Lead the review and development of HR policies and processes to ensure that they embody People’s Economy’s values, and support effective working and staff wellbeing, drawing in external expertise as necessary.

Lead the development and implementation of recruitment processes for staff vacancies, ensuring compliance with People’s Economy’s recruitment policy and employment law.

Lead the implementation of formal HR processes e.g. disciplinary processes, contract variations, and act as the key point of contact with People’s Economy’s external HR advisers.

Support the Executive Director to implement People’s Economy’s Diversity, Inclusion and Anti-Oppression (DIAO) policy and lead the annual process of reviewing and updating the policy, and relevant organisational systems and processes to support the implementation of the policy.
Finance

Lead People’s Economy’s financial management and control, including:

Manage People’s Economy’s book-keeping and payroll providers to ensure that high quality records of income and expenditure are maintained and the smooth operation of supplier payments, invoicing, payroll and pensions contributions.

Oversee the timely production of regular financial reporting including management accounts, cash forecasting and quarterly reporting to the Board. Scrutinise regular finance reports and work to resolve any issues identified.

Liaise with People’s Economy’s accountant and manage the annual process of independent examination and producing year-end reports and accounts.

Lead on financial planning, including the preparation of an annual organisational budget and lead on updating budget information throughout the year.

CLT is based in London but we work remotely most of the time. You will need to be able to get to meetings in London 1-2 occasions per month.

About you
You will need to be experienced in technical charity finance matters – for example, partial exemption VAT, Gift Aid, reserves reporting, primary purpose trading – and be able to present charity numbers clearly to a range of audiences.
You’ll be confident in putting together and assessing cashflows and financial appraisals and communicating your conclusions.
You’ll have great IT skills, especially with Excel, so that you can minimise the time you spend on bookkeeping and administrative tasks.
You will probably have experience of being the sole finance person or the most senior person in a small charity or SME. You will be excited about the thought of a role that involves both detail and strategic oversight.
You probably won’t have experience of every single issue that will come your way in this role but you’ll have a proven ability to research issues that are new to you and use your networks to come up with practical solutions.

The Role
We have an exciting opportunity to join us in the brand new role of Governance and Executive Officer.
You will provide proactive and efficient secretariat and administrative support to the Executive and Non-Executive Teams, working closely with the Leadership Team to support the fulfilment of their day-to-day tasks and strategic objectives.
The role includes supporting and organising meetings and reports, and minuting of executive meetings. In addition to general PA and administrative duties, you will provide a cohesive secretariat function to support the smooth and efficient operation of the Mind THNR Board and its sub-committees.

Members work with RSS staff to support areas such as policy development, education, training, statistical communication, and statistical literacy.
The Director of Professional Services is responsible for our professional affairs activities, overseeing the creation, maintenance and application of relevant standards through our professional affairs committee, and certification and accreditation schemes. They are also responsible for member recruitment and management, ensuring we continue to attract new RSS members and partners, and that their needs are met. They also oversee a range of activities that engage RSS members (including groups that bring members together on a topic or geographical basis, RSS honours and awards, and our volunteering opportunities), securing both our impact on society and member retention.
Informed by an in-depth understanding of the needs of members and prospective members, the Director manages these activities strategically across the organisation, bringing relevant staff together within small teams working on defined goals that support our objectives, foster a sense of value and community for all members and ultimately lead to the growth in membership and impact of the Society.

By fostering connections within local, regional, and national ecosystems, the team plays a vital role in ensuring that every kinship carer has access to a supportive community.

About the role
This role is community-based and focuses on engaging kinship carers, bringing them together to form Peer Support Groups, and supporting them to achieve independence at which point they will receive ongoing support from our national Hub.
You will do this by working with local authorities, schools, other charities and community groups. Arranging information events such as coffee mornings to engage kinship carers. You’ll create a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive community for kinship carers, building belonging, resilience, and empowerment.
Funded by the Department of Education, the National Peer Support Service is a game-changing service that creates a sustainable and life-changing legacy. It builds on Kinship’s 10 years of experience in developing peer support groups and two years of delivering a national service that has set up 145 new groups.
Who we are looking for
We are seeking an individual located in easy reach of Greater Manchester and South Yorkshire, who possesses the drive, passion, and skills to:
· Develop new Peer Support Groups across a diverse range of communities
· Demonstrate the energy and enthusiasm required to achieve key targets and objectives
· Work collaboratively within the Peer Support and Community Team, as well as throughout the broader organisation, to ensure the development of safe and effective support services for the kinship community.
· Maintain current Peer Support Group levels, taking the lead from the national Hub.
· Maintain accurate records that are used to populate reports, identify learning and share key insights across Kinship that allow the organisation to continuously improve our services and products.
You should have experience in developing and maintaining meaningful relationships with various community-based stakeholders such as local authorities, health services, schools, charities, and kinship carers. You will need to understand the key success factors involved in establishing and developing new in-person groups in areas of high need, as well as how to support existing groups in their journey towards sustainability.
As a practical thinker, you will work creatively to identify stakeholders and assets in areas of high need. You will build local connections and bring together kinship carers across the region, empowering them to build resilient and robust peer support communities.
You will be confident in building relationships that generate referrals from external stakeholders and in contacting kinship carers directly to secure engagement with local coffee mornings, community, and training events that will help kick-start a thriving peer support group.
As you establish new groups, you will provide support and training to help them lead their groups effectively, and develop their group culture, resilience, and skills to function independently while offering reassurance and support to empower them.
We are ideally looking for candidates based in easy reach of Greater Manchester and South Yorkshire. Key development areas for this post will initially include; Oldham, Bury, Tameside, Doncaster, York and the East Riding of Yorkshire. You may be required to support the development of groups in North Lincolnshire. This role may also involve work to establish groups on the periphery of this area that currently have no dedicated Development staff.
An essential requirement of the role is to be a driver with access to a vehicle for work purposes.
Key responsibilities:
Service delivery:
- In-person (face-to-face) strategic outreach into local communities including setting up and attending local engagement events.
- Set up and develop sustainable in person peer support groups, initially attending and leading sessions in person before transition to self-sufficiency.
- Working with existing groups that are at risk, closed or need support that need replacing or rejuvenating to maintain DfE service level agreement, in addition to new groups. Targets are subject to change and are not fixed.
- Recruit and retain support group leaders to develop their peer support groups.
- Assist with the delivery of training to support group leaders and groups to become self-sufficient.
- Develop strong boundaried and positive relationships with support group leaders – building resilience, empowerment and community.
- Support established groups (including independent) in your area to access support group leader networks and training (this includes visiting groups in person) to build a peer community.

And to provide timely and trusted information and support to people diagnosed with breast cancer. This involves responding to safeguarding issues, collecting data, and deliver excellent information on the phone.
The role also involves collaborating with colleagues focusing on the Here for You expansion and integration, as well as working with colleagues across the primary services, secondary services and personalised support services. The role also liaises with our Helpline team.

Purpose of the role
To support Lifelites’ Services team in designing, developing and delivering the multi-channel Lifelites Learning programme. Assisting the Lifelites trainer to deliver training for staff across children’s palliative care in person, online and through e-learning. Lifelites Learning complements the provision of Lifelites technology packages, increases confidence and skills of staff and provides high quality, accessible learning resources to maximise the impact of assistive technology.
The role will also provide vital support and resilience to Lifelites technology provision Lifelites 25, our exciting expansion programme, which will take Lifelites’ services to the wider children’s palliative care sector.
Main duties and responsibilities
Training Development
- To support the Lifelites trainer with the design and development of Lifelites’ high quality installation and ongoing learning and development programmes
- To assist in producing bespoke training itineraries, handouts and user guides for installation and ongoing training sessions aligned to Lifelites technology installation schedule
- To support the development and implementation of Lifelites e-learning platform, including course modules and interactive learning
- To assist in creating and publishing simple, intuitive and accessible user guides on Lifelites’ Learning Hub
- To work with the Head of Services, Trainer and Lifelites technology service provider to identify and evaluate new assistive technology solutions suitable for implementation within children’s palliative care settings
Delivery
- To support the delivery of Lifelites face to face and online training sessions
- To deliver ad hoc face to face training, super user and showcase training sessions for Lifelites staff and other partners as required
- To deliver training for new services supported through the Lifelites 25 Programme.
Co-ordination and monitoring
- To work with the Trainer to respond to queries and training requests and schedule installation and ongoing training sessions for children’s palliative care partners
- To capture and record training monitoring data, contributing to internal and external communications, evaluation and reporting processes
- To represent Lifelites within children’s palliative care settings and forums, providing feedback for Lifelites’ staff on emerging issues as required

The role
We are seeking a Business Assurance Manager to join our organisation, working closely with the CEO and our Senior Management team. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the organisation, including front of house, quality and governance.
The post holder will oversee timetables, reporting, system quality assurance and processes to ensure they are running smoothly and to agreed timescales.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee the development and implementation of a framework of quality, business assurance and risk management ensuring that all key activity takes place to the desired quality
• Provide high quality and high-level administrative, co-ordination support to the CEO and SMT • Ensure the smooth running of our governance systems including the Board and Sub Committees.
• Under the direction of the CEO, undertake reviews of quality and governance within the organisation Business Assurance Manager 2024
• Manage, organise and prioritise own workload in response to the service and team requirements.
• Track agreed actions to ensure implementation is achieved against targets
• Manage the agenda and produce the required papers for Board and sub-committee meetings
• Update the SMT to ensure that the frameworks remain up to date, relevant and fit for purpose
• Undertake regular compliance checks against our policy review dates
• Work with the CEO and SMT to ensure the risk register is regularly reviewed, updated and actions are followed through
• Interpret, build upon and comply with company quality assurance standards
• To accurately input, collate, extract and deliver electronic data for monitoring purposes and assist with producing reports, in a timely manner

About the Investment Team
The Investment Team is responsible for selecting charity partners, managing our charity investments and supporting our charity partners to improve and scale their impact.
The Investment Team also leads the Impetus Leadership Academy, a leadership development programme to support talent from ethnic minority backgrounds in the UK youth sector to progress into senior leadership roles.
The team is made up of 18 people, including former teachers, charity chief executives, charity impact leads, management consultants, social investment portfolio managers and impact consultants.
The team is led by a Portfolio Director who sits on the Senior Management Team. The Portfolio Director has 5 direct reports: a Deputy Portfolio Director, three Sector Leads (who lead our work in School engagement, School attainment and Employment Sectors) and an Impact Lead. Sector Leads line manage 6 Investment Directors. Investment Directors line manage Investment Managers (currently 5). Investment Directors and Investment Managers tend to primarily focus on a sector but might have mixed portfolios, depending on need, experience and interest.
The Investment Team has a good track record of role progression. All four Leads and a number of our Investment Directors were promoted from within the team.

Job description – Investment Director
The Investment Director (ID) is a key member of the Investment Team, playing a leading role in identifying, assessing, and supporting portfolio partner charities and other non-profit organisations to deepen their impact and scale their outcomes. This role works closely with other Investment Directors and Investment Managers to deliver external facing support to portfolio partners as well as internal projects to support the development of the investment model and portfolio strategy.
Investment Directors use strategic thinking, analytical rigour, and senior relationship skills to support a portfolio of amazing organisations that, together, will help shift the life chances and outcomes of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds in the UK.
Key responsibilities
Finding high potential charities and non-profit partners for our portfolio
- Identifying potential charitable organisations for investment.
- Leading in-depth due diligence process to assess and build partnership foundations with potential partners – covering leadership and governance, and their impact, scale, and partnership potential.
- Modelling from first contact of origination, our approach to engaged and trust-based investment management support.
- Developing and championing high quality investment propositions to our Investment Committee.
Managing partnerships with portfolio partners
- Managing relationships with partner Chairs and CEOs
- Agreeing Service Funding Agreements, including appropriate annual investment milestones to allow for a clear assessment of re-investment potential at end of phase
- Regularly monitoring and assessing partner progress / risks against milestones and making recommendations for progression or exit
- Escalating key risks on performance, leadership and safeguarding
- Conducting annual partnership review with Sector Leads and partner CEOs
- Working with Impetus Finance colleagues to ensure timely distribution of grant payments, in line with Service Funding Agreements.
Supporting portfolio partners
- Providing direct support to CEOs and senior colleagues on key strategic topics, using a mix of at least monthly one-to-one meetings and group facilitation to:
- clarify theory of change
- define long term ambition
- develop growth strategy
- achieve a step change in the delivery and performance management of outcomes
- strengthen leadership (individual and collective) and governance capabilities
- develop path to scale
- build financial resilience
- Scoping and project managing pro bono capacity-building projects (in addition to providing direct management support). Ensure projects are delivered to a high standard and contribute to charity progression
- Identifying engagement opportunities for our donors and supporters with charity partners that are aligned with the charity’s activities and do not distract or undermine their core work
- Collaborating with Impetus philanthropy team to develop new funding streams (additional to direct Impetus grant funding) that support our partners’ ability to deliver impact at scale
- Effectively leveraging the support of investment managers to advance the objectives developed for each charity partner that is managed by an Investment Director
