Location: ShelterBox HQ, Truro, Cornwall (Hybrid, mix of office and home working) or remote working (UK only) regular travel to London and occasional travel within the UK, including to Truro office (if remote) will be required.

Role Purpose:
This is a new, diverse and dynamic role within ShelterBox’s high-performing Philanthropy & Partnerships Team, working closely with the Corporate Partnerships Manager on a growing corporate partnerships portfolio. You will be integral to strengthening and growing relationships with corporate partners, driving the expansion of both the number of corporate partners, and the diversity of those partnerships beyond traditional models of financial support.

The successful candidate will support the Corporate Partnerships Manager to identify and build new corporate relationships, and steward existing partnerships, taking responsibility for a portfolio of your own mid-level partners and ensuring that all our partners are valued, engaged and inspired to continue supporting ShelterBox’s life-saving work.

This role will also be crucial in driving forward a diverse range of strategic corporate partnerships, looking at skill-sharing, resource-sharing, and strategic business advice at both a national and international scale.

Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a creative, collaborative and forward-thinking individual with strong writing, organisation, and partnership-building skills. Ideally you will have some experience in a corporate partnership role, although this is not an essential requirement. This position is for someone who can excel in a varied role, forming partnerships involving stakeholders across ShelterBox’s international staff and our partners in the private sector. It is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to work in third sector-private sector partnerships, solicitation and stewardship, whilst working at an ambitious disaster relief organisation.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

• Ensuring ShelterBox’s private sector supporters receive high-quality account management, managing a portfolio of your own small to mid-size organisations.
• Supporting with the unique engagement products ShelterBox has developed for corporate partners (such as our training offering, presentations, business strategy, supporting company events.). Within this, you may be expected to help deliver elements of our training, liaising with our experienced Learning & Development team to organise and ensure successful delivery of our varied offering.
• Work collaboratively to produce high-quality bespoke reporting to demonstrate the impact of support from corporate partners.
• Develop a strong understanding of ShelterBox’s corporate partners and their motivations in order to develop and deliver new and powerful ways to bring high-value supporters closer to ShelterBox’s work.
• Build strong internal networks, particularly with ShelterBox’s International Programmes Department and Brand & Content team, to develop a range of compelling assets and materials to showcase our work and engage and inspire our corporate partners.
• Support the Corporate Partnerships Manager to deliver a calendar of engaging and emotive communications for our corporate partners, connecting them with ShelterBox’s work.
• Support on the administrative tasks to keep track of our communications with corporate partners.
• Driving the progression of innovative partnerships that involve skill and/or resource-sharing by connecting the right teams within ShelterBox with the experts at our corporate partners, acting as the convener for strategic projects.
• Support with the delivery of Philanthropy & Partnerships stewardship and cultivation events.
• Support with preparations for and delivery of emergency fundraising activity in response to major disasters.

• Drive forward activities to deliver a thriving corporate partnership funding pipeline, including prospect research, prioritisation and network mapping.
• Keep abreast of sector trends and attend conferences and company events to build on existing relationships/develop new opportunities.

Role Summary

Our Communications Officer plays a key role in our central Communications team, working collaboratively with colleagues to create impactful messages which are consistent, clear and well-planned. Through this work, you’ll support thousands of people across three key work programmes – Behaviour Change, Culture Shift and Information and Advice. You’ll have a particular focus in supporting the Senior Communications Manager with messaging across emails, our website and other digital channels, and play a key role in developing content with people who want to share their own experiences of alcohol and alcohol harm. You will have responsibility for wider tasks across the team, including monitoring inboxes, creating reports and supporting colleagues flexibly, particularly during busier campaign periods.

7 Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Communications and content

1. Support the Senior Communications Manager to develop year-round content strategies and planning

2. Create clear copy for a range of channels (including website, emails, social media) which influences and motivates audiences to take action and support Alcohol Change UK’s work

3. Ensure all communications are well-framed, on-message and fit with our brand guidelines

4. Lead on our monthly newsletter, developing, writing and scheduling on Mailchimp, and using reports and insights to think creatively about how to engage our audiences effectively

5. Play a coordinating role for the organisation’s wider email communications, collaborating with colleagues from other departments to ensure regular engagement emails are on message, and on brand

Website maintenance and development

1. Create clear, well-written content for our website – particularly focusing on engaging Information and Advice content

2. Make regular updates to website content, and troubleshoot issues as they arise

3. Ensure ongoing implementation of our Search Engine Optimisation and accessibility best practices

4. Support the Senior Communications Manager with annual planning and implementation of improved user journeys and experiences

5. Act as a champion for the website, developing relationships with colleagues from across the organisation to support new projects, content and campaigns across the site

Enabling people to share their experiences

1. Empathetically and respectfully work with individuals to share their stories, creating a wide range of content (blogs, quotes and case studies) to be used flexibly across Alcohol Change UK’s channels

2. Follow up leads for people who want to share their experiences publicly

3. Utilise our CRM system to manage relationships and coordinate content by themes

4. Support colleagues from all teams to include impactful personal experiences, bringing our content and campaigns to life

Team support

1. Monitor team inboxes including dryjanuary@ and contact@ ensuring great customer service and that all enquiries are dealt with in a timely fashion

2. Complete monthly team KPI reports, with a specific focus on email and website engagement data, providing analysis for optimisation throughout the year 8

3. As required, support the Behaviour Change team with Facebook Community Group monitoring, completing slots on the agreed team rota

4. Provide ad-hoc support to the Digital team with social media monitoring and responses as required

Cross-organisational Role

1. Work closely with colleagues across the Communications team and wider charity to support their work and to act as ‘one team’

2. Contribute actively and positively to charity-wide strategies

Other Duties

1. Continually develop your knowledge of alcohol harm and solutions to it

2. Act as a positive ambassador for Alcohol Change UK at all times

3. Know, embrace and actively uphold the values of Alcohol Change UK at all times

4. Work flexible hours as necessary to meet the needs of the charity – time off in lieu will be earnt for any work required outside of normal working hours

Support through campaign periods

The post holder will be expected to support the team with additional tasks through our busiest period from November-January. All members of the communications team are expected to work at times during the Christmas and New Year period, including bank holidays. A rota system is in place and Time of in Lieu is provided for additional hours worked.

About the person:

The successful candidate will have a profound understanding of the complexities and intersections within the LGBT+ community and workforce. Supported by a Trustee Board that includes senior HR expertise, this role requires someone who has experience in establishing a trusted culture, preferably within a third sector organisation. Minimum CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent experience), including a solid understanding of UK employment law.

About the Role

As Head of Regional Operations, Africa Group 2 – francophone countries, you will provide critical support, evidence-based operational guidance and capacity building to drive the growth of high-quality family planning and safe abortion programmes across the MSI Africa Group 2 which includes 7 countries. Location: London Support Office (hybrid working – 2 days per week in the office) or where any MSI country programme operates.

Full-time: 35 hours a week, Monday to Friday for UK based team members (for other countries the working hours will be in line with the local labour law).

Contract type: 3 year fixed term contract.

Salary: £46,000 - £59,600 per annum for UK based candidates. Discretionary bonus + benefits. For all other locations, the salary will be banded within the national context.

Housing Support Worker – North West

Job type: Full Time, permanent

Salary: £24,962 Per Annum (Base salary £23,962 + £1,000 Unsociable Hours)

Nacro is a national Social Justice Charity with more than 50 years' experience of changing lives, building stronger communities, and working with stakeholders towards reducing crime.

Nacro deliver the Community Accommodation Support service (CAS) which is a national service across England and Wales. The service allows Courts to make greater use of bail by providing accommodation in the community with support for adult defendants who could not otherwise be bailed.  CAS also provides support for adults released from Custody in the last three months of their sentence on Home Detention Curfew (HDC) and other Licence Orders.   

The Team provides flexible and holistic support to Residents who have a wide range of support needs. We aim to support our Residents to find and keep a stable home at the end of their CAS-2 placement. You will manage a caseload of Residents and properties in your allocated area.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Support clients to comply with the requirements of their HDC/Bail conditions.
• Producing a realistic and achievable Support Plan to include accessing and using housing and accommodation services to support move on to longer term accommodation. 
• Ensure that all Support Plans and Risk Assessments are unique, inclusive and person-centred.
• Provide weekly support to Residents to engage with their support plan and contribute to the achievement of their objectives and aspirations.
• Support Residents to access Housing Benefit in the first instance to ensure that their tenancy is not put at risk with escalating rent arrears.
• Manage properties within your area of responsibility to ensure they are being maintained to Decent Homes Standard by reporting repairs, and replacing furniture and equipment are required.
• Undertake basic cleaning tasks as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver effective, person-centred Support and Safety Plans 
• Provide weekly support sessions (up to 2 hours per week) working with our Residents to achieve the goals identified on individual Support and Move On Plans.
• Maintain up to date individual Resident records.
• Support Housing Benefit applications for each Resident.
• Complete referrals to specialist support agencies in the community as required.
• Liaise with Partner Agencies such as The Probation and Prison Services, Courts, and Police where necessary.
• Ensure that properties are always adequately equipped, maintained, furnished, and clean.
• Empower and motivate Residents to identify and achieve desired outcomes.
• Develop Move-on plans with Residents at the earliest opportunity, identifying realistic options for their future home.

St Joseph’s Hospice has an exciting role on offer within the Volunteers Team. We are seeking an experienced Volunteering Support Officer who, ideally, has previous administration experience and an understanding of working with volunteers and who is able to provide support to volunteering admin across the team. In this role, you will work 37.5 hours per week.

Main Duties

You will be responsible for the day-to-day admin in the team, including applying for volunteers’ references and DBS checks and uploading adverts onto recruitment sites. You will also have an opportunity to assist in volunteer information sessions and training and provide other admin support as needed. To be successful, you will have proven administration, organisation and communication skills, experience of communicating with a diverse range of people, and the ability to work independently. You may also have experience of supporting group workshops and delivering presentations.

Drug and Alcohol Coordinator

Location: Durham, DH1 3BQ

The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a DACT Navigator (Drug and Alcohol Care Team) to support the organisation’s service delivery within the community services.  As a DACT Navigator, you will provide 1:1 support for service users, from brief interventions through to structured treatment, and supporting those within the community. You will take a “whole person” holistic approach to ensure that every service user’s package of care encompasses all areas of their wellbeing, to achieve the best possible outcomes for every person.

As DACT navigator, you would support:

• Those experiencing ongoing alcohol and drug issues
• Mental health is identified as an underlying issue or drug and alcohol related.
• Ongoing complex mental health need (self-reported or diagnosed) which is impacting on being able to address their substance misuse or impacting on their engagement with the service.
• Risk levels identified as moderate to high, i.e risk taking or erratic behaviour, self-harm and fluctuating suicidal ideation.
• Not currently referred or engaging with CMHT
• Possible frequent attendance at hospital, calls to crisis team, frequently referred to services but often does not engage.
• Identified at either complex case, MDT, Hospital liaison, crisis team or mental health huddles.

Please note this role is based across county Durham - driving licence is essential.

This role does involve occasional weekend working, there is a rota and every 12 weeks you will be required to work 9-12 on a Saturday

Skills and Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or above or equivalent) or willing to work towards this in post.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programmes.
• Understanding of and ability to implement interventions, including brief interventions MI, PSIs, CBT and ITEP.
• Delivering 1-2-1 and group therapeutic interventions.
• Experience of working with carers and families.

About the role

As a Corporate Volunteering Officer, you’ll be instrumental in ensuring a quality corporate volunteering experience that equips volunteers with the skills and expertise required to have the biggest impact in the fight for home. You’ll take ownership for cohesively managing corporate volunteering journeys to ensure a positive and consistent experience, including overseeing volunteer comms and engagement

Leading on our innovative corporate volunteering mentoring programmes, you’ll manage the recruitment, onboarding and ongoing support of our volunteer mentors whilst developing our programme so that it can have the biggest impact.

We’ll also rely on you to coordinate corporate volunteering opportunities from our portfolio, ranging from upcycling, retail volunteering, cheering and stewarding at events and volunteering at our services, as well as playing an instrumental role in our new Financial Health Volunteering programme. Day-to-day, you’ll create and deliver briefings and training for our corporate volunteers whilst also improving and developing new resources.
