Our office is based in Downton and that’s where our monthly Executive Team meetings are held. The charity’s board meetings are typically held in London, so applicants are likely to be living in the south of England. We are a remote working charity, and colleagues in the Services Directorate are based in geographies right across the UK – our Service Director will need to be able to travel to stay connected with our work and responsive to external commitments.

Purpose of the job/About the role

As Reward and Benefits Manager, you will be the subject matter expert on all aspects of employee reward, ensuring Dementia UK has effective, fair and transparent pay practices, and a benefits package that sets us apart.

Working closely with the People and Finance teams, you will lead the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant monthly processing. You will manage all employee benefits for the charity, liaising with suppliers, negotiating favourable terms, and proposing updates and improvements. Additionally, you’ll provide training and support to the People team to enhance their knowledge of reward practices, and will ensure our pay and benefits offering is effectively communicated across the charity.

As our pensions expert, you will ensure compliance with relevant regulations across the Dementia UK Aviva and NHS pension schemes, including auto-enrolment. You will act as the main point of contact between the charity and our pension and payroll providers, fostering strong, productive relationships. You will also lead the annual pay review process, conducting market research, analysing relevant data, and recommending an organisational approach. With expertise in job evaluation, you will perform evaluations and advise on role design to ensure a consistent approach is applied.

To succeed in this role, you will bring experience in managing payroll and pensions administration, along with a strong understanding of best practices in staff reward and benefits. You will have worked within a UK HR department and possess a solid knowledge of UK employment legislation relating to employment, reward, pensions, payroll, and GDPR compliance.

People & Culture Advisor

GENERAL FUNCTION: 

The People and Culture Advisor will be instrumental in delivering efficient, timely and effective HR support and advice to employees, managers and leadership throughout the company. The role will be crucial in ensuring consistent and effective application of HR policies, procedures, and initiatives, thus having a positive contribution to a productive workplace.

General People & Culture Support:

· Acting as the primary point of contact for all IEU staff enquiries regarding policies, procedures, staff benefit, leave balances, and other general queries. 

· Supporting implementation of key P&C projects and facilitating ongoing process improvements.

· Support employee engagement initiatives, including recurring surveys and engagement sessions.

· Recommending new approaches, processes and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the People & Culture department and services performed.

· Remaining abreast of changes to UK specific legislation and Employment Law and communicating relevant changes to UK based staff in a timely manner. 

· Partnering with People & Culture Manager to deliver relevant training, ‘AMA’ sessions, and other initiatives as required.

· Coordinating P&C responses on behalf of IEU to internal and external audit requests.

· Supporting process and workflow development and data management within the Human Resources’ Information System as needed.

· Ensuring timely update of relevant databases, including group life cover, SMS Home Office system, and others

· Supporting, developing, and conducting staff trainings on People & Culture topics, policies, and processes

· Working closely with other members of the global People & Culture team to ensure the completion of standardized, efficient, streamlined People & Culture processes that supports a cohesive staff experience.

· Other duties as assigned by the People & Culture Manager

Employee Relations

· Providing first-level advice to employees, managers and leadership in line with UK employment law, best practice, internal policies and procedures and ACAS guidelines.

· Managing casework including, but not limited to: disciplinaries, grievances, absence reviews, flexible working requests, conflict resolution, redundancies, departmental changes, occupational health queries, performance improvement plans, etc.

· Producing and maintaining casework documentation, including Terms of Reference, minutes, notices, and follow-up correspondence.

· Escalating complex and/or unusual casework to People & Culture Manager.

· Providing coaching for managers on employee relations issues as requested.

· Ensuring all company policies remain up to date, periodically reviewing policies in order to implement relevant changes.

· Advising managers and leadership on the most appropriate casework steps, providing sound reasoning behind suggested options and clearly outlining potential risks.

· Maintain good working relations with all stakeholders, ensuring a discreet, diplomatic approach to Employee Relations issues as they arise.

· Maintaining excellent level of knowledge of current, recent and upcoming developments in UK employment law at a HR practitioner level.

· Managing all employee leave processes, including annual leave, sickness absence, maternity, paternity, adoption, TOIL, compassionate leave, etc.

· Escalating complex and/or unusual cases to People & Culture Manager

· Conducting exit interviews, identifying patterns and communicating to management in an aggregate form

· Producing periodic reports surrounding volume and nature of casework.

Payroll

· Processing timely updates of the payroll system records, including new joiners, leavers, student loan and salary sacrifice information and all variable changes.

· Ensuring all associated processes have been carried out in line with the supplier agreement and in good time.

· Serving as a liaison between the third-party payroll provider, P&C and Finance functions

· Producing all payroll related documentation including LoE changes, pay increases, maternity leave letters, deduction letters and other change letters as required.

· Generating a monthly pension report and timely uploading to the pension provider portal.

· Addressing all employee payroll and pay related enquiries.

QUALIFICATIONS

Head of HR Management, Culture and Learning

Key Responsibilities

You will be part of a small team of specialists who lead, advise and support the business and help deliver our strategy.

With around 160 staff members the HR Team play a hugely important role in all aspects from recruitment to learning, wellbeing to pensions. It is a small team, and we need someone with experience to deal with the multiple facets of HR and someone who is a “doer”. You should be as happy developing strategy as you are running a welcome induction. Life will not be boring, and you will work with some incredible people, and experience some incredible stories. You will go home every day knowing you have made a difference.

This role will require an experienced HR generalist with some knowledge of payroll. First and foremost, the postholder will lead the HR systems and management activity across KSS and ensure with the support of the team that the Core People Tasks are fulfilled to a high standard each month. Therefore, great team management and organisational skills are essential.

Secondly, the postholder in partnership with the People Business Partner will support the senior leadership team, managers and staff throughout the organisation to deal with HR related matters in whatever form they take. Ideally you will have an overview of organisational design and procedures, which will allow you to act as an adviser to resolve staffing issues/conduct, absence and sickness management, recruitment and retention. Empathy and an understanding of the importance of process are important characteristics.

Thirdly, with the core tasks complete there is then freedom to develop our approach to HR, internal culture and learning and put your own stamp on KSS. The postholder will work closely with all business areas to align the HR strategies with the business goals and organisational culture. By developing meaningful organisational-related policies, practices, and processes and, working with internal stakeholders, the postholder will take the lead on business strategies that could focus on a myriad of areas such as culture development, learning, organisational effectiveness, EDI, employee engagement or reward. The Role

- Skilled Communicator: Exceptional ability to communicate financial & wider insights clearly and effectively to stakeholders at all levels, including presenting to the Board of Trustees.

Working to help Keychange deliver the best support to our service users, this will be a varied role, including ensuring that our services comply with regulatory requirements, overseeing the delivery of our quality assurance framework, empowering our registered managers to deliver the highest standards of care and support, and assisting our Director of Operations in the smooth daily running of all operations across our nine community sites.

Role Overview: 

Reporting to the CFO and working closely with the tight knit Finance team, this role would be best suited to someone at the beginning of their Finance career. We are open to candidates who are AAT qualified, or working towards qualifications in ACCA/ACA. 

Central Services ensures the company operates smoothly and assists in working towards Enables strategic direction. Supporting the various services that make up Enable, Central Services consists of small and high output teams including Human Resources, Marcomms, Operations and Finance. Main Duties/Responsibilities:  

• Accounts payable and receivables: controls and processes 
• Processing purchase invoices: entering and coding invoices (including VAT) in Xero managing the approval workflow (by cost centre budget holders) as required
• Setting up weekly payment runs, expense pay runs and individual payments as required 
• Maintaining the aged purchase ledger ensuring invoices are accounted for on receipt and tracked through to payment 
• Supplier set-up: ensure appropriate supplier information is obtained

Role Overview: 

This role will offer the opportunity to work as a personal trainer across the Active Wellbeing Programme.

The Active Wellbeing Programme:  

The Active Wellbeing programme is a specialist mental health exercise referral programme. This programme is designed to engage and promote health and wellbeing to people diagnosed with a severe mental illness (SMI). The role will be working across the Kingston borough on our Active Wellbeing Kingston BME pilot service the option to work across our Richmond Active Wellbeing programme.

The role will be primarily working across the Wandsworth borough on our Active Wellbeing service with some areas into Richmond being available as follows:

Job Purpose and Dimensions 

• The post-holder will be responsible for delivering a 10 week, 1:1 personal training programme to clients with severe mental health illnesses (SMI) which can include: Bipolar, Schizophrenia, Severe Clinical Depression.
• The post-holder will be responsible for attending initial and final assessment meetings either side of the 10 week programme for each client assigned to them as part of the Active Wellbeing programme.
• Ensures that the service is provided to the standards required by the organisation, Government Legislation and governing body rulings.
• Deliver a one hour exercise session each week over a duration of 10 sessions per assigned programme client.
• Actively involved in programme assessments either side of the 10 session programme.
• Deliver an individualised physical activity programme to each client assigned

Main Duties/Responsibilities:  

• Design and deliver a weekly physical activity session for each client considering safety and progression with each of the 10 sessions.
• Engage in all client assessments prior to and beyond their 10-week programme
• Active engagement and design of goals and individualised exercise plans for each client
• Monitor clients exercise intensity, type, and ability to ensure clients are exercising safely.
• Monitoring clients mental wellbeing during sessions to ensure safety and communicating any concerns to the line manager.
• Responsible for arranging weekly sessions with clients.
• High level of communication between instructor and client to confirm session times and locations.
• High level of communication between instructor and line manager to report any concerns with a clients mental and physical wellbeing during sessions.
• Provide motivation and encouragement for clients to engage in sessions and stay engaged in their programme.
• Responsible for the setup of equipment for outdoor or online sessions.
• Responsible with checking in and out of sessions with the admin team to ensure safety of both instructor and client.
• Responsible for checking the safety of equipment. If equipment is faulty and needs to be replaced, responsible for communicating this with the Active Wellbeing programme coordinator.
• Responsible for administering first aid in the event of an accident and ensuring that safety requirements are met in all areas.

Skills and Experience:  

• Level 3 qualified personal training certification (essential)
• At least 2 years’ experience in a role that involves delivering face-to-face personal training physical activity support
• Experiencing working in a mental health setting and/or long term health conditions (essential)
• Experience working with vulnerable groups (desirable)
• Mental health first aid, suicide prevention or mental health awareness qualification (desirable) or willingness to undertake training (essential)
• Understanding of the principles of confidentiality and how these apply when handling service-user information.
• Understanding of the challenge’s vulnerable adults diagnosed with an SMI face in relation to independent activity and accessing health programmes
• Good ability to use Microsoft Office and Outlook email
• Ability to work with vulnerable adults with a wide range of social, health and wellbeing needs, inspiring trust and confidence, motivating others to reach their potential. 
• Excellent organisation, planning and time management skills.
• Able to commute to various service locations across the Kingston borough as required
