The Role

This is an exciting role that requires a mixture of skills in relation to learning and development.  You will be focusing on leadership and management development across the organisation.  This will include the design and delivery of innovative learning interventions that support the development of leaders and managers.

The L&D team want to step away from ‘traditional’ so you will need to be creative, motivated, and brave, generating and implementing new ways of enhancing the leader’s development.  You will have scope and space to try new interventions, evaluate impact and make a difference to the overall organisational strategy.

Key responsibilities include:

• Use your creativity and ability to experiment in introducing innovative and modern learning practices across the organisation

• Design and deliver innovative learning interventions that support leadership and management development across the organisation.

• Work with Subject Matter Experts and senior staff within the organisation to understand learning needs and develop the right interventions.

You will be a Mental Health and Wellbeing Lead who is passionate about supporting MAC-UK’s objective of working collaboratively with young people, innovating services and systems and their approach to mental health, to address health and social inequalities. We aim to support services to be more accessible, flexible and responsive to excluded groups, and to change the systems that lead to and maintain inequality.  This role will have management responsibilities and is ideal for someone who is looking to apply their proven management and therapeutic skills alongside the area of social action. 

We are very excited to be part of a pilot service, new in England working as part of a consortium of four organisations, alongside Lambeth Council. This will be a residential support service for young people aged 16-24 years at risk of serious youth violence, who are already caught up in the criminal justice system and at high risk of remaining part of the system.  You will be working across three London properties alongside a large multi-agency staff team made up of experts by experience/profession in psychology and therapy; youth work; offending; education, training, and employment (ETE) and housing. The service will work creatively and holistically to enable young people to exit environments involving youth violence, identify and reach their goals and aspirations, move on successfully to appropriate independent living, and importantly to sustain this life.  Wherever possible staff and young people will co-produce what this service looks like and what activities the young people engage in.

Role Overview: 

The Executive Director is a new role for RLS. Person Specification

Essential:

• Proven leadership in an organisation focused on human rights, migration, or a related sector.

• Strong strategic planning and organisational development experience, ideally in a fast-growing setting.

PURPOSE OF THE POST

We are recruiting a Policy Officer to undertake an exciting new role within the Advocacy and Communications Team. You will report to the Director of Advocacy and Communications and work closely with all others in the team.

The purpose of this role is to strengthen LFF’s policy and advocacy efforts. You will be crucial in helping to develop strategic engagement, influence change and strengthen LFF’s impact on public policy, and in doing so, make a significant contribution to the prevention of child sexual abuse.

About the role:

As a Caseworker, you will play a vital role in providing high quality, end-to-end support to victims of crime to cope and recover. You will be responsible for establishing contact with victims to assess the impact of crime and providing appropriate information and support. As the needs and experiences of our clients are wide-ranging, the support you will provide will range from brief interventions over the telephone to longer term 1:1 and telephone based support.

You will be working 7.5 Hours a day between 8am-8pm, as part of a rota covering Monday to Friday and the occasional Saturday.

You will need:

You will have the skills to provide effective crisis intervention, carry out risk assessments, safety planning, assessment of needs and individual support planning. You should have demonstrable experience of working in a similar setting or position. An ability to work independently and prioritise a busy workload is essential.

You will ensure, on a day-to-day basis, that all monitoring information and evidence is being recorded and collated in line with agreed processes, plus contribute to the services’ out of hours rota as required, while delivering a holistic support service working solo or with colleagues as the situation dictates is also a key aspect of this role.  This will include providing practical help such as social and housing support, accompanying to appointments, ETE options, benefits work, debt advice, and liaising with utilities.

• Proven experience of engaging positively with vulnerable young people or other vulnerable groups with understanding and knowledge of relevant policies and legislation
• Experience of providing support, advice and advocacy and communicating effectively, the needs of young people to other professionals
• Experience in working as part of a multi-agency team in a high intensity environment
• To have a relevant qualification to a good standard or be working towards one
• A knowledge of Housing Legislation for Young People and a sound understanding of the need to use support plans
• Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building and communication skills, verbal and written.

Role description:

Client management

2. To take lead responsibility for client case management for those released to your agreed area of engagement.

3. To ensure that client database and other records are kept up to date, accurate and of suitable quality.

4. To build links and bridges for people between life in custody and life in the community to which they return.

5. To directly mentor clients as required.

6. To support the reintroduction of clients into faith communities as appropriate.

Mentor management

7. Work in recruiting, maintaining and supporting an appropriate level and quality of mentors (inc. being on recruitment interview panels if needed and co-presenting training).

8. Take lead responsibility for the management and support of mentor/client relationships for your agreed area of engagement.

General management duties

9. To contribute to the future planning of FU and link in as appropriate with the Community Chaplaincy network to develop good policy and practice,
