Insight and Evaluation in providing the organisation with insight drawn from existing research, primary research, business data and through user insight. The role will lead development of a user insight approach and clear mechanisms to involve disabled people in the Foundation’s decisions systematically. The role will establish a user insight research community (akin to a customer panel but broader in scope), which the organisation can draw from for user insight.

The role is also responsible for delivering a strategic research and insight plan for the organisation to inform operational and strategic decisions, including feeding into our strategy mid-term review. Others in the organisations will also carry out research and hence this function has a role in setting standards for quality research, a coordinating role in ensuring a cross-organisational understanding of ongoing research to avoid duplication, and to draw insights and disseminate these to relevant internal and external audiences.

What you’ll be doing

• Support the head of team by developing a strategic insight research plan.
• Lead the delivery of the insight research plan, including developing clear research briefs, working with external suppliers to deliver research and where appropriate deliver research in-house.
• Establish a user insight capability in line with good practice and mature this capability over time.

Nice to haves

• Experience of disability inclusive research – this is essential to the role. However, we will ensure appropriate training for those who do not have these skills.
• Proficiency in qualitative and quantitative data analysis tools (e.g., MAXQDA, R) and data visualisation platforms (e.g., Power BI).

Reporting lines and relationships

Extra Information

• The role is based In Harlow, Essex at Motability’s offices, easily commutable from London, 30 minutes from Liverpool Street station or 18 minutes from Tottenham Hale station. We offer a shuttle bus from the Harlow Town train station to the office.

The membership of the Royal Statistical Society (RSS) constitutes a preeminent source of statistical expertise. Members work with RSS staff to support our work across areas such as policy development, education, training, statistical communication, and statistical literacy. Communicating what we do is important to ensure that our work has impact, and that our members are informed. 

Job Purpose:

The main purpose of this role is to lead and coordinate communications activities across the Society’s policy and external affairs activities, ensuring that our work is communicated strategically and visible to appropriate audiences.

Key responsibilities:

Understanding opportunities and the changing external environment  

• Develop our understanding of the preferences and needs of our key internal and external audiences to better align our policy and external affairs communications to those preferences and needs. 
• Monitor and respond to emerging trends to ensure our communications channels and content for policy and external affairs remain timely and relevant.
• Build a network of key contacts across critical and adjacent organisations to maximise potential routes into influencing decision-making and make the best use of resources through collaborative working. 

Development of strategies and plans

Working for the RSS

Pension and benefits

Our defined contribution pension scheme can be joined after three months in post. Your contributions of up to 8% of salary will be double matched by the Society (making a maximum contribution by the Society of 16%). A training budget, season ticket loan, cycle to work scheme and employee assistance programme are also available. 

Location

The RSS office is in central London. We offer flexible working arrangements, and this is a hybrid role with a minimum two days a week working in the office. In person attendance for certain meeting is required, including all-staff / team meetings and governance / committee meetings that take place in person. Limited travel within the UK and internationally may be required.

Working hours

35 per week full-time. Applications for job shares, part-time and flexible working will also be considered. The post-holder will be the point of contact for any out-of-office hours press queries.
