Job Purpose:

You’ll be out on meetings, enjoy telling people about what we do – and bringing on board new partners in property and our local community creating value, raising brand awareness, income and aligning with our mission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the team with an understanding of how you are contributing to the organisation’s strategic goals.
- Gain awareness of our vision, mission, and core service model, and be a brand expert on us when asked any question either out and about, on the phone, or using that knowledge when writing sales copy.
- Estate agent partnership growth: Working to establish us further as a go to for local estate agents across our area of operation.
- Educating our local authority partners: You’ll drive the team to build up awareness with our partners in local authorities by getting in front of social care, and housing teams to tell them all about why we do what we do.
- Collaboration is key: Work closely with the fundraising manager, housing, and finance teams to ensure that our key messages are joined up.
- Stakeholder Management: Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including landlords, estate agents, service providers, and major community partners, ensuring long-term collaboration and mutual value.
- Innovation and Growth: Share your ideas, research, insight and understanding in supporting the departments continual improvement.
- Reporting accurately on the team’s performance. The team will be measured on number of relevant meetings, presentations and new partnerships bought on each quarter.
- Be prepared to commit to ad hoc tasks across the organisation on occasion. Everyone at Zetetick is expected to conduct Homeliness visits and contribute to work at times that is not exclusive to their job description.

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Sunday (5 days) acting as an emergency contact on a rota basis one weekend in four.

The People Manager will be responsible for overseeing the staffing across each one of our stores, ensuring that shops are fully staffed day to day. They will need a practical and engaging approach to enable staff to thrive in their roles and feel supported to meet the charity’s vision and mission. They will work alongside the rest of the retail team ensuring the aims and objectives of the people strategy are achieved.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
People Management
- Be responsible and accountable for the day-to-day operations relating to the people side of retail.
- Ensure the shop team and volunteer relationship is a professional and successful one
- Act as the first point of contact for the volunteer administrator in relation to volunteering matters and queries for retail.
- Effectively communicate any relevant information to all shop teams regarding updates, charity activities, incentives, and performance.
- Work closely with management and employees to embed changes and ensure solutions are realistic and sustainable.
- Be able to work closely with the retail management team including the retail sales manager to ensure the people side of the charity is not impacting sales.
- Overseeing the retail portfolio sickness and absence management including allocation and approval of annual leave throughout the year, forward planning contingency strategies ensuring shops are covered all the time even at short notice. Ensuring staffing hours do not exceed there’re banding allocation.
- Be competent in assisting with grievances, supporting with investigations and assisting with disciplinaries.
- Act as deputy safeguarding lead as and when required. Be able to act in an advisory capacity demonstrating a higher level of experience and understanding when dealing with safeguarding issues that arise.
- Be responsible for overseeing and leading with probation placements across our retail sites, acting as point of contact and ensuring that the relevant paperwork is up to date including the risk assessments for each placement.
People Development
- Ability to mentor and support staff through regular one to ones ensuring that they feel fully equipped to achieve optimum success in their work.
- Collaboratively with the HR team review and update the volunteer induction and training programme ensuring all aspects are relevant to the retail portfolio.
- Support staff with capability and performance issues including the management of their own staff issues such as, sickness, disciplinary, grievances and concerns through probation periods.
- Work closely with the retail management team on the delivery of innovative and interactive internal and external training to help staff develop their skill sets and achieve career satisfaction.
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Work closely with HR developing and implementing strategies to improve recruitment, attracting suitable staff, and retaining them.
- Ensure suitable and sufficient coverage of volunteer support in the retail portfolio.
- Lead on the recruitment of new staff members, being able to assist shop managers in developing better teams and building strong foundations in line with the people strategy and recruitment and selection policy.
- Ensure that new staff members are fully trained and placed in a suitable training store.
- Monitor and track performance throughout staff probation periods alongside the retail sales manager.

big tech. In addition, our UK-focused Bureau Local team uses an innovative community-led

At the Bureau, our funders and supporters are vital. We are almost entirely funded through grants
and donations so – put simply – without their support, we wouldn’t be here.
Although our supporters may come from different backgrounds or have varied priorities, they all
share a common goal: tackling the issues across our society that are eroding democracy and
driving inequality. They support our work to hold those in power accountable, uncover new
evidence to support positive change, and empower citizens.
The Bureau has experienced significant growth over the past three years, increasing our annual
income to £2.8m and expanding to a team of more than 40 people. While the majority of our
income comes from grants, there is strong potential for further fundraising growth, and we are
actively working to diversify our funding streams beyond trusts and foundations.

Role and Responsibilities:
Support from trusts and foundations is our main source of philanthropic income so we are looking
for somebody with experience in grants fundraising who can quickly apply their skills and
expertise. You’ll work closely with our Development Director to report to and liaise with current
funders, manage a pipeline of prospects and submit successful applications to secure new grants.
In addition, you will support in building a major donor programme to diversify and strengthen our
funding base. You will collaborate with colleagues at all levels across the organisation, from impact
producers to reporters to finance and operations, in a supportive and welcoming culture that
values teamwork and shared success.
As an excellent communicator, you will be able to take complex issues and translate them into
clear, compelling narratives that resonate with funders and stakeholders. You will also be
passionate about building strong relationships with our funders and supporters.
While experience in high-net-worth fundraising would be a valuable bonus, it is not essential. You
don’t need to have raised funds for non-profit media before, but you do need to be excited by our
work and able to express The Bureau’s key areas of work and impact in an accessible, accurate and
compelling way. We’re a small team, so you’ll need the willingness to pitch in on fundraising tasks
– big or small – to ensure The Bureau is in the best possible position to pursue its mission.
Skills and Experience:
- Excellent fundraiser with a demonstrable track record of 3+ years’ experience successfully raising significant funds for charities or non-profits and managing relationships with funders (foundations - essential, high net worth individuals - desirable);
- Strong background in managing grants admin, including due diligence and processing agreements;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, able to speak and write English fluently;
- Great analytical skills, with experience in researching and identifying new funding sources for various projects;
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities;
- Experience of working with databases and funding pipelines;
- Exceptional time management skills, a professional attitude, and meticulous attention to detail;
- Resourceful and able to think creatively with strong problem-solving skills;
- Strong interpersonal skills, able to collaborate at all levels across the organisation.
- Experience in securing funds for journalism, social justice, civil society, human rights, or related causes is desirable but not essential;
- We envisage this as a full-time, primarily hybrid working role, working from our London office two/three times a week.

This is an excellent opportunity to take on an exciting role within the Humanitarian Team of the Programme & Policy Department/Programme Management Team.
We are looking for someone with a good understanding of policies and practices managing projects with the FCDO and DEC. A good grasp of programme and financial management combined with an ability to provide distance support to Country Offices and partners.
The Humanitarian Programme Manager is responsible for the overall management for a portfolio of programmes across the programme management lifecycle from the contracting stage to close out. About you
The team is looking for a talented individual to support our portfolio projects through excellent contract and finance management. You will have knowledge of donor compliance and donor reporting and will provide integrated programme delivery, contract, and compliance expertise throughout the project cycle: from implementation plan set up to reporting and close out. To coordinate and grow York Mind’s community and events fundraising income through effective networking, event, and volunteer coordination.
This role sits within our Corporate Wellbeing Service team, where you will mainly work alongside our Head of Corporate Wellbeing Services and Corporate Fundraiser, to generate income for the charity through community engagement and events. You will be responsible for meeting the annual community and events income target. The role will require someone with strong organisational skills, and prior experience as a Fundraiser in another organisation. You will divide your time between developing, planning, and running events, supporting people to raise money on behalf of York Mind, and creating new relationships in the community, such as with schools and sports clubs. We have an annual calendar of both internal and external events, including our annual Mental Elf run, as well as challenges such as the York 10k and Yorkshire Marathon. Your role will be to fill events, and effectively steward and support people to raise as much money as possible through their participation. As part of your role in event coordination, you will be responsible for our fundraising volunteer base, including recruitment and effective utilisation of volunteers at our various events. Flexibility will be key, as some events happen on evenings and weekends. Another important part of this role will be engaging and developing relationships with community supporters. You should have strong interpersonal skills and enjoy getting out and about in the community (eg. sports clubs/community organisations) to grow our supporter base and look after those who we currently work with. Finally, the Corporate Wellbeing Services Team work collaboratively and therefore you should be able to work effectively as part of a team and be willing to support others in their roles to ensure the effective running of the whole department. For example, you may be involved in running campaigns and referring individuals to our training courses. This will require someone who is adaptable and supportive.

Role purpose
