The Role

You’ll be part of our Financial Inclusion team, looking holistically at customers and their household circumstances and finding innovative ways to support them to make sustained changes. You’ll be working with partners, building new relationships both internally and externally, with an overall aim to aid our customers to become financially resilient.

Key Responsibilities:

• Developing and enhancing financial inclusion initiatives, with a primary focus on energy-related projects
• Collaborating with customer support teams to ensure impactful delivery of financial inclusion offers
• Supporting operational activities of Financial Inclusion programs across SNG communities
• Working closely with the Financial and Digital Inclusion Manager to identify new delivery partners and continue to develop financial inclusion offers for sustained positive customer impact
• Reporting and analysing on program impacts to evaluate value for money and guide future planning

Previous experience in a similar role, with an understanding of financial inclusion challenges and its impacts would be beneficial but isn’t essential. You will need:

The Community Fundraising Volunteers Coordinator is to drive and enhance fundraising efforts for Muslim Aid by planning, coordinating, and executing innovative fundraising events and campaigns across regional and national levels. The post holder will ensure that all activities adhere to regulatory standards and organisational promises, effectively represent the organisational in public forums and live appeals, and manage productive relationships with external partners to optimise outcomes. About the Role

1. Collaborate with the Fundraising team to optimise income through various community and innovative events, meeting agreed financial targets.
2. Possess a thorough understanding of the Muslim community and its key stakeholders.
3. Plan and manage fundraising and promotional events across the region, adapting successful strategies for national implementation. This includes participation in events at schools, businesses, mosques, and with community groups and the general public.
4. Coordinate volunteer involvement nationally, such as fundraising, administration and awareness raising.

The Role

• Identifying individuals, community leaders and existing community groups in Somerset we are not currently working with and work to build trust and relationships.
• Working with our communications team, pro-actively provide content for external communications to highlight our work, the Team Wilder approach and the work of the communities and groups we are working with.
• Finding creative ways to reach previously underrepresented groups/individuals who may benefit from improved access to nature and who could help to take-action for nature in their communities.
• Supporting and inputting to the Local Nature Partnership Nature and Wellbeing Sub-Group, chaired by Somerset Wildlife Trust, and Somerset Nature and Wellbeing Practitioners Network.

Responsibility 2: Supporting Communities/Groups with Nature Connection for Wellbeing

• Championing the ‘Team Wilder’ approach to help create a movement for nature, sharing skills, experience, knowledge and learning about community organizing within the Trust and through the movement.
• Involving SWT and community-based volunteers to support with reaching previously underrepresented groups.
• Using in-depth knowledge of the benefits of nature connection for maintaining and improving health and wellbeing and experience in this field to community groups to embed in the services and informal support and advice they provide.
• Signposting individuals and groups to local nature and wellbeing/nature connection opportunities within their communities.

Responsibility 3: Facilitating Events and Developing Resources

• Organising and facilitating public events and support community led events that aim to connect people to green spaces, recognizing the health and wellbeing benefits of doing so.

You’ll be raising funds primarily for School Plates, the flagship UK programme, to help school menus to become healthier and more planet-friendly by increasing the quality, quantity, and uptake of plant-based food. 

The programme is growing rapidly. Now working with 70 major school caterers feeding over 1 million children daily, we’ve roughly doubled our reach in each of the last two years. With a new educational programme to teach children about their food choices launching this year, and our School Plates Awards and Global Plant-based School Food Network both expanding considerably, there is a need to significantly grow our income.

The role is primarily a combination of major donor and corporate fundraising to complement our existing trusts and foundations fundraising. You’ll be an experienced relationship builder, a driven and enthusiastic self-starter, and an excellent project manager. Responsibilities

• Lead on UK fundraising, focusing on major donors and corporates.

• Develop a creative 3-year fundraising strategy, and draft annual and quarterly objectives.

• Support the stewardship of existing major donor relationships, keeping them informed and involved in our work to secure their continued support.
