Your Role
We are seeking a Senior Communications & PR Leader to drive impactful internal and external communications and strengthen our global network. You will be responsible for developing and executing a dynamic communications strategy while building strong relationships with media partners to raise awareness of our global alliance and its achievements. This is a hands-on role ideal for a candidate who excels at strategic thinking but is also comfortable with content creation using own copywriting and visual skills, as well as guiding other content creators from volunteering partners.

Key Requirements:

The Girls’ Network aims to inspire and empower girls from the least advantaged communities by connecting them with a mentor and a network of professional role models who are women. We have a large and growing network of supporters, mentors, schools and partners across eight regions of England.

We are now looking for a Senior Fundraising Manager to join our team.

THE ROLE

• We are going through an exciting period of development, with significant opportunity for growth within our corporate partnerships and high levels of interest to build-on and develop. The role would suit someone who is looking to work with a high degree of autonomy and who welcomes the chance to be innovative and strategic, whilst being supported to achieve their goals, working with our Fundraising & Communications team (currently four staff) and collaborating with our regional Network Managers.

About you:

• You will have at least five years relevant experience, ideally with at least three years working in corporate partnerships/fundraising and be able to demonstrate previous success in generating income and achieving targets. Income Generation

• Account manage a portfolio of corporate partners and public sector organisations, to meet operational priorities and annual income targets, providing an excellent supporter experience
• Develop funding propositions and case for support to meet priorities, working closely with Head of Fundraising and Head of Programmes
• Collaborate with Network Managers on regional corporate partnerships, to ensure consistent supporter experience and identify opportunities for development, as appropriate.

About the role:

As a Live Chat Support Worker you will be: -

• Able to respond to victims of and those affected by crime by providing emotional support, information and referral on to Victim Support services and other agencies
• Providing immediate emotional support, practical advice and trauma first aid referrals to victims of and those affected by major incidents and terrorism.
• Responsible for recording live chat conversations with victims of crime accurately and professionally, including recording all safeguarding actions taken.

Job Description

The Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) created the Culture Recovery Fund (CRF) to help cultural organisations and heritage sites during the COVID-19 pandemic. This Fund included a £254 million loans programme for arts, culture and heritage organisations. Arts Council acts as loan agent for the borrowers in the programme portfolio.

You will be responsible for all aspects of Arts Council's management of the CRF loans portfolio. You will be the principal contact with DCMS and will be required to meet with them regularly to report on a range of CRF loans portfolio issues and activities including formal portfolio reviews, loan re-profile recommendations, commissioning of external legal and financial advice, loans management process and systems.

The CRF Loans Director will have direct line management responsibility for the CRF loans team and your duties will include:

• Overseeing effective loans monitoring processes to identify where borrowers' business performance indicates a risk to loan repayment
• Reporting to DCMS on the performance of the loans' portfolio on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis.
• Making recommendations on appropriate action to take on defaulting or at-risk loans.
• Ensuring performance management, risk and internal controls are in place and used effectively.

The Successful Applicant

The successful CRF Loans Director will hold an ACA/CCAB/CIMA qualification (or equivalent) with experience of working at a senior level and exposure to working with loan lenders and borrowers.

You will have excellent financial analysis skills and be able to present complex financial information in simple understandable form to decision makers and others.

Ideally you will have a background within an audit and/or social impact organisation and have an understanding of shaping a loans fund.

Purpose of the post

HDR UK and the BHF Data Science Centre are committed to meaningful involvement and engagement where patients and the public are actively involved in shaping our work and decision-making. Reporting to the Centre’s Operations Director, this is a pivotal role that will be integral to ensuring the patient and public voice is embedded in our work at all stages.

You will work closely with public members, research and NHS communities, internal colleagues, charity partners, and funders to develop and implement plans for PPIE activity across all of our key areas of interest, in addition to the governance of the Centre.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has a passion for meaningful involvement and engagement of patients and the public, to shape and influence our work on the safe, ethical and scientifically robust use of data for research into the causes, prevention and treatment of all diseases of the heart and circulation.

The successful candidate will have a track record in working with individuals, groups and communities and have the ability to communicate complex information in clear, engaging ways. The post holder will have excellent influencing and negotiation skills, experience of working on complex projects with multiple partners and be comfortable with working at pace. Patient and public involvement and engagement in data-driven research is a growing field. The successful candidate will show a willingness and experience of developing and delivering innovative approaches to involvement where previously opportunities may not have been obvious.

Main responsibilities

Embedding PPIE in our work

• Lead on the delivery of the PPIE strategy for the BHF Data Science Centre, with oversight from the Operations Director, incorporating regular (e.g. annual) reviews and updates of the strategy.
• Lead and facilitate meetings with public contributors to integrate meaningful PPIE throughout all aspects of our work.
• Undertake and manage specific involvement and engagement activities, including but not limited to focus groups, engagement events, developing and undertaking surveys, supporting the writing of plain English summaries of projects and their outputs. In collaboration with senior colleagues, support involvement of patients and the public in the governance of our work.
• Review and provide advice on PPIE elements of research applications ensuring adequate PPIE is incorporated and provide advice where needed to researchers. 
• Develop methods to expand reach and ensure diversity of perspectives and work with the HDR UK PPIE team to grow involvement of currently underrepresented and underserved groups in health data science.
• Build and manage relationships with colleagues within the BHF Data Science Centre, working collaboratively to support and manage involvement and engagement across all areas of work.
• Work closely with the internal communications colleagues to create and disseminate engaging content (e.g. news stories on outputs and impact, videos, infographics, case studies) on our work and involvement and engagement activities using a variety of communication tools.
• Horizon scan and liaise with colleagues across the BHF Data Science Centre and HDR UK for opportunities to increase visibility of the institute’s engagement and involvement impact, i.e. through conferences, festivals, journals and other publications.

Developing PPIE best practice and collaborative working

• Incorporate best practice in our work, learning from examples of successful patient and public engagement that could influence our work
• Provide briefings for colleagues to share best practice and examples of successful patient and public engagement
• Collaborate with PPIE colleagues to coordinate public outreach initiatives and other events, ensuring that stakeholders are afforded opportunities to contribute their input and provide feedback. Establish effective working relationships and ‘ways of working’ with strategic partners to maximise opportunities for collaboration in patient and public involvement and engagement.
• Act as an internal and external ambassador for public, patient and practitioner engagement and involvement.
• Monitor and report on performance of PPIE across the Centre, make effective use of digital approaches to maximize the ability to collaborate, communicate and continuously learn.

Supporting PPIE members

• Be the point-of-contact for all BHF Data Science Centre public contributors, ensuring they are kept updated, receive all information in a timely manner and that any issues are dealt with in a sensitive manner.
• Lead on the recruitment of new public contributors as required. Adapt, develop and provide training for public contributors where necessary identifying training requirements as needed.
• Working with BHF Data Science Centre colleagues, maintain patient and public contact lists in Hubspot (CRM).

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

Experience

• Experience of working with patients, carers and members of the public with diverse interests.

Essential

• You must hold a qualification at Level 4 or above in counselling, psychology, psychotherapy, nursing or social work, and have suitable experience of working on the front line of mental health.

We have an exciting opening for someone to join our team as the Head of our Campaigns By You (CBY) team. We need a campaigns expert who understands politics, digital campaigning, platform management, partnership working and how to win both national and local grass roots campaigns.

The Head of Campaigns By You leads the CBY department, crafting plans and supporting the team to run impactful national and local campaigns launched by supporters and partner organisations, which aim to shape the country to be fair, respectful and sustainable. This role oversees the development, outreach and growth of our CBY platform to ensure that we’re giving the best possible support to petition starters and attracting a growing number of petition starters and partner organisations who share our values.

The Head of Campaigns By You must overview and lead the CBY team’s campaign outputs and the performance of the tech platform to ensure organisational health and sustainability. They manage risk, and are the escalation point for moderation decisions on what we host. They balance the CBY campaign team’s campaign portfolio to ensure that it’s engaging thousands of supporters and fundraising effectively in order to create political impact – and they lead the team to collaborate across the wider function and organisation. This is not a hands off role, you’ll be expected to lead the team by example.

Your background and experience

We are looking for someone who understands 38 Degrees, our model and our organisational culture already, and our fierce determination to change our country – campaigning to do so without fear or favour whoever is in power. You will have worked at, or with, a similar organisation to us, where our supporters are our purpose, and you’ll be ready to engage in discussions about campaigning tactics and way of working from day one.

The CBY platform is central to our mission to give people power in order to make the country fair, respectful and sustainable. You understand how to translate complex issues into everyday understandable language and you’re experienced in running digital and offline campaigns that create change in local, national, political and corporate issue areas.

You’ll have experience of working in productive and positive environments, and you’ll have insight into how teams can be set up for success in a campaigning space.

You’ll be adept and experienced at project management, understand the pressures the team face working in a fast paced reactive environment and be able to get the best of people in this context to help deliver on longer term, strategic goals alongside making the most of quick reactive opportunities.

And most of all, you will be a positive, practical person who can work with others, bringing them with you, to solve problems in a collaborative way.

2. 38 Degrees is a digital-first, people-powered campaigning organisation where millions of people do something small to add up to bigger political and corporate change. Tell us about a time you’ve worked with a similar model – and why you think this specific form of campaigning can make a difference in the country.

3. Alongside offering free petition technology to individual members of the public, our CBY platform enables us to partner with other organisations so that they can run campaigns on our systems. Knowing what you do about 38 Degrees and our political positioning, who do you think would be a good new partner organisation for us to approach to work with and why?

4. You’ve noticed a news story blowing up this morning about unfair conditions for delivery drivers, it’s headline news across the country. We want to get a petition live by this afternoon and ideally have someone with a personal story as the petition starter. What sort of person would make the best story teller, and how would you go about finding them and persuading them to start a petition?

Today, 12 children and young people will be diagnosed with cancer. We’ll stop at nothing to make sure they get the right care and support at the right time.

About the role

We’re looking for a Head of Brand and Content  to join our Brand and Marketing Communications team.  This is a brand new role and exciting opportunity to bring your passion and experience to deliver bold, impactful and innovative work.

Your creative flair and highly strategic approach to developing brands will enable you to establish the Brand and Content team as a centre of excellence, trusted and respected in the sector and across the organisation.

You will be motivated to achieve system change in cancer care for children and young people, able to inspire and drive change, trying new ways of working and collaborating with colleagues across the charity to work in an integrated way to achieve shared goals.
