The Sutton Trust are currently recruiting for two Interns within the programmes team. One will focus on supporting our Employability programmes including our Pathways to the professions programmes and our Alumni Careers Plus programmes which includes two new strands of the programme in Tech and Consulting launching in 2025. The other will work across the programmes team on our University Access programmes (eg Sutton Trust Summer Schools and Sutton Trust Online ) and Alumni programmes and activities
The Programmes Interns will play an integral part in the team to help deliver on these initiatives and the long-term aims of the organisation. The roles are varied and will support student communication and delivery across our school age (16-18) programmes and university (post 18) activities for alumni. This is an extremely exciting time to be at the Trust and the roles will require individuals to be creative, flexible and to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
Main duties
- Manage student logistics including booking travel, reimbursements and accommodation across a range of programmes.
- Responding to multiple student-facing email inboxes to ensure timely and effective communication with beneficiaries.
- Being the first point of contact on the Sutton Trust main phone line, answering questions from a range of stakeholders
- Being a main point of contact for students around activity attendance, eg following up with students who haven’t attended
- Assisting with planning and delivery of a range of in person events eg, residential conferences for students on Pathways programmes, employability events for Sutton Trust alumni and online webinars
- Updating content on Sutton Trusts website, digital student platforms (Sutton Trust Online and Sutton Trust Alumni) and materials needed for programme delivery
- Updating appropriate databases, for example on student information or university details to ensure this is accurate
- Liaising with external stakeholders such as universities and employers to support logistical and administrative elements of programme delivery
- Supporting on the creation of reports for funders and programme partners based on student engagement and feedback data, including pulling together data and creating visuals for reports
- Other duties as necessary from time to time
Person Specification
We welcome applications from individuals who have experience in:
- Has enthusiasm for and experience of working with young people from diverse backgrounds
- Has an interest or understand of the education or not for profit sectors (knowledge of the UK higher education system is helpful, but not essential)
- Can prioritise their workload when working to multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Has a high degree of initiative and the ability to take responsibility for small projects with support
- Excellent verbal and written communication and strong analytical skills
- Personable, flexible and able to fit in to a small team
We are also looking for an individual who:
- Is sympathetic to the aims of the Trust and its mission to address educational disadvantage;
- Has excellent attention to detail;
- Has first-class interpersonal skills - a natural ambassador able to represent the Sutton Trust in a range of settings;

Terms of Appointment
- Contract: Full time, Fixed term until August 29th 2025
- Salary: London Living Wage (currently £13.85 an hour)
- Working location: Minimum of 2 office days per week
- Office location: The Sutton Trust, 9th Floor, Millbank Tower, 21-24 Millbank, London, SW1P 4QP. Our home working policy gives staff the option to work from home for up to 60% of the time, with approval from their line manager.
- Hours: The standard working hours are 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday and may also be required to attend events / meetings outside of their normal working hours during weekday evenings and occasionally at weekends
- DBS check may be required

The Alumni Relations and Regular Giving programme aims to build relationships that inspire alumni, colleagues and friends to support Goldsmiths through donations or volunteering. Through our multi-channel regular giving campaigns, we seek donations via single gifts, monthly direct debits and legacy gifts.
About the Role
This role will work closely with the Head of Alumni Relations and Regular Giving to implement the individual giving and legacy fundraising programme that will increase funds raised to support education at Goldsmiths.
The postholder will responsible for the project management of and writing copy for individual giving and legacy fundraising campaigns, and donor stewardship communications, via email, web, social media, and/or direct mail.
About the Candidate
You will be able to demonstrate an entrepreneurial approach to identifying new opportunities and developing ideas. You will also be able to demonstrate the ability to project manage fundraising campaigns and build personal relationships with alumni donors. You will be skilled in writing engaging fundraising copy for email, web and print. Ideally you will have experience of individual giving and/or legacy fundraising from the Higher Education or Not for Profit sector. However transferrable skills from exceptional candidates looking to move into the Higher Education sector are also welcomed.

DFN Project SEARCH is delivering transformative change, supporting, and helping young people with learning disabilities and autism into the world of work. Nationally only 4.8% of people with special educational needs and disabilities gain permanent paid employment in the UK yet 70 percent of DFN Project SEARCH graduates gain jobs, 60 percent of them achieving full-time permanent roles.
You will be required to improve the quality and outcomes of existing DFN Project SEARCH programmes across a geographical area. World Obesity Federation (WOF) is a worldwide federation with over 100 members and takes a holistic view of obesity from cause and prevention to treatment. WOF is a lead partner to global agencies on obesity, including WHO, and a member of the Global Obesity Coalition.
The candidate will lead on the MAPPS II study with oversight from the Head of Data & Evidence. MAPPS is a global research study that identifies and addresses the barriers and gaps in obesity care in health systems across countries. The in-depth knowledge and insight gained can be applied to inform policy reform and achieve global milestones – with the ultimate goal of improving access to obesity care for all.
MAPPS II is an enhancement, extension and update of our first MAPPS study (which was undertaken in 2018 -2019), that will span 3 years (2024 – 2027) and feed into global campaigns and upcoming global milestones. Key components of the project include research, convening, dissemination and coalition building.
Desired skills –
- An advanced university degree (Master's level or above) in a health-related field from an accredited/recognised institute.
- Experience in conducting primary and secondary data collection from different sources alongside the ability to analyse both quantitative and qualitative data.
- The candidate should be a strong team player who can work responsively, proactively and flexibly with a high level of attention to detail.

This role supports three programme managers and the director to work with the students, by helping to administrate the programme – including supporting programme selection, residential coordination, US admissions advice, through to pre-departure programming before students enrol at a US institution. The programme is administered by the Fulbright Commission, and the assistant sits in the Advising team within the Commission.
You will offer a passion for higher education and a willingness to learn. You’ll have a great eye for detail, be organised and be efficient. You’ll be able to spot problems before they arise and excel at ensuring processes are followed – all while being sympathetic to our students. Essential for the role will be experience of working with young people either in a professional or volunteering capacity. We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Direct Marketing and Fundraising Officer to join our Public Fundraising team. This role is integral to the smooth operation of our fundraising activities, particularly during appeals, where your coordination skills will be crucial.
Key Responsibilities:
Appeal Coordination:
- Assist the Direct Marketing Manager - Acquisition in keeping member agency fundraising directors and key suppliers up to date in the run-up to and during appeals.
- Update the fundraising and marketing team budget tracker, ensuring accurate financial tracking throughout the appeal process.
- Support the setup and management of Appeal Toolkits and Appeal Hubs, providing essential assets to staff, member agencies, and suppliers.
- Assist with the coordination and delivery of creative projects across all direct marketing channels, ensuring timely and effective execution.
- Work with the team to gather and report appeal results, providing updates to the Director of Fundraising and Marketing, Executive Team, and CEO’s office.
Ongoing Responsibilities:
- Organize and manage review meetings with suppliers’ post-appeal, contributing to continuous improvement efforts.
- Monitor and update core and appeal budgets, processing invoices and ensuring financial accuracy.
- Support the Director of Fundraising and Marketing in organizing and managing the Fundraising Director’s Group meetings, including diary coordination, preparing presentations, and taking minutes.

Clinical Supervision

Key Required Experience:
