Key Responsibilities
As a Media Officer, you’ll be a key member of our Media team:
- You will respond to journalist enquiries and ensure Samaritans has a voice in the issues that matter to us.
- You’ll help plan and deliver our proactive media campaigns, which will help us reach new communities and existing audiences to raise awareness of the emotional support we provide.
- You’ll also work on campaigns and key moments that highlight our important policy and influencing work.
- Working with lived experience is a cornerstone of our media work, and you’ll regularly be in touch with storytellers, including callers, volunteers, fundraisers and high-profile supporters.
About You
- Experience in pitching to different types of media and reporting on coverage.
- Experience in drafting media materials e.g. briefing notes, press releases and reactive comments.
- Experience of working sensitively with case studies and placing their stories in the media
- Experience of working in: newspapers, a charity press office, a commercial PR agency or in-house media / public relations.
- A clear understanding of UK media, its interests and needs.
- An understanding of how different audiences engage with media/news content differently across digital platforms (or online/offline channels).
- Experience of dealing with high level editorial teams within the UK media.
- Good computer skills in word-processing, databases and spreadsheets.

- Deliver services based on the expressed wishes, cultural needs and support plans of those who use our services.

About the Role
This role is an exciting opportunity to work for Mind BLMK as part of the Fundraising & Engagement Team.
Acting as the first point of contact for all Fundraising & Comms enquiries and in line with Mind BLMK’s Fundraising and Communications Strategy, this is a busy role and will require excellent stewardship and donor care skills as well as meticulous organisation and innovative thinking. As an Ambassador for Mind BLMK, you will need to have a passion for mental health and an ability to operate at all levels.
The successful applicant will generate income and support all aspects of communication and marketing, to help to maximise local support, raise awareness of our work in the community, and by providing exceptional supporter stewardship, in line with Mind BLMK’s Fundraising and Communication strategy.
Key Duties

About the Role:
The Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning Officer holds a central role in ensuring the quality, impact, and accountability of WAG’s projects through the implementation of comprehensive Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) systems. This role is designed to support fostering projects MEAL systems, ensuring learning and quality improvement in projects implementation. This position supports the Programme Performance and Effectiveness Manager in capacity-building for program teams, ensuring that MEAL is leveraged for knowledge management and innovation. This position exists to support the creation of a culture of accountability and learning, where project delivery and effectiveness is continually improved through best MEAL practices, contributing directly to the overarching goals of the national program and WaterAid's mission.
In this role, you will Lead in planning and implementation of MEAL systems for projects, ensuring alignment with WaterAid's PMER Core Procedures, M&E System, M&E policy and guidelines as well as Hold regular project reflection meetings and data quality assessments and ensure effective use of monitoring data for adaptive management.
You’ll also:
- Enhance community involvement in MEAL processes, ensuring that projects meet donor and organizational MEL standards.
- Support the planning and implementation of CP Annual M&E Plan and Learning Agendas and Annual Review Meetings

Role Purpose:

Summary of the role
Our successful charity runs pathways which focus on employability and skills for everyday living to help young people, with SEN and learning disabilities to gain confidence and social support, alongside nationally recognised qualifications. Green Corridor requires the skills of an enthusiastic and reliable Teaching Assistant, who can work effectively with our learners who each have their own additional needs. Specific duties and responsibilities of the role
Supporting Young People
- To work with the tutor to establish an appropriate learning environment.
- To work with the tutor on lesson planning, evaluating and adjusting lesson/work plans as appropriate.
- To monitor and evaluate learners’ responses to learning activities through observations and planned recording of achievement against learning objectives.
- To use specialist skills to support learners’ learning such as PECS, Makaton, symbols and iPads.
- To assist with the development, implementation and evaluation of learning programmes and individual work plans.
- To prepare and assist in the preparation of the classroom, resources and equipment.
- To establish productive working relationships with learners acting as a role model and setting high expectations.
