'In this role, you will be accountable for effective CP programme monitoring, thematic reviews and assurance of linkages between strategy and delivery. The incumbent will lead the team responsible for designing and implementing an effective programme reflection, monitoring, evaluation and knowledge management architecture.

- Ensure the country program meets WaterAid global programme accountability commitments and ensure improved monitoring practices, data quality and use of data within the CP. As part of this, champion an organizational culture shift from a focus on data being primarily for donor reporting or counting user numbers to using data for programmatic course correction and other strategic decisions.
- Support the recruitment of competent staff and effectively manage the team to deliver high performance; develop team members in order to maximize their contribution to the team and organization
- Develop the strategic context for the generation and use of research and knowledge outputs, coordinating the processes that would help identify/generate cross-cutting opportunities for sharing this knowledge and projecting WANG's niche as a source of leading edge knowledge and research required to catalyse change in the WASH sector in Nigeria and across the region
- Promote a culture for learning and knowledge management across the organization. Encourage effective documentation and sharing of learning through workshops, seminars, exposure visits, sharing meetings etc
To be successful, you'll need to meet the following criteria.
- University/Masters degree in International Development/Development Studies, Social Sciences, or other related discipline
- Minimum of Ten (10) years of prior work experience and at least three (3) years should be in senior level position with responsibility for programme monitoring, evaluation and learning.
- Excellent technical understanding of contemporary Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning methods and practices; hands-on experience in qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis.
- Comprehensive knowledge of WASH and broader development sector accountability principles and their translation into practice.
- Strong program/technical and budget management skills, demonstrable experience and ability to develop and review complex budgets required.
- Experience in designing projects and delivering activities under tight completion deadlines.
- Experience developing donor specific grant project log frames and reporting tools and in applying such tools in reviewing, monitoring and reporting against funder contracts
- Strong written and oral communication skills, effective in representation and liaison with external parties. Strong ability to communicate information and ideas effectively and to produce high quality and accurate documentation.
- Experience of working in a matrix management structure, ability to influence others to achieve results and deliver on time.
- At least 5 years' experience leading teams of experienced professionals and effectively managing their performance; Ability to effectively support and challenge colleagues and other stakeholders and to effectively plan, prioritise and co-ordinate the work of own team and collaboration with other teams

Set up in 2003, the London regional delegation focuses on pursuing humanitarian diplomacy and facilitating ICRC operations in the field. Through contact with the British and Irish governments, armed forces and members of civil society and other relevant parties, the ICRC seeks to influence policy and decision-making, so as to bolster support for IHL and principled humanitarian action. About the role
The Head of Policy and Humanitarian Affairs manages a small, dynamic team based in London, who work with colleagues across the delegation and around the world to support its main objectives: (i) to contribute towards enabling ICRC action to protect and assist people affected by armed conflict and other situations of violence; (ii) to influence the debate and secure improved decision-making on issues relevant to conflict, humanitarian action and international humanitarian law.
Reporting to, and working as adviser to, the ICRC Head (and Deputy Head) of Delegation, the Head of Policy and Humanitarian Affairs develops and oversees the implementation of the delegation’s policy and humanitarian diplomacy strategy in the UK, ensuring it is in line with the ICRC’s overall strategy. They are a member of ICRC’s global network of policy and humanitarian advisors, interacting regularly with the Policy and Humanitarian Diplomacy Divisions/Units at headquarters as well as with delegations around the world, supporting ICRC’s humanitarian diplomacy and policy dialogue. This is a role which requires working collaboratively and at pace on a wide range of issues relevant to the mandate of the ICRC and its global operations.
The Head of Policy and Humanitarian Affairs works closely with the British Red Cross ensuring optimal impact of the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement’s policy and humanitarian diplomacy objectives.
This is an outward facing job, representing the ICRC at public events, with UK Government, Parliament and the wider humanitarian sector.

Person specification (qualifications, skills & experience required)
Essential
- Master’s degree in a relevant subject;
- Strong experience (indicative 10+ years) in humanitarian policy advocacy, diplomacy, conflict analysis and/or a relevant policy position;

Further Details
This post is part of a job share and will be offered as part-time (21 hours/ 3 days per week) resident appointment based in our London office. Your job-share partner also works 3 days per week, with one crossover day. The appointment will be offered on an open-ended contract from the beginning of October 2024 (or as soon as a start date is feasible).
The Head of Policy post receives a salary at C2 ICRC London grade and it will be pro-rata for this 3 day part time role (60% FTE); the salary scale below is indicative of the full time equivalent (100%)

What is the role?
We are looking for a People Services Manager based in Winchester, at our Central Office. The role will develop and improve our People services and processes throughout every stage of a colleague's life.
The role will enable our People team to be more efficient and effective. Who are you?

Grandmentors
Grandmentors is an innovative volunteering project where older volunteers (aged 50+) use their lifetime of skills and experience to support and mentor vulnerable young people leaving the care system. These young people often need a guiding hand and role model to support them to find work, continue their education or begin training – ultimately giving them the skills and self-belief to lead successful and independent lives.

Role Purpose
To develop and deliver all aspects of our Grandmentors project across London, ensuring it achieves its aims, objectives, outcomes, and targets. The post holder will work closely with the Virtual College and Leaving Care teams within London Borough Councils and local volunteers to ensure that we improve and empower the lives of care leavers (aged 16-25) through the unique power of inter-generational mentoring.

The Job
