The Hepatitis C Trust has developed projects nationally whereby peers use their lived experience of injecting drug use and hepatitis C, to provide education and training to service users and staff in drug and alcohol, hostel and homeless services, increasing hepatitis C awareness, access to testing and referral to treatment, for people living with hepatitis C.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Complete initial assessments, risk assessments and risk management plans ensuring a high standard of case management.
- Work with a caseload of people who have experience of homelessness, addiction, and/or the criminal justice system that want to improve their chances at moving into training, education and employment.
- Provide employability advice and a range of interventions with the aim of supporting them to improve their employability, access training, volunteering, and move towards employment.
- Lead on and develop the Good Shepherd structured volunteering programme for people in early stages of their recovery journey.
- Work with Peer Navigators from our LEAP team to provide additional support.
- Signpost and make referrals to external agencies and build positive working relationships with partner agencies across the city.
- Deliver one to one’s, workshops and group sessions.
- Collect, collate, and interpret data that is required to report on the outcomes achieved through this work.

Shannon Trust are delighted to be working with His Majesty’s Prison & Probation Service (HMPPS) to provide peer-led learning programmes at HMP Birmingham. Working closely with the prison and their staff, people in prison, Shannon Trust volunteers and mentors, this post will lead the delivery and development of our prison-based reading and numeracy programme, maximising opportunities for people in prison to learn to read.
Ideally you will have some experience of prison settings underpinned by the ability to build relationships and personal qualities that include resilience, determination and a problem-solving approach.
This role is prison based and will be a fixed term role until October 2025, with the opportunity to be made permanent - subject to contract renewal.

About the role:
This role is home-based and is open to applicants living in Devon and Cornwall who have access to an appropriately confidential space in which to work. The Role: The successful candidate will be working with adults in a residential setting delivering assessments, group sessions and one-to-one therapy to those admitted to the service. The post holder will offer an intensive, abstinent-based programme with high levels of group therapy and a strong emphasis on aftercare support. The role will include facilitating specialist psycho-educational groups, 12 step, relapse prevention therapeutic groups and individual counselling sessions.
You will work closely with our Supported Housing team and be required to participate in regular team meetings. You may be required to cover occasional evening Aftercare groups.
Main Responsibilities
- Undertake assessments of people entering the service through various referral sources.
- Develop, facilitate, and review a group work programme that meets the needs of our clients. These might include dual diagnosis, trauma, cross-addiction, criminal justice issues and various types of substance use.
- Provide a holistic package of care to individuals which meets their needs and includes working with colleagues across other teams to help residents with diversionary activities, employment, training, and education.
- Work with the Supported Housing team to ensure residents are safe, secure, and maintain their tenancies and are prepared to move onto independent living.
- Provide a range of one-to-one interventions that might include MI, person-centered care, CBT, DBT and trauma work.
- Manage a caseload of individuals with a wide spectrum of needs.
- Assist residents to understand the effects and benefits of any medication prescribed for them and the importance of complying with treatment regimes. This might include liaising with pharmacists, doctors, and psychiatrists for monitoring purposes.
- Provide psychoeducation to raise awareness and understanding of substances and their effects.
- Provide onward referral and liaison with wrap-around support within SCT to enable our residents to achieve social integration and personal development.

We are looking for an experienced (minimum 2 years) and proactive Volunteer and Community Engagement Co-ordinator who can successfully grow and take ownership of our volunteer program.

About the role:
We are looking for an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA) to work alongside our current specialist teams across Bedfordshire. This is a part time post working Monday to Friday, this is currently a hybrid working role.
As an IDVA you will be:
- Providing a high quality support and advocacy service to victims of domestic abuse.
- Managing a caseload; identifying and assessing risks and needs, providing a tailored crisis intervention service through individual safety planning, advocacy, emotional and practical support.
- Working with other agencies and advocating on behalf of service users in order to help them access services to keep them safe.
- Working within a multi-agency framework consisting of partners as well as MARAC and other local partnerships to offer a coordinated response to domestic abuse.
- Promoting the service and raise awareness of domestic abuse through the delivery of training to a range of local partners
You will need:
- Experience of working in support and advocacy with victims of domestic abuse is advantageous
- To be able to prioritise work and deal with competing or conflicting demands/needs and interests and promote organisation interests and values.
- To ideally hold a SafeLives IDVA accreditation, relevant degree, vocational qualification or relevant experience of delivering a service and working with domestic abuse victim's/service users in a statutory, voluntary or community work setting.

About the role:
You are able to work a hybrid with 3 days working from the office in Southampton and 2 days working from home.
As a Domestic Abuse Caseworker you will:
- Develop, deliver and monitor safety and support plans for those affected by domestic abuse who accept ongoing support, which will include providing resources, interventions, and information to all service users
- Liaise and actively engage with other local providers to share information on the VS service offer and options for victims and survivors
- Use a bespoke case management system to maintain accurate and confidential records and contribute to monitoring information including the collection of outcomes
- Working as part of a team with staff and the volunteer team to provide a seamless service to clients
You will need:
- Understanding of the impact of domestic abuse on victims
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Experience of successfully delivering services and working directly within a statutory, voluntary or multi agency setting(s)
- Ability to balance competing needs and priorities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience of building effective working relationships across internal and external stakeholders
- Personal resilience to manage exposure to highly emotional or sensitive demands of the role

You will be instrumental in ensuring day-to-day operations run effectively, allowing us to focus on providing crucial support to survivors of abuse.
This role combines leading operations and administrative support with trustee liaison responsibilities. It also encompasses management of a small team.
You will have a demonstrable strong background in compliance, leading administration, delivery of services and process driven requirements in a robust and highly effective way. To do this successfully you will also have developed communication, ICT and interpersonal skills, and have experience of leading operational processes, HR admin and data protection. Essentially, you will have a strong commitment to supporting our values and mission.
