We are seeking an operational and people focussed Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join our Executive Team. You will drive development of all financial and operational management, processes and reporting, overseeing the organisation’s day-to-day operations including the leadership of Finance, People, Governance, Fundraising, Marketing and Communications and Digital. 

The successful candidate will have held broad finance and operations positions, with a track record of interacting at Board level and presenting clear financial and management information. Whilst you don’t have to be financially qualified, we do need someone with strong financial acumen and demonstrable ability to monitor, interpret and communicate financial information effectively. You will have experience in implementing new and/or successful improvements to existing systems and processes, with a track record of driving organisational change. The post holder will have a good understanding of regulation and best practice alongside the ability to develop efficient processes and controls in line with our governance framework. Ensuring that people are at the centre of the Florence Nightingale Foundation (FNF) you will play a key role within the Executive team supporting the charity to achieve sustainable growth and delivery of efficient and effective services ensuring plans are developed and implemented, and targets are met.

Experience, Knowledge, and Skills 

• Proven experience as a senior leader in ideally a non-profit or public sector organisation

• Strong and extensive operations management experience, financial leadership and programme delivery 

• Experience of working on projects to integrate systems and improve processes / ways of working would be highly desirable 

• Demonstrated success in strategic planning, organisational development and stakeholder engagement 

• Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate staff 

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of representing the charity effectively to external audience 

• Experience of working with a Charity Board of Trustees 

• Proven ability to develop a long term financial strategy and plans 

• Experience of developing and implementing processes and policies as well as setting standards and targets aligned to organisation objectives

Experience with case management systems is advantageous, though a demonstrated ability to learn new technology quickly is also valuable.

About the position

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and experienced HR generalist to join a leading international anti-slavery organisation. You will be leading in a London-based HR and Operations team of four staff with high levels of autonomy and the ability to make a visible difference. You will be responsible for designing and delivering an effective HR strategy for the global organisation, as well as overseeing the London-based operations team. The role will report to the Managing Director, Finance and Administration and sit on the Wider Management Team (WMT) of the organisation.

Responsibilities

Lead the Global HR Function

· Lead on HR strategy and delivery across the global organisation – currently comprising approximately 85 staff in 10 countries

· Provide high quality and timely employee relations and change management advice and support to the Senior Leadership Team

· Manage renumeration and benefits globally, ensuring the Freedom Fund’s continuing ability to attract and retain a high performing team

· Oversee relationships with several Employers of Record and external payroll providers globally

· Develop and maintain HR policies, procedures and guidelines and staff handbooks globally

· Oversee all recruitment ensuring fair, safe and compliant recruitment practices and supporting workforce planning globally

· Lead on HR aspects of the Freedom Fund’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion vision and action plan

· Oversee new starter onboarding and off-boarding processes – including inductions on core organisational policies

· Manage the organisation’s UK visa sponsorship license and visa applications process

· Manage property and maintenance budgets for the UK office and IT budgets for the global organisation

Other

· Work with other members of the broader Finance and Administration team (Head of Finance, Safeguarding Manager and Senior Legal Counsel)

JOB PURPOSE 

About the role 

Start Network is seeking an experienced individual or consultant on a 12 month fixed-term contract to manage the first phase of our digital transformation journey. We are looking to build an innovative digital function and are offering a dedicated position to focus on key technology priorities identified. This 12-month position will lay the foundations required to ensure that Start Network is prepared for continued, sustainable technology growth.

This is a cross-cutting senior role that will oversee the delivery of the organisational digital transformation project, leading the implementation and adoption of Start Network’s  3-year digital transformation strategy and business plan. The role will lead on developing effective governance and decision making to enable Start Network to improve our use of automation, digital platforms and emerging technologies. The role is not technology specific; it will cut across a range of areas such as the development of tools automating humanitarian response processes, integration into cloud platforms, rationalising existing systems, adoption of data analytics, and visualisation, as well as looking to new technologies such as AI and Blockchain. 

The Senior Digital Transformation Lead needs to be continuously scanning an evolving landscape: implementing a framework for opportunity identification to prioritise areas for transformation; managing staff for continuous scanning of latest technology developments and assessing relevance to the organisation’s needs. 

The post-holder will have responsibility for winning sponsorship for projects, by working together with the Business Development directorate on development of proposals for projects with associated prioritisation for funding, undertaking detailed business case and ROI analysis, and agreeing critical success factors and parameters for funding. They will embrace change, adopting a practical problem-solving approach that can find a pathway from the current to target state.

To be successful in this role you will be both a technical expert and a capable project manager. You will be comfortable with leading process improvement, and adept at balancing stakeholder requirements with resource management.

Responsibilities and duties

Provide effective and efficient HR administration throughout the employee lifecycle for both Purposeful Ventures and its incubated ventures and funds, including: 

• being the first point of contact for the HR mailbox;
• managing employee onboarding and offboarding processes;
• coordinating all HR admin processes; 
• upkeep of the HR Information System, CharlieHR; and
• administration of all recruitment procedures from job application to appointment, using Team Tailor. 

Contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of the Purposeful Ventures Team, by providing team coordination and administrative support, including: 

• being the first point of contact for general enquiries; 
• managing the team calendar; 
• supporting the external IT services contractor;
• providing research and administrative support to the COO;
• ensuring the efficient management of CRM information, team and project documents and templates; and
• minuting incubated ventures’ project board meetings as needed.

Ensure that the Purposeful Ventures team has a pleasant and productive working environment by:

• supporting the operations team to make the Purposeful Ventures office a pleasant, productive, inspiring environment for staff and contractors to work and collaborate;
• keeping the Purposeful Ventures office well stocked with agreed supplies;
• managing the day-to-day coordination of the office and office visitors; and
• monitoring office IT equipment, ensuring items are working well and repaired swiftly and that staff have access to the facilities they need.

Contribute to the smooth running of our finance processes, providing support to finance staff including mailbox monitoring and expenses submissions.

You will play a key role in the successful establishment, monitoring and management of the Apprenticeship style training programme for trainees in Children and Young People work in churches in the Diocese of Southwark.

The postholder will enable the training placements to be properly administered and monitored, as well as, providing additional support for the apprentices and their parish line managers by having regular meetings and telephone calls. This post will require liaising with parish Children’s and Youth workers, coordinating training courses and general administration.

About the role

We are excited to be advertising this newly created role as part of WGN’s growth. This role will be the lead on the finance function. Reporting into the Director of Finance and Resources, the role works closely with stakeholders across the organisation including executive leadership, with a specific focus on working closely with the Director and external auditors. The role will have two direct reports – Finance Business Partner and Senior Finance Officer. This is a hands-on role and will have full responsibility for the finance function on a day to day and medium-term basis. The Financial Controller is to lead on all financial systems set up and upgrades.

Role Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the management and development of the Finance Business Partner and Senior Finance Officer.
• Preparing the year-end statutory accounts and liaising with external auditors.

Fundraising is still a relatively new activity for DFN Project SEARCH and this role presents the opportunity to play a key part in its expansion to support the further growth of the charity and enable young adults with a learning disability to lead healthier, happier, and more independent lives.   

This role will support the Director of Development in implementing DFN Project SEARCH’s fundraising strategy. To date the strategy has focused on securing a small number of larger gifts from philanthropic sources, such as trusts and foundations. We are now evolving the strategy to include growing income from high-net-worth individuals, companies, and individual giving.

This role will lead on the development and implementation of the strategy to secure income from high-net-worth individuals (between five and potentially seven figures) and will also work with the Director of Development and the Development Officer on securing income from, and stewarding, trusts, foundations, and statutory funders. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team there is also the opportunity to input to the wider strategy and development of the charity and support the Director of Development in their role as a member of the Executive Leadership Team.

The team is currently made up of the Director of Development, Corporate Partnership Manager (reporting to the Director of Development), and the Development Officer (reporting to this new role).

ABOUT THE JOB

Job Purpose 

We are looking for an exemplary people-oriented administrator to provide administrative support to the Gestalt Centre CEO and the workstreams she manages. An important role in the organisation, working with senior leadership and across teams, in a welcoming and supportive environment with opportunities to learn and grow on the job.

Areas of work and responsibility

• Personal Administration Support to the Gestalt Centre CEO
• Coordinate and support projects and workstreams the CEO leads on: Operations, Communications and Marketing, Short Courses and Post Graduate Qualifications, HR, Finance, Policies, Fundraising and Health & Safety.
• Liaise with the CEO and the leadership team to update the organisational plan and workstream plans, also keep track of relevant priority actions and progress.
• Provide administrative support for governance processes such as the audit and reporting to the Trustees Board, the Charity Commission and Companies House.
• Provide administrative support to the CEO and Trustees with organising and running fundraising activities and events.
• Liaise with the CEO to support the coordination of the annual setting of dates for the Short Courses and Post Graduate Qualifications programmes. 
• Organise, provide administrative support, and attend as appropriate, weekly operational meetings, monthly Executive meetings, and other project meetings, led by the CEO. Prepare meetings set up, information and any required papers in advance. Organise dates, taking and sending out minutes and coordinate follow-up actions ensuring progress and completion.
• Liaise with the CEO to prepare, format, edit and update reports and policies for internal and external audiences to a high standard.
• Provide a professional first point of contact for the CEO and as required liaise with her and the leadership team in order to respond to emails or phone calls and organise follow up meetings.
• Provide coordination and administrative support for specific projects led by Leadership Team members - as and when required.
• Office team support such as reception/admin cover or support with events, as and when occasionally required.
• Carry out responsibilities with due regard to the Gestalt Centre values, policies and procedures.

• Educated to degree level or equivalent with good English and Maths.
• Experience working with and assisting senior leadership professionals.

About the role

We seek a Programme and Project Officer, a new role that will work across our diverse portfolio, including our innovative Net Zero programme, South Bank Business Improvement District (BID), and projects for Jubilee Gardens Trust.

This role involves coordinating and delivering projects aligned with our relevant strategies and objectives, working on specific programmes, and supporting key initiatives. You will collaborate closely with partners involved in our Net Zero Steering Group and also Jubilee Gardens Trust. You will be involved in numerous partnership focused meetings, preparing project reports, and ensuring communication and follow-up with internal and external colleagues.

Stakeholder engagement is key, requiring liaison with various organisations - including SBEG members - managing task groups, and establishing partnership contracts. You’ll also identify resources, scope funding opportunities, manage finances and procurement, and be involved in marketing and communication efforts to keep stakeholders informed.

Who we are looking for

We seek someone with experience in overseeing and managing projects and being involved in relevant programmes relating to the management of urban areas, and / or net zero, sustainability and the climate challenge. Candidates will have experience of contract management, including negotiation and tender processes, and at least three years in multi-agency or partnership settings. A proven track record in project management and experience with local authorities, the private sector, and community organisations is essential.

You should have strong written and verbal communication skills, especially for external audiences, and advocacy abilities suited to complex stakeholder environments. You need to be action-oriented, capable of managing a varied workload, and skilled in attention to detail. Experience in working with and engaging with diverse organisations and presenting business cases is crucial.

About this role

We are pleased to advertise for a Head of Death Penalty Projects- US to oversee our work against the death penalty in the United States of America. 

Reprieve has worked against the death penalty since our founding. In recent years we have built a particular specialism in issues relating to lethal injection, the most popular execution method in the US. Lethal injection has been touted as more humane than other methods – a modern, clean, clinical way to execute. This couldn’t be further from the truth. Lethal injection executions go wrong more often than any other execution method, often resulting in prolonged and torturous executions, commonly known as “botched” executions. Through our work we aim to dispel the myth of the humane execution, working with allies across medicine, business and other sectors to end the misuse of medicines and medical technology in executions.

The existing portfolio of work includes litigation, investigation and analysis, corporate engagement, a wide range of public and private advocacy, and developing and maintaining world-leading expertise on execution methods, particularly the jurisprudence and science relevant to lethal injection.

Contract, location and salary

The role is a full-time, permanent position with a salary of £59,226 per annum less any required deductions for tax and national insurance.Reprieve operates a hybrid working model and we require staff to work a minimum of 40% from the London office and the rest of the week from home. There is the opportunity for international travel in the role.
