Being Individual Giving and Gifts in Wills Manager at St Wilfrid’s

We are delighted to offer the opportunity to join us as Individual Giving and Gifts in Wills Manager on a full time 37.5 hours basis.

This is a wonderful chance to support us by leading a small, close-knit team responsible for developing and delivering our individual giving fundraising strategy. You will also be focusing on donor development and acquisition, as well as retention and database management.

We are looking for a determined, skilled, proactive trusts fundraiser to join our small team in this newly created role to help stop children dying suddenly and without explanation.

Tragically, 1-2 seemingly healthy children die in the UK every fortnight, often going to sleep and never waking up. This incidence is unchanging. SUDC UK was founded in 2017 to raise awareness of Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood (SUDC), encourage and fund scientific research and offer support and advice to affected families.  We believe SUDC research should receive more attention and scientific investment and are inspired by efforts to impact SIDS (cot death), where there has been an 80% reduction in infant deaths in the past 30 years. We can do so much more for SUDC children and their families.

About the Role:

As the Educational Partnerships Manager, you will play a vital role in connecting with schools, colleges, and youth clubs across North East London, with a particular focus on those based in the most disadvantaged communities. This means you'll be working with schools that serve young people from areas with the greatest barriers to social mobility. Your mission will be to ensure these young people have access to life-changing opportunities, enabling them to develop vital skills, build an enterprising mindset, and prepare for a successful future.

You’ll be a key member of YE’s Educational Partnerships Regional Team, collaborating closely with the Educational Partnerships Regional Manager to drive the success of our enterprise and financial education programmes. These programmes are designed to help young people make positive contributions to their communities and society, while equipping them with the tools to shape their own future.

This is a dynamic and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You will engage directly with young people and teachers in schools, delivering and supporting YE’s programmes, while developing new relationships and strengthening existing partnerships.

There is a degree of manual handling and you will be required to work some evenings and weekends. Further:

About the Role

We are looking for a Corporate Partnerships Lead joins an energised and committed community team with significant ambitions for developing and sustaining relationships with new and existing supporters, through fundraising and corporate partnerships. Reporting to the Corporate Partnerships Manger and work closely with the Community and Philanthropy Teams. What’s more, with our new five-year strategy we are soon to launch major public fundraising campaigns for a new cancer hospital and a new children’s hospital, our fundraising is set to reach an incredible level.

About the Role 

This exciting new role provides an excellent opportunity to help shape and deliver our approach to fundraising, helping to ensure that St Nicks can continue our vital work in supporting planet, people and nature.  As the sole fundraiser and reporting directly to the chief executive officer, you will be given the autonomy to shape and develop and deliver on all aspects of our unrestricted fundraising, building key relationships with existing and new supporters and maximising support from community, corporate and individual supporters.

The Role

This role will lead our Corporate Partnerships team to build transformational partnerships that raise vital funds and create real change for people affected by stroke.

In this pivotal role, you’ll:

• Develop and execute an ambitious growth strategy for corporate partnerships

• Lead and inspire a high-performing team to secure new high-value partnerships

• Collaborate across the charity to create innovative, impact-driven propositions 

• Manage key internal and external stakeholders, aligning partnerships with the charity’s mission

As part of the High Value Engagement leadership team, you’ll play a crucial role in shaping future growth and making a lasting impact.

A big focus of this role will be on securing new partnerships so this role will suit someone with a strong business development background. 

About You

You will have experience of:

• Winning and managing six-figure+ partnerships across various income streams, including Strategic, CRM, and Charity of the Year.

• Developing innovative and winning partnership concepts. 

• Public speaking, with experience in pitching to secure new partnerships.

• Leadership, including line and ideally second-line management.

• Budget management, with strong numerical skills to set, monitor, and interrogate income as well as programme budgets.

The organisation is the only charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families. Providing tailored support to tens of thousands of stroke survivors each year. This support includes one-to-one and group support, funding vital scientific research into stroke prevention, acute treatment, recovery and long-term care, and campaigning to secure the best care for everyone affected by stroke.

• Whilst there will be core hours, supporting community fundraisers is not a 9-5 job, and evening and weekend working will be required. No two days are the same in this role. One day you could be setting up a gazebo and supporting a fundraiser at a village fete, the next day you could be doing a talk at a Rotary business lunch so you will need to be flexible in your approach.
• Supporting activity across North Hampshire is a key element of this role and travel throughout the region will be expected. Due to the geography of the area, and varying times of community activity some areas may not be accessible by public transport so use of your own car will be essential.

We are looking for an experienced and creative partnerships officer, to join our high performing and fast paced team at an incredibly exciting time. You will be managing and supporting a varied and interesting range of partnerships including existing and brand-new partnerships.

Key duties and responsibilities

As a skilled relationship officer, you'll collaborate with your manager to provide high quality partnership management, developing creative fundraising and engagement plans to excite and inspire your partners. You will work to deliver outstanding donor led stewardship and activate campaigns to generate income. You will work collaboratively with staff across Mind, together with other stakeholders and external contacts to maximise income and other opportunities for Mind.

Key Responsibilities

Working both independently and with support from your line manager:

-Steward, renew and grow a portfolio of corporate partners, effectively planning, developing, and delivering the partnerships to maximise income and wider benefits for Mind.

-Develop and implement a fundraising and engagement plan to maximise income and added value over the course of partnerships, deliver donor-focused stewardship so partners want to stay with Mind.

-Collaborate with internal teams to maximise potential and deliver mutually beneficial partnerships, e.g. communications, celebrities and PR, pro bono, and gift in kind, lived experience, finance, events, services, and wider engagement.

-Adapt and promote Mind's core campaigns and activities to partners to engage partners with our cause and deliver excellent stewardship, working with the Planning and Development team.

-Lead or assist with the creation of innovative fundraising initiatives, assets, and materials to engage and inspire our partners.

-Report back on how our partners' support has made a difference, demonstrating a clear understanding of the breadth and depth of Mind's work and the projects they're supporting.

-Track and monitor income and expenditure budgets to ensure income targets are met, flagging any variances to your line manager in good time. Work efficiently with Finance and Supporter Care to deliver accurate reporting.

-Collaborate with your manager to manage risk in new and existing partnerships and to ensure that Mind's corporate policy is adhered to.

-Represent the Partnerships team in appropriate working groups, workshops and/or meetings/other events as directed.

-To undertake other duties that may from time to time be necessary, that are compatible with the nature and grade of this post.

The post is permanent and is subject to a six-month probation period. The appointment of the successful candidate is subject to the receipt of two satisfactory references, proof of right to work in the UK and will also require a satisfactory Basic DBS check.

The working hours are 35 hours per week, generally Monday to Friday 09:00 to 17:00, and is offered on a hybrid basis, with a suggested minimum of two days per week in the office. Occasional out of hours work may be necessary during evenings or at weekends. Agreed overtime is not payable but time off in lieu will be granted.

The position will command a starting salary of £28,000 per annum, with a non-contributory pension scheme, whereby the employer contributes 8% of salary. The salary is paid in equal instalments over twelve calendar months per annum.

The charity offers a flexible working environment, with hybrid working 2 days per week from their office in Oxford. 

The Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager is responsible for leading and developing the Charity’s philanthropy and partnerships donor base, focusing on building and nurturing relationships with major donors, trusts and foundations, corporate partners as well as legacy and in-memory supporters (larger funders).
This plays a pivotal role in shaping the charity’s fundraising strategy, identifying major funding opportunities and creating impactful engagement strategies to secure long-term financial support for the charity’s sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

•  Develop and implement a comprehensive Philanthropy and Partnerships (P&P) fundraising strategy to drive fundraising activities and support long-term sustainability. This includes overseeing the cultivation and stewardship of major donors, trusts and foundations, corporate partners as well as legacy and in-memory supporters (larger funders). 
•  Report on income and expenditure targets, ensuring targets are met and assisting with budget setting. 
•  Cultivate, solicit and steward relationships with larger funders, ensuring strong and sustained engagement. 
•  Develop tailored proposals and partnership packages aligned with potential partners’ priorities and interests.
•  Manage, identify and build relationships with key corporate funders, negotiate and manage agreements, ensuring clear communication of expected deliverables.

Person Specification: 

•  Demonstrable experience in a senior fundraising role, with a proven track record in securing major funds from larger funders. 
•  Exceptional major donor management skills, with experience in donor stewardship, partnership development and engagement strategies that build long-term relationships. 
•  Extensive knowledge and understanding of targeting, segmentation and response analysis. 
•  Persuasive written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop compelling applications, proposals and donor communications. Capable of tailoring messaging for different audiences and ensuring clarity, consistency and emotional impact. 
•  Experience of managing a fundraising team and assisting with recruitment and team development. 
•  Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and manage relationships at all levels, both internally and externally.
