The award-winning NSPCC Communications directorate is known for its talent, expertise and creativity in inspiring and challenging people to act on child abuse. We work collaboratively, both organisationally and across integrated communications disciplines, to deliver shared outcomes and measurable results through all available communications channels. 

We are looking for a skilled professional to join our Marketing and Planning team, which has a key role in driving awareness and understanding of our support for children, parents and professionals. We work closely with teams across the NSPCC to raise awareness of our vital services, behaviour change campaigns and income generation which helps us continue to fight for every childhood.

The Strategic Marketing Manager will focus on marketing to adults, in particular parents. They will lead a team of 3 to deliver our flagship behaviour change campaigns, Talk PANTS and Look Say Sing Play, working with colleagues across the organisation and external partners to expand the reach of our campaigns. They will lead on raising awareness of the NSPCC Helpline, that anyone can contact if they are worried about child and support wider priority campaigns that may include Brand and Online Safety. In addition, they will work closely with Income Generation, Services and Strategy and Knowledge on key projects and campaigns to ensure we are working together to maximise income and impact. 

The post-holder will have significant experience in leading insights-driven marketing strategies and campaigns that make an impact, from development through to delivery, overseeing a small team. They’ll be a great communicator, able to build effective working relationships and influence a range of stakeholders. They will be calm and measured to crisis coupled with an ability to make quick decisions. This individual will be highly collaborative in nature with a collaborative spirit in the immediate team and wider communications team. Alongside a desire to continuously learn and develop with a strong ambition to ‘make a difference’.

Job purpose

• The Marketing Manager will work closely with teams across the NSPCC to devise and deliver communications campaigns and projects across a range of disciplines. Specifically: 
• To lead the development and delivery of marketing and communications activity to promote behaviour change campaigns, Talk PANTS and Look Say Sing Play, NSPCC Helpline and other priority campaigns. 
• To line manage and support three roles (one senior officer, one officer and one coordinator) to achieve the wider team objectives. 
• To support and contribute to the Marketing and Communications planning process, particularly for our general public and parent audiences. 
• To evaluate communications activity in order to inform future activity.
• To contribute to the Communication Directorate’s purpose of ensuring that all communication is of
• an appropriate high standard, consistent with the NSPCC’s brand identity.
• To work efficiently with other teams and departments in promoting communications work, policies,

Main duties and responsibilities

• Lead a team to plan and deliver NSPCC’s flagship behaviour change campaigns, Talk Pants and Look Say Sing Play, managing both multi-channel paid marketing campaigns and utilise opportunities via owned/earned for promotion.
• To provide high quality marketing communications materials across a range of disciplines, working with relevant staff across the NSPCC.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation and external partners to expand the reach and impact of our campaigns.
• To develop insight-led campaigns and evaluate all marketing activity to make recommendations and improve future activity.
• To regularly share campaign plans and performance in senior forums.
• To keep abreast of relevant audience insight, competitor activity and best practice to inform campaign strategies and plans.

Person specification

1.A proven track record in developing and delivering high quality marketing and communications activities on behalf of large, national brands.

2.Experience of delivering strategic marketing and communications activities with a particular focus on inspiring behaviour change.

Amna’s identity and trauma informed approach is centred around community healing practices with communities that aim to restore participants sense of safety, belonging, agency and joy. The role holders need to have experience working with communities affected by adversity, including displacement, war and conflict, poverty, abuse or marginalisation. Given the nature of Amna’s work in emergency settings with displaced communities, applicants need to be comfortable working in environments where there is uncertainty, change and exposure to distress.

Amna will train role holders in Amna’s training and facilitation approach.

Responsibilities include: 

• To deliver high quality, interactive trainings in person and online.   

• To lead on Amna’s Gaza and Syria responses, working closely with a diverse, cross-cultural team and partners.  

• To develop Amna’s training materials including engaging content, structure, visuals and activities.  

• To provide ongoing support to Amna’s training participants from a range of countries on how to set up safe, community healing spaces with displaced communities.

• To facilitate learning and support groups for Amna training participants.

  Qualifications and Experience:  

• Minimum three years of experience working therapeutically with communities affected by adversities. 

• Minimum three years of experience delivering therapeutically informed community programmes in emergency or acute contexts using creative tools. 

• Experience working in a therapeutically informed way, e.g. working with sensitivity to the needs and experiences of the communities worked with.   

• Comfortable working in English – spoken and written.  

• Comfortable in designing and delivering content in Arabic.

• Confident computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office and PowerPoint.  

• Able and willing to travel for work (if you have travel restrictions to some countries, please notify us in your application).

• Right to work in the country of residency.  

Desirable: 

• Life or work experience with refugee or/and displaced communities.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Knowledge Team, working alongside two existing Research Associates and a Data Analyst. 

You will be integral in delivering research, data, and insights that support organisational development and programme delivery across NYA.

About the role

As one of two Regional Programmes Manager, you’ll inspire and lead a team of Senior Programmes Officers and Kinship Family Workers to effectively deliver high quality support services for kinship families across Greater London, the South of England and the Midlands.

You’ll do this by working in close collaboration with local authority teams who have commissioned our services and other funders where appropriate.

You’ll have accountability and ownership for ensuring we deliver impactful services for kinship carers and that we meet targets for our commissioned services. Working collaboratively with our other managers in other services, you’ll ensure we’re delivering high impact programmes.

You’ll ensure your team have real clarity and direction on their role and responsibilities - encouraging curiosity, learning and solutions-focused thinking. As a leader in the organisation, you are a key model for the team.

Your team will deliver the following programmes:

• Kinship Connected – in-person one-to-one support and support groups in the community
• Kinship Reach – remote one-to-one support and virtual support groups
• Kinship Ready – online workshops to prepare new and prospective special guardians for their role, as well as wraparound one-to-one support (in one local authority)

You will also manage a new role of Grants Officer - London, funded by the Aviva Foundation.

As one of our deputy safeguarding leads, you’ll be part of our key safeguarding structure.  This means you’ll take ownership to make sure our people feel confident and well supported to demonstrate best practice and making sure safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility.

Essential requirements include:

• Substantial experience in managing a regional service or programme with high quality outputs (national experience desirable but not essential).
• Substantial experience of managing, developing and evaluating effective and innovative services for families experiencing crisis and experience in reaching ‘hidden communities’ and a commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion.
• Experience of leading and managing continuous improvement in changing contexts.
• Experience of governance and managing risk on high profile service delivery.
• Experience of ensuring that services are designed and led with user needs at the heart, ensuring that the voices of our kinship carers inform ongoing design and development of our programmes.
