We are seeking an entusiastic and caring Operations Officer who will be responsible for the day-to-day operational activitites of the organisation focused on patient support and project delivery. The role will involve a close working relationship with our Fundraising and Events Officer, and our Board of Trustees, and will be a pivotal role within our small but mighty organisation. This is an exciting role working directly with multiple stakeholders including our beneficiaries, NHS and scientific collaborators and funders to deliver our values and benefit. Job Purpose

Provide a fully person-centred Support Worker/Case Management service, including assessment, recovery planning, co-ordination, and review, for veterans and their families. The Support Worker/Case Manager will also specifically provide welfare support, guidance, and advice where this is required as part of a recovery plan.

Working collaboratively as part of our wider Recovery Services Directorate, you will identify need, create support pathways (internal and external), and co-ordinate structured support plans where beneficiaries have multi-dimensional or more intensive needs.

The requirement for collaborative practice extends to supporting, as required, hybrid and blended models of service provision including the design and delivery of group programmes, promoting engagement opportunities and community activation. The provision of accessible services is achieved through utilising opportunities for physical, remote, and digital delivery methods.

Informed by a strengths/asset-based approach, the Support Worker/Case Manager will work to an ethos which nurtures and harnesses beneficiary confidence, competence, attributes, skills, and knowledge by promoting engagement, purposeful participation, and independence. This is with a view to progressing recovery and sustaining wellness in line with the Help for Heroes’ Fair Deal commitment.

Localised activity of the Support Worker/Case Manager will reflect community assets and resources available to maximise the recovery chances of individuals.

Help For Heroes are looking for a highly skilled, professional, and experienced Lead Occupational Therapist to join our expanding clinical team. Are you a committed, flexible OT with a minimum of 6 years post-registration experience and experience working at Band 7 or above looking to expand your skills and have the opportunity to work with the Armed Forces Community? Key responsibilities

A. Programme development and delivery

The Biochemical Society are seeking a Marketing and Communications Officer to support the work of the Marketing and Communications team across the organization to support member and community engagement.

In this role, the postholder will provide support for membership activities, including user journey, recruitment and retention campaigns, ongoing communications to and for the Society’s communities including, but not limited to, the Early Career Advisory Panel and Network, the Policy Advisory Panel and Network, the Local Ambassadors, and other Committees and Panels, and operational support when needed.

We are looking for a part time Information & Advocacy Community Support Worker in Scotland, home based in North Scotland (Inverness or surrounding area due to travel requirements and location of NHS services).

You will ensure that service users (children and adults) and their families, receive high quality support, from the point of diagnosis and throughout their journey, and will assist them to access funding, equipment and care and support that they are entitled to. You will join a team that makes a real difference to the lives of the people living with muscle-wasting conditions, and their families, in Scotland. The role will be primarily home based, but there will also be a requirement to attend outpatient clinics within the region, attend home visits where appropriate and to support responding to queries through the helpline and information inbox. Some travel will be required to attend meetings and events outside of Scotland. You will work with both statutory and voluntary organisations, clinicians, and health and social care professionals to ensure that people living with muscle wasting conditions get the care and support they need to live well and independently.

You will conduct 15 speaking engagements to allocated churches in your region. 12 out of the 15 engagements need to take place during the main service, most likely on a Sunday morning. Other engagements can happen on a Saturday or mid-week event. If required and individually agreed, instead of two of the 15 speaking engagements at a church, the role holder might represent BMS at a ministers’ conference or a Christian event. Preparation, training, travel and speaking time are compensated and mileage is reimbursed. 

The time required for this role adds up to about 12 hours per month / 140 hours per year. This is made up of 15 speaking engagements, including the time for travel, arriving early and staying for tea and biscuits (5h per speaking engagement), preparation time (0.5h per engagement), keeping up to date with BMS’ development with our regular publications (about 15h per year), organising speaking engagements, including all communications with the church from the offer of a visit to follow up communications after a visit, recording all communications and raising any changes to role holders (2h per engagement), attending training (online and in person), team and coaching meetings (about 15h per year). 

Please note that BMS deems this role to be inside IR35 and, due to the nature of the role, will contract successful candidates via an Umbrella Agency for pay and tax purposes. You would log your hours on an hours sheet which you would submit quarterly.

Purpose of the role 

You will be working with the Communications and Engagement team to promote CharityComms and what we offer, through the creation and development of effective and engaging content, and community and stakeholder engagement. 

Communications and content are at the heart of this role, and we’re looking for someone with demonstratable experience in strategic, content-based projects, including commissioning and editing content from external stakeholders, social media management and content creation, and community management. 

Social media management and community engagement 

You will own the social media management of our channels, maximising their performance and supporting stakeholder engagement with our work. You will:

• Deliver and adapt a creative and engaging social content strategy with the Communications and Engagement Manager that meets our wider business aims and objectives. 
• Craft key organisational messaging into engaging social media content and posts to generate conversations. 
• Be responsible for creating, scheduling and managing social content using Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and our management tool, Sprout Social. 
• Responsible for maintaining upkeep of social analytics reporting, as directed by the Communications and Engagement Manager, to ensure activity supports wider marketing, communications and engagement strategies. 
• Continuously improve our social media presence and brand profile, including recommending and piloting new approaches to content and channel development to increase community engagement and meet targets. 
• Manage and monitor forum and social media groups and act as facilitator of conversations where needed, working closely with relevant colleagues and stakeholders.

Join the AKU Society as the Head of Patient Support and Welfare, a pivotal role dedicated to enhancing the lives of patients with alkaptonuria (AKU), a rare genetic disorder. We are seeking an individual to undertake the dual role of promoting the profile of the RAF Benevolent Funds welfare offer whilst also carrying out welfare casework. This is a community-based position working from home but covering the South East England region (Buckinghamshire; Oxfordshire; Berkshire; Hampshire; Sussex; Kent).

The post holder will be expected to undertake holistic assessment of need both remotely (over the telephone and online) and when required in person across their region. You will be expected to work with individuals who may have complex and sometimes challenging welfare needs, assisting them by identifying appropriate support from within both the RAF Benevolent Fund but also the wider statutory and military charity sector ensuring that support is made available to meet the need through the caseworking process.

The successful candidate will have experience of working in a social welfare role supporting individuals and will have strong people and relationship-building skills, as well as empathy with or understanding of issues affecting the Armed Forces community. The role is home based, with travel around the region covered as well as occasional travel to London. The successful candidate for this role will need to be DBS checked and prove they have the right to work in the UK.

If you have events fundraising experience, a knack for planning and executing exceptional supporter experiences, are highly organised and comfortable overseeing multiple third-party event cycles simultaneously… Then we want to hear from you!

You would be joining a small but dedicated team, harnessing your passion for designing and delivering exceptional, engaging events (whether virtually or in-person).

About you:

The role involves all aspects of managing a portfolio of our third-party events, from initial set-up, marketing, stewardship, event logistics to event evaluation.  As such, we’re looking for an experienced events fundraiser, with a flair for project management, keen eye for detail and a passion for facilitating opportunities for our supporters to reach and achieve their goals.

You’ll be a confident communicator with strong marketing experience, great at building relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Combined with excellent organisation and time management skills and the ability to manage competing priorities whilst keeping to deadlines, you’ll bring your knowledge, creativity and new ideas to help continue improve the experiences of our third-party event participants.

You will be comfortable using data and insight to monitor event performance, identifying potential opportunities and areas of growth or decline, making recommendations for change where necessary.
