We are looking for an exceptional Grants Commissioning Manager (Scotland), with a focus on Faslane. This is a senior management role working as part of the Grants team within the RNRMC at a time when the Charity’s strategy has a real focus on beneficiary need and impact, managing RNRMC commissioned grants in Scotland, ensuring that the funds are awarded in accordance with the Charities Values and Outcomes Framework.
The role will work strategically with The Director of Relationships and Funding to support and deliver the charities funding plans for Scotland and support the Head of Commissioned Grants with all elements of the commissioning cycle including understanding need, designing projects, performance management of delivery and reporting of impact. Working with internal and external stakeholders, the role will involve the oversight and good governance of grants programmes to ensure quality, evidenced outputs, and value for money of projects.
In addition, you will lead and manage the Grants Administrator (Scotland, taking responsibility for actively and proactively supporting them to achieve in their post.

About the Role
As Data & Digital Operations Manager at Smart Works, you will play a pivotal role in managing the charity’s digital infrastructure and working as part of a team to ensure that the organisation is able to measure its impact, and that digital operations run smoothly and efficiently. You will oversee IT systems, digital platforms, and cybersecurity measures, identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation, and playing a crucial role in Smart Works’ next steps in digitising our service.
The role requires someone who is confident using data and digital platforms, who can apply them with a hands-on approach. The ideal candidate will balance day-to-day digital infrastructure administration with the management of relationships with external IT providers, and digital tools such as databases and online referral forms. You will also take ownership of Smart Works' internal staff platform, implementing upgrades and training staff where necessary.
You will take a leading role in managing the digital infrastructure associated with the client service, including overseeing contracts with external providers, and making amendments to Dynamics CRM. You will be responsible for actioning local centre queries and change requests to maintain consistent, high-quality digital operations.
In addition, you will work closely with the Head of Data & Impact on ad hoc data and analysis requests across functions, helping to inform strategic decision-making across all Smart Works centres, as well as to ensure the organisation remains fully compliant with GDPR regulations, with a strong emphasis on safeguarding sensitive information and maintaining robust data protection practices.

Parish Finance Administrator - Job Description
Main Duties
Financial Management
- Liaise with and provide financial information to the Diocesan Finance team as required.
- Prepare and manage the parish budget for approval by the Parish Priest and Finance Committee.
- Prepare quarterly accounts and reports for Finance Committee meetings and attend these meetings.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including income, expenditure, and bank reconciliation using the approved Diocesan Finance System (currently XERO).
- Oversee the collection, counting, and banking of offertory and other parish income, ensuring proper procedures are followed.
- Raise and process invoices, payments, and reimbursements in a timely and accurate manner.
- Prepare monthly and annual financial reports for the Parish Priest and Finance Committee, ensuring transparency and compliance with diocesan requirements.
- Support the Parish Priest in fundraising and stewardship initiatives, including second collections, campaigns, and appeals.
- Promote and ensure the routine availability of digital giving platforms for donors, including online and planned giving routes.
- Ensure compliance with diocesan policies for clergy payments and oversee the monthly processing of income and expenses.
- Supervise Parish counting and collection teams, assisting with bank deposits where necessary.
- Ensure compliance with Gift Aid regulations, supporting the Parish Gift Aid Coordinator in fulfilling this role.
Governance and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all diocesan policies.
- Maintain an asset register and full inventory, ensuring appropriate insurance coverage for parish properties and equipment.

What will you be doing?
- Lead and advising on all matters relating to governance including the constitution, memorandum and articles of association, standing orders and codes of conduct, including leading the implementation of any changes agreed by the Board.
- Provide best practice governance advice and support to the Chair, Board, CEO and Executive team, ensuring regulatory/codes of practice compliance, ongoing review of consultations on charity governance and promoting good governance in practice.
- Provide governance support to the Board, Audit and Risk Committee, Finance Committee, People, Remuneration, Impact and Engagement Committee, and the National Officers and Committee Chairs meeting and any other meetings linked to governance.
- Monitor changes in relevant governance legislation and the regulatory environment and take appropriate action.
- Project manage the organisation and delivery of the Annual General Meeting
- Plan and co-ordinate the annual Trustee induction programme.
- Responsible for the administration of the Company, for example: maintaining statutory company records and making the appropriate governance filings to Companies House and the Charity Commission.
- You’ll be the Company Secretary for YHA (England and Wales) and YHA Trading Limited.
- Assist the CEO and Executive with internal and external promotion, PR or other publications and events as required and particularly in relation to corporate governance and Board related issues.
- Develop relationships of trust and confidence, working pro-actively with the Chair, individual Board members, the CEO, Executive team, and external lawyers, where appropriate. You’ll be key in liaising between National Office teams and Board members.
What Skills and Experience do you need?
- Experience of providing governance support at Board level.
- Chartered Membership of the Chartered Governance Institute (or equivalent) or studying towards the qualification or suitable other experience. Experience of working independently, pro-actively and sensitively with senior stakeholders (Chair, CEO, Board members, Exec directors).
- Excellent project management skills and experience.
- Project team leadership skills and experience.
- Experience of budgetary control.
- Experience and in-depth knowledge of corporate and charity governance, including of company secretary functional requirements.
- Friendly, supportive, authoritative and approachable with the ability to adapt communication style to build positive relationships and provide proactive support for internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Able to take comprehensive and accurate minutes at speed.
- Able to adapt written communication style to deal with formal Board and governance communications, but equally at home with more informal communications when appropriate.
- Good level of IT skills particularly Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint and a working knowledge of portals for distributing and viewing board and committee papers.
- Very well organised, self-motivated and able to demonstrate initiative, to deal authoritatively with providing best practice advice, peaks and troughs in workload, and conflicting priorities including between departments and individuals.
- Able and willing to flex hours worked in order to cover Board and AGM meeting at weekends and frequent evenings and occasional early mornings (for committee meetings and distribution of Board and Committee papers) and travel to hostels throughout the network to support Board and other meetings, for which Time Off in Lieu will be provided.
- Flexible and adaptable, and willing to support the Chair, Board, CEO, Executive Team, and External Affairs Team.
- A good understanding of charity governance, operational and departmental organisation and requirements.
- A discreet and trusted confidante and source of advice for the Chair and CEO when needed, including tactful handling of sensitive/political issues.

You'll be responsible for the management of the administrative support functions, ensuring the provision of an effective and efficient service, implementing and maintaining systems and processes. Alton Castle and the Soli Centre are busy and vibrant Catholic Residential Youth Retreat Centre’s for The Kenelm Youth Trust, serving young people aged 9-24.
The Centre Manager Role will report directly to the CEO, be linked to the Retreat Director’s work and have an annual salary of circa £36,000- £38,500 per annum dependent on qualifications and experience, 24 days annual leave plus 8 days bank holiday, occasional discretionary days and a desirable pension scheme.
The role is contracted to 37.5 hours per week. Due to the nature of the business the role will involve evening and weekend work. The successful candidate will also be required to work some overnight and weekend “on call” work with other Senior Management.
The Centre Manager responsibilities include:
- Key role to support the Retreat Programme Director by ensuring the bookings information, catering and general preparation of the Centre are all fit for purpose for programme delivery and other guests
- Supervision of line managers; to develop and implement HSE policies, plans and practices, in line with the Trusts procedures and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Management of the Operations staff which includes the Administration Office and staff, oversee submission of details for payroll to the payroll provider, record time and attendance of all staff, oversee site management and regulations for a listed historic building, HR and recruitment of staff.
- The individual will be required to come on site at any time during the day or night, seven days a week when they are on call. The ability to be flexible with working hours / pattern is essential.
Essential knowledge, skills and experience
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Having a strong understanding of the legislation and compliance needs around HSE issues and ideally hold a relevant HSE qualification e.g. NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.
- Be a strong communicator with excellent verbal, written and influencing skills at all levels in the organisation and our customers.
- Managing incident and crisis management, leading accident / incident investigation, implementing and overseeing an HSE auditing programme which will ensure we operate to exceptional HSE standards.

The role
With responsibility for a small team of three, as Finance Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the finance function, ensuring the accurate and efficient management of financial transactions, reporting, and compliance.
