The Retired Ministers Housing Society (RMHS) exists to assist retired and retiring ministers to meet their housing needs during retirement, aiming to provide appropriate housing suitable for long-term occupation. We maintain around 300 properties tenanted by retired ministers, arranging inspections and repairs.

In this role you will be responsible for the daily coordination of repairs and maintenance activities. You will be the central point of contact for our elderly residents, liaising with surveyors to ensure our programme of works and cyclical compliance checks are followed through and carried out promptly.

You are educated to A level standard, or equivalent experience, have excellent administration and ITC skills and are highly organised. You also possess good communication skills and can problem solve, dealing with issues in a calm and sensitive manner. Experience of repairs and maintenance in a housing environment would be a distinct advantage.

We can offer you a flexible and friendly work environment in a small team; hybrid working from Church House in London and from home is possible.

You will be joining us at an exciting time as we reopen services that unfortunately closed due to the pandemic. As a coordinator, you will focus and lead on developing and delivering our community service across the East Riding of Yorkshire through drop-ins offering:

• practical hearing aid support
• information on hearing loss and tinnitus
• hearing checks

You will be responsible for co-ordinating up to 15 drop-in services and be able to recruit, train and manage a team of up to 30 volunteers to deliver the service across East Riding of Yorkshire.

You will: 

1. Coordinate our volunteering team to deliver a high level of service at our RNID Near You drop-in sessions.
2. Recruit volunteers across the East Riding of Yorkshire to strengthen existing sessions and open new sessions as required.
3. Work with NHS audiology to induct and train our volunteers to high standards.
4. Promote our sessions to ensure maximum engagement from local hearing-aid users.
5. Ensure all paperwork is processed correctly and reports to stakeholders are timely completed.

You 

You want to make a difference in people’s lives and love to interact with various audiences, including volunteers, health & care professionals, and service users. You have experience managing your own workload and are able to work flexibly when required. You can motivate volunteers to assist clients with hearing aids sensitively, to give clear guidance and take into account individual wishes and health needs.

You are ready to work for a home-working organisation and have good IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Office applications including Teams, Outlook, Excel, and Word. You will be able to recruit, train and manage a team of volunteers and deliver an excellent service across East Riding of Yorkshire. While home based, regular travel to venues where we provide drop-in sessions will be required.

Responsibilities & Main Duties:

Financial Management

• Act as an effective internal business partner to all colleagues across the charity, providing timely, accurate and relevant information to support the financial planning and performance of all services and functions.
• Day to day responsibility includes leading month end processes including reviewing and posting journals, purchase ledger, sales ledger, adjustments and balance sheet reconciliations to make sure month end reports are delivered within agreed timelines.
• Working with the team to produce the monthly management accounts pack including P&L, cashflow, balance sheet and other management reports with financial analysis and comments as required.
• Working with budget holders on the cycle of budgeting and reforecasting including working to an agreed timetable, setting up templates and working with budget holders to get them completed, plus finalizing them for senior management.
• Supporting the execution of all day-to-day financial operations and processes including management of payroll, gift aid, charity VAT, membership subscriptions, donations and other charitable income and expenditure.
• Assisting in managing external relationships with auditors, banks, pension providers, payroll partners and insurers.
• Managing relationships with stakeholders in relation to efficient issue of invoices, processing of payments, resolving queries etc

Risk Management and Compliance

• Assist in administrating the charity's risk register in timely manner.
• Assist the Director Finance & Corporate Resources in managing internal assurance and governance processes, including internal audit and compliance testing.
• Assist in compliance with contracts with suppliers and landlord as well as supporting compliance in the delivery of charitable service contracts

General

• It is the nature of the work of Garden Organic that tasks and responsibilities are, in some circumstances, unpredictable and varied. What you will do:

The Senior Partnerships Manager is responsible for driving significant growth for Canine Partners through corporate and community fundraising.

You will be passionate about providing exceptional supporter care when identifying, cultivating, and maintaining high-value corporate partnerships. You will lead the community engagement team, giving support and direction in building strong relationships with small businesses, schools, social groups, and other community partners.

You will create and foster good relationships with both community and corporate volunteers; developing and implementing comprehensive strategies to recruit, engage, and manage volunteer networks.

We have two exciting opportunities to join our Cwm Taf Morgannwg team as a Dementia Adviser!

About the role

You will have the rewarding experience of providing information, guidance and support to people affected by dementia. 

The two posts will be Community and Home based covering areas as follows:

- 1 full-time post covering Rhondda Cynon Taf and Merthyr Tydfil
- 1 full-time post covering Rhondda Cynon Taf and some of Bridgend 

These posts will also include an element of developing a pre-diagnosis support service, working with local Memory Clinics and GP surgeries to identify people who are waiting to undergo the diagnosis process who may want to access emotional and practical support and advice whilst waiting. 

As a Dementia Adviser, you will:

- Provide dementia-specific knowledge, information and advice to people affected by dementia, managing a caseload of people that you are supporting. 
- Work closely with health, adult social care and third sector colleagues assessing, signposting, and providing information and guidance to support people affected by dementia.
- Build robust working relationships and develop networking opportunities with a range of local partners and community organisations, e.g. memory clinics, social services, GPs. 
- Create pathways with partner organisations who work in the field of dementia, ensuring seamless, holistic consistent support and empowering individuals to make informed choices.  
- Provide dementia support face-to-face, by telephone and online.

About you

We are looking to welcome an approachable, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable Community-based Dementia Adviser who will focus on supporting people affected by Dementia across the areas of Rhondda Cynon Taf, Merthyr Tydfil and Bridgend. 

You will have:

- A passion for supporting people to maintain their independence, improve their sense of well-being, and help them take more control of their lives
- A solid and compassionate understanding of the needs of people affected by dementia
- The ability to work inclusively with people affected by dementia, along with an understanding of the need for client confidentially
- Great communication skills, adapting your approach to ensure understanding at all levels
- Effective networking and influencing skills and the ability to manage several tasks at once and keep yourself motivated to perform under pressure
- Good IT skills and experience working with databases and virtual meeting software (e.g., MS Teams and Zoom)
- The ability to travel across the areas of Rhondda Cynon Taf, Merthyr Tydfil and Bridgend independently when required

Alzheimer’s Disease International (ADI) is seeking a Research Partnership Lead to join our team. This role offers a great opportunity to join a passionate, dedicated and ambitious team influencing global policy. The main purpose of this role will be to: 

• Actively seek out new project and funding opportunities and submit grant applications   

• Support the development and growth of ADI’s research programme, including coordinating ADI research partnerships with academic institutions and project partners  

• Help build research capacity of ADI members  

• Coordinate ADI’s Global Dementia Expert Panel and Medical and Scientific Advisory Panel  

This position is full-time and permanent. Some international travel for several days at a time will be required. Remote or international applicants may be considered for this role depending on circumstances. 

Salary £37,000-£41,500 p.a. (if based in London)
