Founded just over two years ago, we are seeking a finance and team coordinator to become an integral part of our expanding team. As the Finance and Team assistant, you will have experience in an administrative and finance role and have the ability to deal effectively with suppliers, internal teams and freelance contractors.

Responsibilities: Finance

• Expense and invoice Management: Accurately file and record expenses and invoices using QuickBooks or Xero
• Payments: weekly payment run and payroll
• Cash flow reporting: Assist in preparing and maintaining monthly cash flow reports and tracking spend across projects as directed by the CFO
• VAT returns: Handle quarterly VAT returns to ensure compliance with UK financial regulations
• Tax: Provide assistance with tax preparation and compliance
• Annual returns: Support in the preparation of the annual return in collaboration with our CFO
• Data management: Maintain and update financial records in Google Sheets
• Expenses: Management of expenses platform and related enquiries
• Discretion and confidentiality: Handle sensitive financial information with the highest level of discretion

Responsibilities: Team Support

• Support the maintenance of office infrastructure
• Prepare contracts for consultants and vendors and be the first point of contact for any related enquiries.
• Support on discrete research tasks regarding team management and development
• Liaise with vendors, funders and consultants as needed
• Manage organisational subscriptions and file management
• Support the leadership team as needed in the running of the organisation (for example, management of office spaces, coordination of meetings etc)
• Management of organisational registration and ensuring we are meeting all requirements of Company House

Experience

• We are looking for someone with at least two years of experience in a previous role
• Previous experience of financial accounting especially around bank reconciliations, month-end, payment run etc
• Excellent time management skills and display a high degree of computer proficiency (including Google Suite and experience of working with databases)
• Previous experience in the not-for-profit sector is preferred but not essential – although we ask for a strong commitment to social impact but this can be through volunteering, activism etc

Compensation and Benefits

• This role is two days a week. We are open to this being two full full days or the allocation being stretched across the week.
• The contract is being offered on a one year fixed-term contract at 37,000 GBP pro-rata with a strong possibility of extension

This role will see you support an established, enjoyable, professional development programme for city farms, community gardens and care farms. In London you'll focus on training and showcase events, and nationwide you'll lead on helping organisations achieve the Green Care Quality Mark. The role will suit someone creative, methodical and comfortable with people. The role involves getting out and about, but most of the work is office work. This role does not include any practical gardening or farming activities.

Hours: Full time days (37.5 hours) per week. Or four days a week (30 hours) if preferred.

Pension: 5% of salary for standard contracted hours after successful completion of a 3-month probation period.

a) London Development - 3 days a week -
To support the delivery and co-ordination of a programme of targeted training and capacity-building for city farms and community gardens in London to improve their long-term viability, thereby contributing to the sustainability of vibrant local communities throughout the capital. This is a well-established, popular enjoyable programme and you would work closely with the London Development Manager, and SF&Gs members. Annual outputs include:  

· Training days designed and delivered by SF&G members

· Networking tours of community growing spaces

· Showcase events including the London Harvest Festival

b) Green Care Quality Mark (GCQM) Administration - 1.5 days a week
To support the UK-Wide GCQM programme liaising with our panel of Assessors, assigning applications for review and inputting data into our ‘Civi’ CRM.

The programme helps green care practitioners such as care farms demonstrate to clients, funders, commissioners, referrers and volunteers that they operate a safe, professional and caring place to be. 

The post holder will be responsible for administration and promotion of the GCQM, and supported by managers to retain participants of the scheme, attract new enrolments, and increase the associated earned income for SF&G.

c) SF&G Membership Support.
A half day a week will be dedicated to supporting SF&Gs UK- wide membership programme through social media, newsletters and database management.

This includes responsibility for the development and maintenance of the internal finance controls, policies, procedures and systems. Finally, you will also lead decision-making on investments, reserves and the management of financial strategy and risks, taking into account our approach to sustainability. Previous experience in eCommerce and distribution will be a significant advantage given the innovative In Kind Direct model.

Skills and experience you will bring

• Experience working at FD level with in-depth knowledge of financial and operational management, ideally including relevant experience within the charity sector.
• Strategic thinker experienced in collaborative strategy development.
• Innovative, curious and rigorous - able to find strategic solutions and work at pace to support commercial and operational decisions [CW5] with modelling that drive greater impact.
• Fully qualified finance professional (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)

You will also proactively work with other agencies on the service users’ behalf. You will hold a caseload of survivors and work as part of our duty team on a rota basis which will involve completing intake assessments and providing crisis intervention support.

About You:

To be successful as the Finance and Debt Specialist Advisor you will need the below experience and skills:

You will have the ability to encourage user engagement with the service through proactive contact. Maintain project logs and collate data from the logs for Team Managers. Proactively assess the needs and safety of any children that women using the service may have. Bring your experience of providing finance, and debt advice and successfully, managing high numbers of calls and/or cases and have a solid understanding (possibly experience) of supporting women who have experienced domestic violence, forced marriage or ‘honour-based violence

We're seeking an experienced and proactive Void Officer to join our team in Kings Cross. Working across almost all London Boroughs, we strive to provide a warm, safe home, from which our residents can begin their recovery, and our Void Officer play a vital role in preparing our properties for letting. As a Void Officer, you will proactively manage our maintenance voids and be responsible for processing pre void inspections and co-ordinating repair works, to get our properties ready to let in line with agreed timescales and to meet our KPIs. You will co-ordinate works with registered providers, approved contractors and our inhouse maintenance team.

In your role, you will keep void records up to date and assist with preparing void reports. You will work to build relationships with internal and external partners; and ensure we achieve value for money.

Additionally, you will work with our Caretakers and Service Teams to identify where we can improve our processes to deliver an efficient void service.

• You bring experience of negotiating, and communicating clear, concise, and effective works specifications, and effectively liaising with internal and external partners.
