You will play a key role in identifying funding opportunities, developing new project ideas with colleagues, developing funding applications and building relationships with our funders and supporters.

Summary

This is an exciting time for the Philanthropy and Partnerships team as we develop a rich and evolving portfolio of strategic projects that will appeal to a wide range of funders. As the Trusts and Statutory Officer, you'll play a crucial role in driving fundraising for our new strategic focus on key priorities identified by people living with diabetes.

You'll be responsible for bringing in income of circa £200,000 for the Trusts and Statutory team from a high-volume portfolio, with a view to increasing its value year on year.

Main Responsibilities

You'll be responsible for building and maintaining the small trusts portfolio to maximise income generation (circa 200k), submitting bids under £20k and stewarding funders. You'll work closely with the Partnership Manager and the Prospect Research and Data Officer to identify funders and submit compelling proposals that accurately reflect both funder criteria and organisational funding priorities.

You'll work with colleagues across the charity to ensure grant conditions are met and deliver excellent stewardship practices.

Ideal Candidate

You'll be a highly organised individual, with experience of managing and delivering a high-volume trust portfolio.

You'll have excellent communication skills and will be able to prioritise workload and manage time effectively. Your naturally collaborative approach to team working is balanced by accountability and a proactive, independent attitude.

The Maypole Project is in an exciting phase of development.

LEGAL OFFICER – EMPLOYMENT LAW

Salary £39,298 per annum

We are looking for a qualified woman[2] solicitor or barrister or CILEX member with experience of employment harassment and discrimination law to deliver our vital legal services for women as part of our employment law team.

The Legal Officer (Employment Law) is responsible for delivery of Rights of Women’s core services including providing legal advice on our ‘Sexual Harassment at Work’ telephone advice line, delivering training and writing publications. The Philanthropy team is key to securing unrestricted income and supporting the organisation to achieve financial resilience. In this role, you will be line managed by the Philanthropy Manager (Sebastien de Menthon) as part of the eleven-person Global Philanthropy Team that sits alongside Events, Grants, and the Business Development Unit in the wider Development Department.

Sebastien studied Law and Anthropology before working in fundraising and communications roles in environmental NGOs and humanitarian social enterprises. 

Main Duties

• Actively solicit, maintain and manage a personal portfolio of donor relationships to secure unrestricted and restricted income targets
• Working with philanthropy team, you will effectively steward and cultivate UK networks outside of London;

Role requirements

• Drive prospect research, working with internal and external stakeholders to identify key networks and individuals capable of supporting ClientEarth financially and/or by introducing their connections

• Prepare funding briefs and research notes

• Liaise with the finance team, philanthropy assistant and the operations officer to track unrestricted income and maintain accurate financial records

Job Purpose

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Pride Cymru team as part of a Community Lottery funded project. The overarching aim of the Stronger Together project is to increase LGBTQ+ community cohesion and resilience across Wales. The role would have the following aims

• To support the development of a Pride organisers network across Wales enabling skill and information sharing and joint working.

• To increase sectoral resilience through collaboration, information, co-production

and relationship building.

• To advance understanding of intersectionality and the needs of underserved LGBTQ+ communities, leading to improved and more resilient services.

This role is for someone who is committed to promoting equality and inclusion. They will be self-motivated and enthusiastic and a confident communicator.

Responsibilities 

• The development and servicing of a forum for Pride organisers in Wales, working alongside external forum partners.

• To ensure communication between network partners including occasional written bulletins and social media.

• To identify opportunities for training, funding and resource development.

• To deliver the project on time and to budget, keeping track of expenditure and reporting any potential variances.

As the Digital Data Officer reporting into the Digital Data Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing and leveraging data within the Income Generation team. This position involves overseeing the collection, storage and analysis of data to support strategic decisions and improve operational efficiency. The officer ensures data integrity and compliance with relevant regulations, while also identifying opportunities for digital innovation.

Collaborating with various teams, the Digital Data Officer supports, develops and implements data-driven solutions that enhance the charity's impact. Supporting all areas of fundraising but with a specific focus on individual giving and lottery you will produce meaningful information, analysis reports and training that contributes to the effectiveness of St Giles Hospice Fundraising activities.

You will also play an important part in ensuring data input, usage and training on the income generation database is up to date and lead on data extraction. You will ensure all data work is done in line with relevant processes procedures and legislation. A good understanding of data protection and its relation to fundraising and marketing will be key.

Main Responsibilities

Together, the Research Funding Officers will administer and manage the entire grants management life cycle, both pre- and post-award. The charity has a number of grant funding schemes, including career awards, larger project grants and strategic research, and you will be central in the delivery of these. You will be the primary point of contact for applicants and other stakeholders throughout the grant management process, ensuring that they are supported and any support is managed in a professional and timely manner, including communicating feedback to applicants on funding proposals. As part of the grant management process, you will become proficient in using the grant management system which will involve building application forms, setting up funding rounds and review panels and troubleshooting when required. You will be responsible for the involvement of people affected by diabetes in the various funding schemes. You will also be involved in the organisation and delivery of our annual networking events for our PhD funded students and fellows.

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for an individual who is interested in developing or expanding their career in research grants management within a growing grant-making charity. You will have a BSc in biomedical sciences or life sciences. You will also have:
* A strong interest in scientific and clinical research. An understanding of research funding processes is desirable.
* Excellent organisational and time management skills, and the ability to deliver rigorous processes, work proactively, independently and in a team are essential.
* You will be an excellent communicator, able to build confident working relationships at all levels - an ability to network and liaise with scientific, clinical, research and expert by experience communities will be key to this role.
