What the role involves
- Work with the CEO, Senior Leadership Team and Board to set the financial strategy for Safer London.
- Lead the development and delivery of the Finance function, including financial systems planning, risk management and payroll and pension activities.
- Lead on the preparation and monitoring of the annual budget and oversee all financial reporting - including forecasts, management accounts, cashflow statements and annual audit.
- As a member of the SLT, take collaborative corporate responsibility for the leadership of the organisation.

We are seeking a highly motivated and self-driven individual to join our Fundraising Team as the Community and Events Fundraiser. You will lead, plan, cost and deliver an exciting and varied community fundraising programme to grow income and a strong return on investment. You will need to work closely with the Director of Fundraising to shape the plans and resources required for the future.
The post holder will require a good knowledge of fundraising and considerable energy and enthusiasm that will inspire patients, visitors, hospital staff and the local community to choose Southampton Hospitals Charity as their preferred charity.
Main Responsibilities
Hospital engagement and Community Relationships
- To create and increase awareness of fundraising for Southampton Hospitals Charity across all University Hospital Southampton sites working closely with the Marketing and Communications team

Knowledge and experience

Job Description
Salary Range: £29,000 to £34,000.
Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week. Consideration will be given to four day working and other flexible arrangements.

Key Responsibilities
To work closely with the Evidence & Advocacy Manager (EAM) to develop and implement a series of impactful evidence and research projects that support our advocacy messaging, as well as internal and external learning for inclusive programmes and advisory work. These projects will build on established workstreams alongside developing new ones to maintain and extend CBM UK’s evidence base.
Disability Evidence, Policy Research and Learning
With EAM support the ongoing CBM UK Research and Evidence workstream, through:
1. Translating evidence from our programming countries and projects to produce and contribute to a range of resources to influence FCDO and other stakeholders. Tasks to include managing and maintaining established outputs, such as the CBM UK Project Evidence Briefs and Disability Voices paper series, generating new thematic papers, as well as policy and position papers to enhance effective advocacy submissions, briefing notes, blogs and other messaging on key disability rights issues.
2. Working collaboratively within CBM UK and across CBM Global to help develop and to deliver new policy research, drawing on mixed methods and data sources including national and international databases, using qualitative approaches including participatory or citizen generated data, and new empirical work.
3. Supporting Programme staff to improve impact and learning practice in CBM UK funded projects, provide technical support for the implementation of programme related research and data collection, including MEAL.
4. Providing technical research support into the development of proposals for new grant funded projects, and, where successful, support the management of subsequent research projects.
5. Keeping abreast of new research and publications on key themes and priority concerns within the CBM UK Advocacy and Influencing Strategy, taking into consideration sector trends and developments, and ensure this is disseminated to relevant staff within the CBM UK Team.
6. Keeping watch on UK policy environment and conducting research and analysis to support CBM UK advocacy messaging on disability and human rights.
Dissemination and Communications

Purpose of the role
As a member of the research and evaluation team, the Evaluation and Learning Lead is responsible for the development, co-ordination, delivery and impact of NDTi’s commissioned, grant and trust funded evaluation and learning work. The post holder will manage and deliver a portfolio of evaluation and learning projects and will contribute to wider programme activities as required.
The person NDTi appoint to this important role will:
- develop, lead and deliver evaluation and learning projects and act as liaison for staff and associates involved in delivery of NDTi’s evaluation work.
- identify and share learning and insights generated by our work, showcasing the team’s innovative approaches, partnerships and achievements.
- design and develop evaluation and learning methodologies and materials, maintaining a consistent and high-quality approach to R&E work across NDTi.
- maintain a steady pipeline of opportunities, negotiating, securing and project managing a range of evaluation and learning contracts.
- ensure that our evaluation and learning work is co-produced with a range of stakeholders, including people with lived experience.
- establish and maintain diverse networks, generating new contacts and work opportunities for yourself and others in NDTi.
- ensure that NDTi’s evaluation and learning work is impactful and influential.
Key activities
Delivering evaluation and learning projects
Day to day, the Evaluation and Learning Lead will project manage and deliver a portfolio of evaluation and learning projects ensuring that each is delivered on time, within budget and to the expected high standard.
Securing and managing contracts
- develop and invest time in nurturing diverse contacts, partnerships and relationships to ensure that NDTi’s evaluation and learning work has a significant and positive profile, influencing attitudes, and changing policy and practice in order to make society more inclusive.
- identify opportunities for, and lead on, the development of proposals and tenders to ensure delivery of NDTi’s mission.
Organisational and other responsibilities
- represent NDTi nationally, regionally, and locally in various networks and forums.
- ensure NDTi is presented as a values-driven, innovative and high-quality organisation that is up to date with policy and practice and delivers effectively.

Work experience & qualifications
- At least four years of experience of delivering leading edge practice in relation to evaluation and learning activities (e)
- Minimum of two years’ experience of undertaking fieldwork on evaluation and learning projects in a related field including quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis
- Demonstrable ability and experience of successfully tendering and applying for funding, developing and sustaining a viable pipeline of future opportunities (e)
- Experience of managing numerous and complex projects of varying size and length for different clients (e)
- Educated to degree level or with equivalent gained through professional experience and achievements (e)
