About the team
Part of our Strategy Enablement Directorate, the Data & Insight Team delivers high quality data and database management, administrative services and business insight to the department and other teams across Shelter. Custodians of supporter data for its full life cycle, running through everything we do is a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of data quality and embedding a culture of standards, both in terms of compliance and best practice across the department. We work closely with the wider team including our Head of Data and Insight, Data Architects, Data Engineers and Insight Analysts to help Shelter achieve its organisational strategy in helping the fight to end homelessness.

What's the role about? 

As part of the financial planning and reporting team you will support the finance business partners and be responsible for delivering business analysis support and insight (e.g. data analysis, financial analysis, process mapping, etc.) to projects and programmes across the UK that support the RSPB 2030 strategy. 

Key activities will include: 

Supporting the RSPB Finance and Transformation team in delivering business analysis to support key finance-centric projects and programmes. This includes, but is not limited to:

- Data analysis
- Process mapping and review
- Financial analysis and reporting

Supporting the project and programme managers in developing robust business cases, modelling financial impacts and risks, and reviewing and tracking financial benefits
Communicating and engaging with colleagues and stakeholders at a variety of levels. You will be confident in articulating your business analysis work in a number of ways and will be able to confidently engage Senior Management to drive and manage positive change and maintain their support throughout your business analysis.

• Educated to degree level and/or have sufficient experience to be able to carry out the duties to a high level.
• Knowledge of financial management and processes (including double-entry accounts).

Working closely with the finance business partners and commercial operations teams, this role will develop models to review commercial bids and acquisitions and provide insight to senior leaders on value drivers to inform decision making around bidding strategy and financial planning. About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Knowledge Team, working alongside two existing Research Associates and a Data Analyst. 

You will be integral in delivering research, data, and insights that support organisational development and programme delivery across NYA.

We are looking for an experienced mixed-methods researcher with a strong understanding of social research and evaluation approaches. Ideally, you will have experience working in or alongside the youth sector and be confident using both qualitative and quantitative methods.

This role is ideal for someone looking to make a tangible difference through evidence-led approaches that shape policy, practice, and impact in youth work.

Key responsibilities for this role will include:

• Designing and delivering research projects using a range of methods including surveys, interviews, and focus groups.
• Supporting the development of the NYA research and data hub, including external research collation and data visualisation.
• Leading on evaluations to meet funder requirements and contribute to NYA’s growing evidence base.
