We are looking for a Public Affairs and Campaigns Officer to join the Royal British Legion’s London-based team. This role will see you help to shape and carry out RBL’s public affairs and campaigning activities at a national level, and to devise and deliver our political engagement events and campaigning work in Westminster.

- Planning and organising political engagement events, including Parliamentary and Party Conference receptions, exhibitions, panel discussions, consultation events, Poppy Rides and more
- Devising and delivering a bespoke engagement programme for MPs and their staff
- External and internal team communications, including social media, team website and intranet content, responses to enquiries from the public.
- Monitoring and researching Parliamentary developments, consultations and legislation of interest to RBL and producing briefings for senior colleagues across the organisation on relevant issues
- Developing and maintaining good working relationships with key Parliamentarians and their staff, as well as partner organisations key to the successful delivery of RBL’s campaigns and engagement events programme

About the role
The Head of Fundraising will be responsible for executing Pro Bono Economics’ (PBE) fundraising strategy under the Director of Development’s guidance. This role focuses on increasing and diversifying income through building relationships with trusts, foundations, corporates, and high-net-worth individuals, while also securing funding for specific research projects in collaboration with the research team. The role includes managing donor engagement, overseeing grant applications, leading a small team, and ensuring compliance with fundraising regulations, all while maintaining operational oversight of the fundraising department.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Fundraising strategy implementation: Deliver PBE’s multi-year fundraising strategy to expand and diversify income from major donors, trusts and foundations, corporate partners and research institutions
- New business development: Identify and secure new funding opportunities, focusing on building sustainable partnerships.
- Research support: Collaborate with the research team to identify funding for specific research projects and submit tailored grant proposals.
- Donor engagement: Steward relationships with existing donors, ensuring renewals and funding upgrades.
- Bid writing & reports: Develop and write compelling grant applications, case for support documents and reports which communicate PBE’s services and research programmes.
- Departmental leadership: Support the Director of Development in managing budgets, resources, and a fundraising officer, ensuring team efficiency and future planning.
- Regulatory compliance: Ensure adherence to fundraising regulations and policies, including GDPR and safeguarding.
About you
Report directly to the Director of Development, the Head of Fundraising will have the following experience and skills.
Experience
- You have senior fundraising experience across a broad mix of income streams, a talent for building partnerships, bid writing and a strategic mindset.
- Experience working with research-driven organisations is a plus, as is familiarity with CRM systems like Salesforce.
- You are happy to roll up your sleeves and spend as much time focused on immediate management and income priorities as you are on strategy and ideation.
- Will be suited to a senior fundraiser looking for their first Heads of role or someone who has already taken that step.

This role is leading a team of coordinators and support workers to provide excellent support within a small 4 bed crisis centre in Hemel Hempstead, which is a short stay provision, usually 3 or 4 nights, to provide;
- emotional support
- support to develop coping strategies, support plans and safety plans
- ensuring robust discharge plans in place for on-going support
Key Accountabilities
- On occasion, provide emotional support, advice, signposting, assessing risk, support planning for clients in mental health crisis often where risks are significant.
- Overseeing and ensuring the delivery of appropriate needs and risk assessments and support planning for clients.
- Liaise with statutory agencies to ensure appropriate intervention is obtained.
- Organising a rota to ensure appropriate service cover is in place at all times across the Nightlight Crisis Centre provision.
- Contribute to an on-call service, on rotational basis, usually every 8 weeks, taking calls outside of 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday providing staff support.
- Representing Nightlight and wider HMN at external meetings, and network locally to develop contacts, services and raise Herts Mind Network’s profile.
- Manage budgets, expenses, payroll as well as facilities needed for the centre
- Supporting the Crisis manager with developing and ensuring ongoing positive relationship with external NHS, local authority and emergency services including Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Teams, Single Point of Access, Safeguarding Out of Hours Service, Mental Health Liaison Teams, Adult Community Mental Health Services etc.
- Provide management support to Crisis Centre Coordinators and support the Crisis Manager in ensuring practice within the service is safe, effective and person centred, as well as supporting the implementation of strategic service plans.

About the Role
We are now recruiting for an experienced Policy and Public Affairs Specialist to lead on planning and delivering Hibiscus’ work on racial and intersectional inequalities in the Criminal Justice and Immigration systems.
Development, research and report writing will be a key aspect of this role; the successful candidate will be responsible for drafting policy recommendations, reports, and consultation responses on issues related to Black and minoritised migrant women in contact with the Criminal Justice and Immigration systems. Supporting the Head of Policy and Public Affairs, they will engage and develop relationships with key political and parliamentary stakeholders, developing and delivering a variety of public affairs initiatives to inform decision-makers and influence policy in Criminal Justice, Immigration and Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) sectors. The post holder will prepare press releases and statements to address prison and immigration reforms, identifying the gaps of adequate support for women, and will analyse external and internal quantitative and qualitative data relevant to our work.
As part of the role, the Policy and Public Affairs Specialist will be responsible for raising awareness and creating content on the treatment of Black and minoritised migrant women within the Criminal Justice System. The post holder will identify opportunities for influence, monitor trends and developments, and prepare communications, reports and policy briefings to help ensure our work has an impact.
The post holder will also be responsible for leading Hibiscus’ partnership work on the Women’s Justice Reimagined project, advocating for the reimagination of the Criminal Justic System. They will build on Hibiscus’ policy work to raise our profile within advisory and working groups, creating alliances with other organisations in the sector and collaborating with other specialist and third-sector organisations to campaign for policy change and increase policy and decision-makers awareness of the issues Hibiscus works on.

About You

About the role

The Head Gardener is responsible for the maintenance and nurturing of the garden, which was planted by local residents, and in developing a programme for volunteers that supports with this maintenance. Key responsibilities include:
- Ongoing care and maintenance of the plants and garden to ensure the successful development of the garden in line with Sarah Price’s vision.
- Liaising with Sarah Price Landscapes about changes, upkeep, and development of the garden.
- Helping co-ordinate with Sarah Price and The Exchange any additional planting.
- Creation of opportunities for interaction with the public who visit the garden.
- Establish and manage The Exchange’s sustainable compost programme.
- Plant/equipment/materials ordering.
- Developing and caring for the pelargonium collection in the greenhouse

Volunteer management
Community involvement is an essential part of what we do at The Exchange. Currently this involves a growing Volunteer Programme, where people come and learn skills from talented craftspeople, becoming part of “Making Communities”, in exchange for giving time in creating things For Community Use and/or Benefit.
In relation to the garden, volunteers are supported through skills development and learning opportunities and give their time towards the garden’s ongoing maintenance and/or enabling wider public interaction. Participation in this programme also creates other benefits including social and wellbeing. We believe that time spent with volunteers/local community sharing skills and experience is an important investment and it will be your responsibility to ensure the volunteer team is supported and valued.Key responsibilities include:

About Us:
Write Back is a registered charity which builds self-esteem among marginalised young people by helping them to tell their own stories. We foster self-respect, community and independent voices for young people through immersive and inspiring storytelling programmes.
We have been operational since September 2019 and, in early 2020, registered with the Charity Commission and recruited a board of trustees. We have operated on a mostly voluntary basis and are now able to secure a more sustainable model for the charity.
We are now looking to take on at least one storytelling facilitator who can expand our capacity by supporting delivery of our programmes.
What We Do:
We run 10-week storytelling programmes open to students aged between 13 and 16 and identified by their teachers as lacking confidence, self-esteem or a creative outlet. These young people are referred to us by schools in Barking and Dagenham, and are then enrolled in our programmes at the Future Youth Zone, an award-winning local youth centre. In each session we run confidence-building activities, engage with the writing of a young author and then develop the stories of the participating young people. The 10-week project also involves working with writers and artists and culminates with the celebration of the young people’s work including in books, local museum exhibitions and much more.
Alongside our main projects, we run a graduate scheme that offers new creative opportunities for young people who have completed a 10-week programme. We also run bespoke, one-off storytelling sessions for young people in collaboration with other partners.
Our sessions primarily run in Future Youth Zone near Becontree but we also deliver other projects across Barking and Dagenham. Typically each group contains around 14-20 young storytellers.
What We’re Looking For:
We are looking for a passionate, engaged and collaborative facilitator with experience of youth work and storytelling who can help deliver our programmes. Depending on the availability of the candidate and the delivery needs, this would look like either leading on delivery of one of our pilot projects or assisting with the Director in the delivery of our core programmes.
We are looking for people initially interested in joining us on a freelance basis or part time one day a week from January to July 2025. We anticipate that, as we grow, there are likely to be expanded opportunities after this.
Objectives of Role:
● To co-deliver highly impactful storytelling programmes in Barking and Dagenham.
● To ensure the safety of young people and adults working for or with Write Back.
● To collaborate effectively with other members of our small staff and voluntary team.
● To show every young person we work with that they have a story to tell and the power to tell it.

● To participate in the planning, delivery and evaluation of our storytelling programmes.
● To assist young storytellers in telling and writing their stories and provide empowering and impactful feedback.

SoWN is a small and passionate voluntary team with extensive experience and knowledge of the area, its communities, and working with our partners.
About the role
You will be responsible for sourcing and assessing projects, coordinating implementation, and overseeing delivery. It is a critical role, with an equal emphasis on strategic oversight and delivery. Reporting to SoWN’s Chair, you will work closely with a Steering Group comprised of our partner organisations. You will ensure that the aspirations of the Waterloo and South Bank Neighbourhood Plan are co-ordinated and delivered. In doing so, you will continually demonstrate your understanding of the neighbourhood and all relevant and related strategies, policies, projects, and services.
Your key priorities will be to work with Neighbourhood Community Infrastructure Levy (NCIL) and Section 106 grant recipients to ensure high-quality delivery of agreed outcomes and to secure long-term funding to enhance local wellbeing and green spaces. You will also be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of the Steering Group’s strategy, demonstrating a thorough understanding of the neighbourhood and relevant policies and projects.
Who we are looking for
You will have at least five years of relevant experience, particularly in a partnership or multi-agency setting, demonstrating a successful track record in project management, including meeting objectives on time and within budget. You will possess strong knowledge of developing specifications and managing procurement processes, ensuring compliance with regulations. We also seek someone with experience of managing complex budgets with multiple income streams. Essentially, you will have the proven ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders, including local authorities, the private sector, and community and voluntary organisations.
You will have experience working with local government and community organisations, along with strong advocacy skills for influencing diverse stakeholders. You will need to be capable of managing workloads, meeting deadlines, and presenting effective business cases for change. The role requires building strong community links, translating strategy into practical outcomes, and working both independently and under pressure. A flexible, "can-do" team player who consistently delivers high standards is essential.

Reporting to the Director of Care and based at our Kentown Care Team office in Lancaster, you will work in partnership with health, education and social care professionals, specifically Together for Short Lives to lead the project and to raise awareness of the programme and of children’s palliative care.
You will take responsibility for delivering a high-quality family support service, managing the Kentown Family Support Team and will be a member of the Rainbow Trust Care Managers group, contributing to service development across the wider organisation and providing management and leadership to the team in relation to all safeguarding issues.

The Youth Participation and Support Worker will work with care experienced young people subject to immigration controls, to tackle the injustice and inequity of the systems, policies and procedures that define their lives.
They will support young migrants to evaluate what they have learned through their experience of being in care and going through the immigration system so that young people are able to recognise the skills and strengths they have developed.
