The Criminal Justice Services Directorate is an incredibly important part of our organisation, delivering services in the community and in secure settings including Prisons, with a range of individuals and groups that have all been impacted by sexual harms (including sexual abuse, rape and sexual exploitation, or boys and men) alongside the impact on their families and friends.
Over the past 15+ years we have grown as an organisation, both physically and metaphorically, and we’re now supporting approximately 2,500 male survivors every single year across all our services in the Community Services Directorate and the Criminal Justice Services Directorate. The current state of the criminal justice system, the difficulties in the mental health system, the cost of living and other societal pressures will make the next few years both challenging and fascinating and you could get to help shape our local and regional response, along with influencing the national discussion on tackling sexual and domestic abuse, gender-based violence, and the ever-growing prison population.
This role is one that will give you the opportunity to use your:
- strategic planning skills;
- systems leadership experience;
- people management and influencing; and
- governance and performance leadership.
You’ll work with the Community Services Director and the Operations Director, and alongside the Deputy Chief Executive Officer to be part of the Executive Leadership team; whilst supporting and working with the Chief Executive Officer to ensure we make our vision a reality.
About Women in Prison
Women in Prison is a national, women-led, feminist organisation. We deliver front line support to women harmed by the criminal justice system, through our work in prisons, in the community and ‘through the prison gate’ as they resettle back into their communities. We also campaign for systems change that addresses the root causes of offending, reduces the harmful impact of prison, and creates workable, community-based alternatives to imprisonment.
This role will be based in HMP Bronzefield and our South London Womens Hubs, leading the development and delivery of specialist domestic abuse/family & significant other support with women impacted by the criminal justice system.
Key Responsibility Areas
- Lead on developing an effective domestic abuse/family & significant others intervention for women impacted by the criminal justice system
- Develop effective relationships with key stakeholders to ensure a collaborative approach to addressing women’s needs
- Provide expert advice and support to colleagues, including Women in Prison’s influencing team
- Provide effective leadership to direct report/s, ensuring teams are managed and supported.
Duties and key responsibilities
Lead on developing an effective domestic abuse/family & significant others intervention for women impacted by the criminal justice system:
- Lead the Family and Significant Other strand of support to create an intervention that assesses clients’ domestic abuse needs, providing expert advice and support, and developing a support plan to address identified needs.
- Provide trauma-responsive approach, undertaking risk and needs assessments that reflect each individual's situation and support needs.
- Ensure that interventions are responsive to and meet the needs of women from diverse and minoritised communities.
- Accurately document all client interaction on relevant databases, always working in line with Women in Prison’s case management policy, and data protection legislation.
- Support in the collation and production of reports, including ensuring that appropriate recording, monitoring and evaluation of work is completed to set deadlines.
- Completing DASH risk assessments and attending MARAC meetings where appropriate.
To develop effective relationships with key stakeholders to ensure a collaborative approach to addressing women’s needs:
- Work in partnership with key organisations, such as domestic abuse services, children’s services, housing departments, prison based teams, community organisations, to advocate for women’s needs around family and significant others.
- Take a collaborative multi-agency approach to supporting women, including representing and supporting women at multi-agency meetings.
- Contribute to strategic and operational meetings, such as performance review meetings with funders and partners.
To provide expert advice and support to colleagues, including Women in Prison’s influencing team
- Support the wider team to increase knowledge on DA legislation and pathways through providing support and advice, and training to internal colleagues.
- Support Women in Prison’s influencing work through actively contributing expertise into campaigns and ensuring that Women in Prison provides a platform for women’s voices.
- Contribute to development of new approaches and interventions that address underlying contributing factors to women’s offending and criminalisation.
Provide effective leadership to direct report/s, ensuring teams are managed and supported:
- Line manage direct report/s and ensure that all staff receive regular support, supervision and performance review, case management, training and development in line with WIP policies and procedures.
- Support the Link Worker with development of the programme.
- Ensure the Link Worker is linked in with wider South London Women’s Hub teams.

About the Role
We are now recruiting for a dedicated Through-the-Gate Project Worker to join our Criminal Justice and Detention Services team. This role will provide specialist support to migrant women being released from prison or detention into the London area and beyond.
The Through-the-Gate Project Worker will act as the main point of contact for referrals for women being released from prison or immigration removal centres. The role will involve managing a caseload of up to 15 migrant women who are in contact with the criminal justice system and / or under immigration restrictions, helping them to prepare for release and supporting them to resettle in the community afterwards.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining effective working relationships with statutory, partner and other voluntary organisations to maximise provision of support for women being released from prison/detention. The post-holder will also work as part of Hibiscus’ Safe Homes for Migrant Women project team, to improve provision of safe and secure housing for Black and minoritised migrant women.
[Please note: Successful candidates will need to have been resident in the UK for a minimum of 3 years to ensure the clearance process is authorised. The post holder will be subject to checks by the Disclosure and Barring Service and HMPPS security vetting]

About You
We are particularly keen to attract talent from Black and minoritised communities and those with lived experience of immigration and/or the criminal justice system.
The successful candidate will have significant experience working directly with women affected by the criminal justice system, the immigration system, or violence against women and girls. Experience working in a prison or detention setting would be an advantage.

About the role: Transform Justice is seeking a research and policy officer to play a vital role supporting its work for a better justice system. Working closely with the charity’s director and deputy director (and alongside our communications officer), you will conduct high quality research, draft policy briefings, and organise and participate in meetings and events. This role will support a range of projects including the next round of our innovative courtwatching project, and our research into victims’ experiences of the criminal justice system. You will also work closely with the director on a piece of research and policy work into the single justice procedure.
We are looking for someone inquisitive, flexible, and organised. The role is home-based using your own equipment, so you will need to be able to work on your own with minimal day-to-day supervision. The team meets regularly online and for in-person meetings in London, with the option to work together for a half day in a cafe on a weekly basis.
Main responsibilities and duties:

Role Summary
Together Women Leeds provides holistic wraparound support to women and girls and specialises in supporting women involved with the CJS, through 1:1 Keywork, group programmes and access to specialist gender-specific support via TW Women’s Centres.
We are seeking an individual with a proactive, compassionate, collaborative approach. We are looking for someone who is adaptable and highly organised, brings strong reporting skills, and is a great relationship builder. Experience of working in the women’s sector or the criminal justice system is desirable, but not essential – most importantly we’re looking for an outstanding manager.
At Together Women, staff wellbeing is a priority. With the support of a Deputy Manager, you will ensure our talented staff team are effectively managed, supported and encouraged to develop within their roles, enabling them to provide high quality, trauma-responsive support.
You will be responsible for the management of a range of services, ensuring high quality standards are consistently met and partnerships are established and maintained. You will lead the strategic development and operational effectiveness of numerous services, including the West Yorkshire women’s contract supporting other districts. Service Delivery and Management
- Lead the operational management of TW services in Leeds ensuring intensive high-quality, trauma responsive support is provided to women and girls accessing the services

This is an exciting opportunity as we are looking for two energetic people to join a new team of Restorative Justice (RJ) practitioners as we develop and build a successful RJ service for victim and offenders across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent.
RJ aims to bring together parties to repair the harm caused by offending and allows victims to be heard and have an opportunity explain the impact and consequences on their lives. About the Role:
This role is based in Stafford, co-located with Justice Services at Staffordshire Police Head Quarters. You will be expected to work flexibly across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent. The service will be delivered as per service user requirements and will involve some early evening and possible weekend delivery.

We’re here to prevent children from becoming involved in violence. We do this by finding out what works and building a movement to change things. We need to inspire and connect with youth justice services across England and Wales to spread what works and make our country safer for some of our most vulnerable children. We are looking for someone to lead on making this happen.
We are making good progress building the evidence of what works within and around youth justice to reduce violence, with new Practice Guidance and implementation resources due next year on diversion, mentoring and sports programmes. But the big risk is that we publish these resources and nothing changes. That’s where you come in!
Key responsibilities include:
Working out the best way to make this change happen by getting more senior leaders within youth justice to use our Guidance, toolkit, research and implementation tools to inform day to day operations and strategic decision making.
Creating practical tools and resources that help leaders put evidence into action.
Supporting the scoping and commissioning of behavioural insights research to support effective evidence mobilisation plans and strategies.
About you:
You understand the youth justice sector. You really understand how youth justice services work, from Heads of Services to frontline officers. You have experience working in/with youth justice, ideally in a role that worked with young people who are vulnerable to or involved in violence. You might have previous experience of supporting a youth justice to reflect on and adopt evidence-based practice.
You are fascinated about change and are experienced in making it happen. You have outstanding analytical judgment alongside the emotional intelligence and experience needed to identify the right opportunities for change, then make them happen. You understand why people find change difficult. You come alive talking about how people make decisions and why they do the things they do.

As an IDVA, you will be able to effectively work with men experiencing domestic abuse, and supporting them to increase their safety and reduce harm. You will be providing high-quality, front-line service to prioritise risk, primarily focusing on males aged 18+.
You will initiate, develop, maintain and monitor multi-agency links through attending meetings such as MARAC and DA (Domestic Abuse) Forums to keep safety central to all services for men suffering/have suffered domestic abuse. About the Role
We are now recruiting for an experienced Director of Operations to play a crucial role in guiding our driven and committed team as we shift our culture and infrastructure, upholding our vision, mission, principles, and values.
The post holder will work with colleagues to develop, implement and review Hibiscus’s strategy and plans, particularly as they impact our operating and finance models. They will be responsible for developing and monitoring the annual business plan, reporting progress and providing reliable structural, financial and people management. They will support the CEO in building and instilling a sense of unity and purpose into the work of the organisation, and represent the operational work to the Board. They will be responsible for the efficient running of operations and central functions, conducting risk assessments, monitoring performance and reviewing procedures, with a particular focus on overseeing the effective financial management of the organisation.
The successful candidate will be responsible for financial planning and producing financial budgets for the organisation, alongside monitoring projects from start to finish, preparing costings for funding applications, agreeing contracts and grant terms, monitoring deliverables and co-ordinating timely reporting. They will oversee the production of quarterly management accounts and yearly finance audits, and communicate the financial landscape of the organisation to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and Board. The Director of Operations will play a key role in risk and compliance, with a focus on data, safeguarding, policies and procedures, and legal and statutory requirements. They will work to increase the effectiveness of our operations, whilst supporting and contributing to the fundraising efforts of the organisation. The role of the Team Leader is to:
Ensure the effective delivery of services to victims in accordance with the London Adult Service against contract specifications, operating procedures, confidentiality, information sharing and safeguarding policies.

The Peer Mentor & Group Coordinator will play a pivotal role in the design, delivery and project management of the Maia group programme and Peer Mentor offer. A proven track record of proactively reaching out to young people, including girls and young women, in innovative ways and successfully engaging “hard-to-reach” service users.
You will have knowledge and understanding to create and manage a programme of inclusive, strengths-based, prevention and awareness-raising groups and workshops for YWG at risk, liaising with keyworkers and partner agencies to support YWG with their development and improve their relationships skills and the ability to proactively assess risks and safety concerns, liaising with YWG’s allocated keyworker, raising concerns with the Maia Service Manager and taking appropriate action to safeguard YWG whilst working within a model of empowerment.
You are able to learn from and engage with YWG to co-design groups and workshops programme and work closely with colleagues identify opportunities for YWG to make their voices heard and share their insights with a wider audience.
You will be able to effectively engage and recruit women with lived experience to act as Peer Mentors for the YWG engaging with the Maia service.
You will be able to develop resources and deliver a training package to Peer Mentors, including sessions on key topics such as safeguarding, data protection and confidentiality, building relationships and maintaining boundaries, active listening and risk and crisis management, as well as specialist workshops focused on the challenges facing YWG, including violence, abuse and exploitation and contact with the criminal justice system.
You will have experience in developing and maintaining links with partner agencies (statutory and non-statutory, including children and young people’s and women and girls’ voluntary services) across the six boroughs, raising the profile of the Maia service and developing specific referral pathways for Volunteer Mentors and the YWG they support where appropriate.
You will be knowledgeable and have a strong understanding of the challenges facing vulnerable young women and girls, including the impacts of domestic abuse, exploitation, mental health and contact with the criminal justice system, and of the practical and emotional support needs specific to this group, including education, confidence and relationship-building.

Caseworker (Kent & Sussex)
Job Role:
The Forces Employment Charity (FEC) delivers a specialist programme, OP Nova, to support veterans in the justice system who may be vulnerable, socially isolated, or need support to live or maintain a law-abiding life. FEC is seeking a dedicated and highly motivated Caseworker - Op Nova in Kent & Sussex to join our team.
Reporting to Op NOVA Regional Manager. The successful candidate will have experience in managing and supporting a caseload of vulnerable veterans in your allocated region. A strong customer focus and an ability to work independently to achieve targets and deadlines is an essential requirement along with strong communication and organising skills, knowledge of the local employment market, training, and adult education opportunities.
This position is full-time, 35 hours per week with a salary of £29,000 per annum. This role is peripatetic in nature. It involves regular travel across the operating region and working from home when not out in the community. The usual working hours are Monday through Friday, 9 am to 5 pm; however, there may be an occasional need to work outside core hours to meet the demands of the role.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Contact all clients within 48 hours of allocation
- Undertake needs assessments and develop support plan within 5 days of allocation
- Carry out an assessment using the Outcome Star, understand and record Employment and Housing status, and other assessments as required by the Regional Manager.
- Review Outcome Star assessments at 3 monthly intervals to understand and demonstrate progress.
- Work with and empower client to engage with the support plan and goals agreed during their needs assessment
- Produce written report when requested highlighting support given to client and level of engagement
- Work as part of a team, together with Justice staff and partner organisations providing specialist support to your client
- Support the regional manager and national manager to create and maintain strong working relationships with referring organisations in the Op Nova Area, including the Police and NHS Liaison, Diversion and Probation Service.
- To participate and deliver presentations, making use of the media available, to statutory and non-statutory agencies as required.
