Responsibilities of our Senior Philanthropy Officer:
- The Senior Philanthropy Officer is responsible for helping to implement the Philanthropy team fundraising plan, aligned with the wider fundraising strategy, to increase annual net income and inspire new donors to give to Cats Protection while retaining existing supporters
- The successful candidate will manage a mixed portfolio of major donors and grant making trusts, using high value fundraising techniques such as creating bespoke cultivation plans for each donor to maximise their lifetime value

What we’re looking for in our Senior Philanthropy Officer:
- Strong experience gained in a charity fundraising role, with a good level of experience in high value fundraising

- Extensive experience of developing strong relationships with supporters/ clients
- Experience of using a CRM database
- Familiar with the IOF codes of practice relating to major donor fundraising

A proven history in driving and maintaining KPIs, compliance, and quality.
A confident use of tools like Word, Excel, and other everyday IT systems.
You will need to work flexibly, as required and be prepared to frequently travel across the area

Our Finance team is looking to recruit a Finance Officer to join our Accounts Payable (AP) team to support the work and transactions that British Heart Foundation (BHF) perform for us to fund lifesaving science.
As an Accounts Payable Finance Officer, you'll:
- support the team and deliver a high-quality service in terms of timely, accurate and efficient entry of BHF expenditure onto our central accounting system
- ensure you achieve key performance indicators and individual targets agreed upon and set by the AP Team leader
- ensure that all transactions are coded and authorised to meet month end deadlines and meet agreed service levels.

Working arrangements
This is a blended role, where your work will be dual located between your home and our London office.

About you

Do you have experience as a Team Leader or Store Manager in a retail store?
We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate Store Manager to join Barnardo's on a Full Time, Permanent basis.
As a Store Manager you will manage the day to day running of our Galashiels-Scottish Borders Store, leading a team of colleagues to maximise store sales and profits. By doing so you will play a crucial role in raising the funds for the amazing services and support Barnardo's provides for children, young people, parents, and carers across the UK.
Location: 63-65 Channel Street, Galashiels, Scotland, TD1 1BN
Working Pattern: As the store is open 7 days a week, the successful post holder will be required to on a rota basis which will include weekend, evening, and bank holiday working.
Some but not all key responsibilities are:
- Ensuring stock is generated over the door by members of the public and donors sign up to the Gift Aid scheme.
- Ensure that the high standard of service to customers that is expected by Barnardo's is maintained at all times.
- Implement promotions in the Store as directed by Head Office or your Area Business Manager.
- Maintain a high standard of presentation, both in the windows and the interior of the Store.
- Ensure there is adequate stock available on the shop floor, at all times, on all key lines
- Provide training, development, work reviews and appraisals for paid staff to enable them to perform their jobs efficiently and effectively.
- Create an organised and pleasant working environment for staff and volunteers.
- Actively recruit the correct/specified number volunteers to deliver the stores objectives and KPI's.
- Ensure all financial, cash handling and security procedures are adhered to as per the Barnardo's Manager's Manual and the relevant Retail procedures.
- Hold the shop keys, ensuring that the shop is secure whenever it is left unattended.
Idea Candidates Must Haves:
- Ability to deliver excellent customer service.
- Experience of managing people
- Ability to liaise and respond to a variety of people from varying backgrounds.
- Ability to meet the needs of customers on a face-to-face basis, in order to generate sales and increase customer usage of the shop.
- Ability to add, subtract, divide, and multiply up to four figures in order to maintain budgets and complete accurately weekly income/banking sheets.
- Ability to handle cash and reconcile accurately.
- Proven experience of meeting targets and KPI's.
- Basic IT skills.

About the role
As one of our Senior Marketing Managers in the Brand team, you will be at the forefront of delivering the integrated Christmas campaign for 2025. You will lead the development, execution, and evaluation of this pivotal campaign, ensuring all activities are completed on time, within budget, and meet their targets. This campaign is crucial in inspiring more people to engage with and support the BHF’s life-changing, life-saving work.
Your role will be vital in maintaining consistency across all integrated activities and identifying and leveraging income-generating opportunities, as this is one of our most critical income-generating campaigns.
You will oversee the expert delivery of our brand messages and the application of our visual identity across all communications charity-wide. You will challenge agencies, partners, and in-house teams to create integrated and inspiring work that showcases the power of the BHF brand.
With a deep understanding of the charity, its strategies, objectives, brand challenges, and project priorities, you will contribute to briefs, develop creative ideas, and provide feedback to agencies and campaign leads. Collaboration is at the heart of this role, as you will help leverage, manage, and integrate key partners, including agencies and teams across the organisation, to increase income through established fundraising and brand initiatives.
This role is essential in helping BHF provide information and support to everyone affected by cardiovascular disease.
About you
With a strong experience in developing and leading integrated brand campaigns, you’ll be both innovative and creative, with expertise in brand and visual identity management.
You’ll have a CIM/IDM or similar marketing qualification and a proven track record in leading multi-channel marketing campaigns, preferably in charity or health marketing, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to brief.
Additionally, you have strong influencing and negotiating skills, with previous experience managing agencies and suppliers and fostering collaboration with diverse teams and stakeholders, using diplomacy and empathy.
To be successful, you will be:
- Proven experience in developing and leading ATL integrated brand campaigns
- Experienced in marketing activities across various channels and formats including TV, radio, outdoor, press, digital.
- Experienced in leading large external and internal partners in the delivery of an integrated campaign.
Working Arrangements
This is a fixed term contract until 31 March 2026.
This is a blended role, where your work will be dual located between your home and our London office (NW1 7AW).
