The role

We are looking for a Trusts and Foundations Manager to join our Fundraising Team.  In this role you will lead on the development and delivery of the trust fundraising strategy. You will identify, research and develop applications and reporting to trusts, foundations and other grant making bodies to a high and consistent standard.

Working with colleagues across the organisation to gather input into proposals, this role will oversee the completion and submission of high-quality compliant proposals and funding applications within required timescales.

You will cultivate and manage relationships with key decision-makers within identified trusts, including the day-to-day management of new and existing funders.  You will provide regular reports on financial progress, including updates on the pipeline, prospecting, activation and grants received.

About you

For this role you will need a proven track record of meeting or exceeding income targets from trust fundraising.  You must have experience of securing one-off or multi-year grants of five figure sums or above.  You will also have significant experience of researching and writing detailed and compelling proposals for trusts. 

You must have excellent communication skills along with good research and numeracy skills. You will also be creative and innovative and have excellent organisation and prioritisation skills to manage multiple applications.  You will have the drive to work independently to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders in order to meet and exceed annual targets.

What's the role?

Your role will be to design, build, grow and promote a database of organisations, who offer products and services to schools, which have been recommended to by our members.

How you’ll be driving our mission forward

• Research and map the education marketplace

  • Understand the challenges schools buy in services to solve

  • Learn about the different providers who exist to solve them

• Design, build and manage the database school service providers

  • Define and codify the data architecture which governs the database

  • Categorise the providers by type, objectives, buyers, beneficiaries and more

  • Use no code tools to build and operate the directory

• Produce top of funnel content to promote the database, which attracts schools and providers sign up and contribute to it

  • Set and manage schedules of promotional content

  • Write valuable, practical, sharable and engaging posts on LinkedIn and Twitter about the providers and the database

• Design and build the user experience and information flows

  • Map out users journeys (both schools and providers) through the directory experience

  • Design and write sign up forms so schools and providers can access the database

  • Design and write submission forms so schools can nominate organisations and organisations can request to join the database

• Automate processes to improve user experience and your administration workload

  • Design information flow processes which manage engagement on both school and provider side

  • Use tools like Zapier, Aitable, Email and HubSpot to automate information flow and email notifications

• Cultivate a community driven approach to building the database

  • Encourage school leaders to make nominations of organisations who should be included

What experience do you have?

It’s not essential you tick every box. But the more boxes you can tick the better. It goes without saying, we can help you gain and learn from the experiences you haven’t had yet.

• Ideally, you are/were an experienced teacher and/or school leader with experience of working with 3rd party service providers

• You've had experience buying from (or at least working with) external organisations in schools and evaluating the impact of their work OR you've worked for an organisation that sells into schools in their marketing and sales departments

• You have a strong understanding of the types of problems service providers work to solve, which organisations exist in the education marketplace, the different types and their approaches and who the key buyers, users and beneficiaries of their work might be in schools.

• You've managed a school budget (or at least understand how tight they are) OR you've managed/fed into a marketing/sales budget at a school service provider OR worked in their sales/marketing department

• You’ve designed, built and managed databases/directories with low/no-code tools like Airtable, Webflow, etc

• You have experience of integrating platforms and building automations with tools like Zapier, Airtable, Hubspot, Gmail etc

• You’ve designed, produced and promoted effective lead magnets and sign up mechanisms

• You've designed slick user experiences and information flows using forms, databases and email

• You’ve crowdsourced content from audiences to leverage their collective knowledge using things like Google docs

• You’ve used social media to research and.promote your work consistently and effectively

• This role is initially 1 day week role for 52 weeks a year.
• Early success could grow this to into 2-3 day a week role within 6 months.

NSUN is a charity and a membership organisation. We are a network of grassroots, user-led mental health groups and people with lived experience of mental ill-health, distress and trauma. We connect, support and amplify the voices and work of our membership and work towards the redistribution of power and resource in mental health. 

We are looking for someone with relevant skills to develop and deliver NSUN’s policy strategy and policy/campaigns projects. NSUN takes a critical, political and rights-based approach to policy work at, centering social justice, anti-oppression, and the social and material determinants of distress and trauma. We want to work intersectionally, and do not consider ourselves to be a “single-issue” organisation. 

The Policy Manager will play a key role in creating collaborative spaces with members and partners to build momentum and sustainability for lived experience-led mental health policy and campaigns work. Though we do analyse, respond to, and engage with traditional policy mechanisms such as parliamentary processes and legislative change, our focus is more on building an alternative approach and challenging traditional silos at a time where the external environment is one of hostile and unjust structures, systems, and legislation. 

We are keen to hear from people with less traditional policy experience, such as experience of community organising: while this is not an entry-level position, you do not necessarily need to have traditional policy and influencing experience. NSUN is a user-led organisation, and all staff and trustees have lived experience of mental ill-health, distress or trauma.

We are seeking an individual to undertake the role of Head of Community Fundraising. The position requires you to have strong leadership skills, meet annual targets and manage current Community Fundraisers across the UK. In addition, you will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and have the ability to work in a meticulous manner, with great attention to detail. Ideally, you will be experienced in implementing and monitoring annual plans and budgets, and ability to travel countrywide.

The role is based in our London HQ, with a minimum of three days working in the office per week. The successful candidate for this role will need to be DBS checked and prove they have the right to work in the UK.

The postholder will be responsible for our events, community fundraising and corporate partnerships.

What you will do as part of our team

Strategic Planning

• Work with the Head of Fundraising & Major Donors and the other Fundraising Managers to refine and develop our established fundraising strategy to maximise income from events, community fundraising and corporate partnerships against an annual target.
• Develop our annual programme of events, including cultivation, stewardship and fundraising events, whether virtual or physical.

Events Management

• Overall responsibility for the design, planning and implementation of all Glass Door events, including our flagship fundraising event, the Sleep Out in the Square, and our annual supporter thank you event.
• Conduct an evaluation after each event, considering its successes, factors which could be improved and any recommendations moving forward.
• Oversee the Fundraising Officer as they support with the co-ordination and implementation of events.
• Ensure health and safety is at the core of all event planning and implementation.
• Manage our challenge events portfolio and identify new opportunities which could increase Glass Door’s income

Corporate Partnerships

• Pitch for corporate support including commercial partnerships, charity of the year relationships and sponsorship.
• Manage a portfolio of corporate partnerships, working with companies where the focus is on employee fundraising and volunteering, cause related marketing and/or pro bono support.
• Develop a Corporate prospect pipeline, reengaging lapsed donors from our database, and identifying new prospective partners.

Community Fundraising

• Oversee our work with community groups, supporting the Fundraising Officer, ensuring we provide necessary stewardship, support and guidance.
• Local churches are big supporters of our work. Support the Fundraising Officer to maintain excellent relationships and support them with events
• Establish a new community fundraising product, as an additional or alternative option to our flagship event Sleep Out

Policies and regulation

• Stay well informed of existing and new fundraising legislation and guidance from the Fundraising Regulator, ensure this is regularly communicated to the wider Fundraising team and forms the basis of Glass Door’s Fundraising Policy
• Ensure all charity fundraising activity (including "in aid of" events) is compliant with relevant charity and statutory legislation and the Code of Fundraising Practice.

Other

• Build excellent working relationship with existing donors, the Board of Trustees, staff, volunteers and other stakeholders who help promote the charity.

• Experience managing complex events delivering six figure income targets
• Demonstrable success in securing income from a range of fundraising streams, including corporate, events and community

Our expectations are high. As our new Finance Manager, you will be joining London CLT at a particularly exciting time as we enter a period of significant growth, with several projects under development and with the potential to do so much more.

You will be responsible for preparing our quarterly management accounts and annual accounts, annual budgets, and our five-year projections, and for managing the monitoring, processing, reporting and forecasting on all of our finances. For monitoring and reporting on the expenditure of grants to London CLT from our funders, managing applications for loans and for ad-hoc financial analysis. You will also work to ensure that our financial systems and processes keep pace so that we can continue to manage our finances confidently and proactively. 

Reporting to our Executive Director with the support of our Treasurer, and part of a small, friendly and growing team. This position offers a real opportunity to contribute to the future direction of London CLT and as such, we seek to attract candidates with a strong financial management and accounting background, ideally gained within housing, development, or grant-funded organisations, who can ably balance competing priorities, and make decisions under pressure, and possess good interpersonal skills and the confidence to work well with a wide range of partners and team members.
