Working closely with the CEO, the Audit, Finance and Risk (AFR) Committee and the Board, the Finance & Corporate Services Manager is responsible for the financial management of the charity on a strategic and operational level, and supports our corporate, HR and ICT functions. As a member of the Senior Management Team, this position provides leadership and support to the wider team, and line management of the Finance & Corporate Services Officer. This role is perfect for someone progressing their corporate fundraising career, but not yet ready to specialise in account management or new business. A priority will be to ensure that we really support and value our existing partners, but you will also have the opportunity to research and develop new opportunities with the Head of New Business. We are looking for a qualified finance professional to join our friendly team in the post of Head of Finance & Corporate Services as we develop our systems, infrastructure, and income streams to secure our long-term sustainability. Central to the success of our strategy is an efficient finance function providing timely management information and strong financial controls.

You will be an astute finance professional who is able to provide sound financial advice as well having a strong grip on day-to-day financial operations. You will also ideally have experience of HR, IT, and administrative functions, and will assume company secretary responsibilities, enjoying direct liaison with our Board of Trustees.

Main purpose and scope of role

Working closely with the President and the Board of Trustees, the CEO will provide strategic vision and leadership and will strive to ensure that IPWSO delivers its charitable purposes and remains successful and sustainable.

Duties and Responsibilities (to include but not limited to)

Leadership

· Strive to ensure that the charitable purposes of IPWSO are followed and that it delivers the public benefit set out in its governing document.

· Take overall responsibility for the management and administration of IPWSO.

· Provide support and information to the Board of Trustees to enable trustees to fulfil their roles and legal responsibilities.

· Pursue close cooperation with, and accountability to, IPWSO’s members.

Reporting to our Corporate Partnerships Manager, but also working closely with our Business Development Manager, you’ll support them both to deliver our annual volunteer targets and maintain our strong partner retention rate (currently 88%). This will involve supporting both the identification, acquisition, and onboarding of new partners, but also the account management of a portfolio of existing partners.

We are looking for a Corporate Performance and Reporting Manager in our Clerk of the Parliament’s Office at the House of Lords. This is an exciting opportunity to use your strong analytical skills and flair for communicating and engaging a range of stakeholders, to drive progress against our strategic objectives and report on our performance.

This is a hybrid working opportunity where you will work on-site at Parliament 3 days per week, with 2 days per week working remotely. This is a fantastic role for someone who enjoys working with varied and high volumes of data, can build strong relationships across a large organisation and can work in a fast-paced, unique environment.

You’ll be accountable for –

• Acting as operational lead for the Administration’s approach to corporate performance management, including the implementing and reviewing of the House’s performance management framework.
• Building partnerships with Heads of Office, service leads and others across the House to embed, co-ordinate and continuously improve performance metrics and baseline performance.
• Providing a leading voice in the co-production of the quarterly performance report to the Management Board and Finance Committee.
• Embedding performance measuring and reporting approaches that meet the best functional standards, using a range of management data to provide accessible and actionable insights.
• Working with other colleagues across Parliament to help to ensure that other performance monitoring processes allow for comparison.
• Working with Parliamentary Digital Service, and the House of Commons to develop common practices for Corporate Performance Management across Parliament.

What we’re looking for

• Corporate Performance Management knowledge including relevant experience of corporate performance management and corporate governance processes.
•  Strong Analytical Skills including the ability to gather and interpret complex information from a range of sources with differing data quality, visualising data to present the data in a meaningful way to both technical & non-technical audiences.
• Communication Skills such as the ability to find accessible, insightful and creative ways to present data in order to support the production of timely, credible and concise reports through a range of delivery modes.
• Building stakeholder relationships, with experience of developing effective working relationships and working collaboratively across a range of stakeholders in a complex environment, including with senior managers.
• Personal effectiveness with excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage your own time and deal effectively with conflicting demands.
• Organisation and forward planning including experience of planning schedules of work and liaising with others to ensure deadlines are set, maintained, and met.

Overall purpose

The Head of Corporate Partnerships is a key leadership role within the Income and Engagement Directorate. Breaking Barriers’ relationship with corporate partners is the USP upon which our growth and success as an organisation has been built. The Head of Corporate Partnerships has accountability for generating income, impact and influence from the private sector, and for leading a high-performing team to achieve ambitious growth and scale for refugees around the UK.

As Breaking Barriers has grown from a start-up organisation to a now 60-strong team raising c. £4m and supporting more than 1,200 refugees annually, our corporate partnerships have expanded beyond our original London base to be nationwide partnerships with a wide range of businesses and employers. Our corporate partners have been crucial in enabling our growth and will be crucial to delivering upon the ambition of our 2030 goals. The Head of Corporate Partnerships is an essential role that will make this ambition a reality.

You will lead a team to deliver outstanding partnerships management of a range of strategic and multi-faceted relationships with a portfolio of c.50 businesses alongside leading strategy for business development. Leading by example you will own a number of our key relationships to drive growth, whilst bringing your experience to bear to coach your team and ensure structures and processes are in place to enable high performance.

You will be:

• a creative and strategic thinker who doesn’t feel bound by traditional approaches to charity / corporate relationships,
• a keen collaborator, working closely with colleagues in our Services directorate to deliver high impact employability programmes for our refugee clients, and with the Head of Philanthropy and Head of Public Engagement to identify and drive cross-fundraising opportunities,
• an outstanding communicator, comfortable and confident in your ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders across the worlds of CSR, DEI and employability, and across the private, public, and third sectors representing Breaking Barriers at a senior level.

The Head of Corporate Partnerships will be part of Breaking Barriers’ Joint Leadership Team and will have overall strategic and budget responsibility for Corporate Partnerships. They will be a visible leader within the Income and Engagement Directorate and across the organisation, and will contribute to a culture of creativity, growth, innovation and entrepreneurialism that will drive us to achieve our 2030 goals.
