About the Role
Are you someone who is passionate about seeing positive change in our world? Can you bring knowledge and creativity in designing innovative and effective peacebuilding programmes?
We are looking for someone to support our programmes and institutional fundraising with excellent writing skills, who is passionate about addressing the root causes of and inequalities caused by conflict. You will be someone passionate about the work Cord does and who can bring technical institutional funding expertise alongside peacebuilding knowledge to our small and committed team.
In this role you will lead the development of new programmes and institutional funding bids in line with Cord’s peacebuilding approach and 5 main programme areas. You will manage proposal submissions to Cord’s key donors such as the EU, US State Department, GIZ, SDC, UN Peacebuilding Fund etc. You will be working closely with country teams to design and write proposals based on strong project designs developed in partnership with our local partners.
The role will also operate at a strategic level by managing Cord’s relationships with key donors and shaping how Cord communicates about its programmes and the added-value that Cord brings.

Role Overview:
The Fundraising Lead will play a pivotal role in driving Be Free Campaign’s community and partnership-focused fundraising initiatives. This role is centred on building relationships with individual donors, community supporters, and strategic partners to ensure sustainable growth and broaden Be Free Campaign’s impact on young people’s mental health. Key Responsibilities:
• Community Engagement and Individual Giving:

Key Skills and Qualifications:

MAIN PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THE JOB
To develop and manage a calendar of both MDD owned and community led events in order to maximise income and raise awareness of the charity. To support MDD volunteers in delivering their fundraising activities by ensuring best practice at all times and working closely with the Volunteer Manager to provide guidance and training to ensure compliance. To develop an effective programme of support for individuals taking part in third party challenge events in aid of MDD.

Overall Responsibilities
- To deliver a range of community activities and events, maximising engagement of supporters and achieving income targets. Develop appropriate processes, procedures and guidelines to ensure that community fundraisers receive a consistently high level of support.
- Plan, support and deliver events and activities organised directly by MDD and promote the charity at external events.
- Work with Head of Fundraising on developing income and expenditure plans, with responsibility for monitoring and reporting regularly on individual event budgets and income targets.
Community
- Engage with local communities, groups and societies, building new relationships and strengthening existing ones, to raise awareness of MDD with the objective of increasing income in line with targets
- Provide support, advice and encouragement to groups and individuals wishing to raise funds in aid of MDD
- Regularly review quality and success rates of MDD merchandise, helping to maximise sales through community events and ensuing that promotional material is distributed to volunteers and accounted for.
Events
- Lead and develop the calendar of events, taking responsibility for the delivery and provide onsite management on the day
- Manage any volunteers required to support the safe delivery of all events
- Work alongside the Marketing and Communications Team to develop and implement plans to promote all events
Challenge Events
- Develop and produce supporter materials and provide excellent one to one support for all event participants (individuals and teams participating in third party and / or hosted challenge activities). Working closely with the Corporate Fundraising Manager to engage with teams of corporate participants.
General Administration
- Act as first point of contact for Fundraising Team, offering exceptional customer service to supporters.
- Update the Harlequin CRM database as required to ensure all information on our supporters and their activities on our behalf is as accurate and up to date as possible.
- Take responsibility for health and safety, events insurance, liability, safeguarding and data protection for all events, including managing risk and maintaining event data in line with legislation and data governance.
Other tasks or ad hoc duties agreed with your line manager required to ensure the successful running of the charity.
EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL
- Experience of fundraising, preferably within a community or events team
- Experience of planning, organising and delivering events
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
- An ability to work unsupervised and within a team to demonstrate a high level of innovation
- Confident and self-motivated individual with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people at different levels.
- Enthusiastic and able to inspire people who want to raise funds for the charity
- A good level of competency is required in MS Office packages such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
DESIRABLE
- Prior experience of using CRM systems
- An understanding of the legal obligations of Charity Law and regulation
- Experience of public speaking and presenting to a diverse range of audiences

- A full current driving license

- You will be required to have a criminal record check carried out by the Disclosure & Barring (DBS) when you first join the charity and at regular intervals thereafter.

THE ROLE
The Fundraising Manage (Trusts & Foundations) role would suit someone who is looking to work with a high degree of autonomy and who welcomes the chance to be innovative and strategic, whilst being supported to achieve their goals. The role is within our Fundraising & Communications team of four staff and works in collaboration with regional Senior Network Managers. There is an opportunity for the post holder to collaborate with the Partnerships Manager on the development of applications to corporate foundations.
Income generation
- Primary focus of the role is the responsibility for Trusts & Foundations fundraising, to meet annual targets.
- Develop compelling funding propositions and case for support to meet priorities, working closely with colleagues in Fundraising & Communications, Programmes and Monitoring, Research, Evaluation & Learning.
- Maintain an up to date pipeline of prospects through research and excellent record keeping, ensuring that applications are made to meet known deadlines.
- Ensure that all reporting and grant monitoring is delivered in a timely manner, working closely with the MERL Manager and colleagues across Programmes.
- Provide internal management information and reporting to the Head of Fundraising on a quarterly basis, or as required.
Stewardship
- Develop data management processes, ensuring timely impact reporting or other agreed deliverables.
- Ensure all donations and supporters are thanked in a timely and appropriate mode to their giving channel.
- Keep all relevant donor and financial information up-to-date on Salesforce, ensuring adherence to GDPR and other relevant good practice, as defined by the Fundraising Regulator and other sector bodies.

You will have at least five years relevant experience, ideally with at least three years working in fundraising and be able to demonstrate previous success in generating income and achieving targets. Purpose of the Role:

1. Stewardship and relationship management:

- Act as a point of contact for individual and group fundraisers, ensuring they are supported effectively to increase engagement.
- Work with those raising funds and ensure they have all the resources required for a successful event/activity.
2. Maximise fundraising income generation:
- Be part of the development of new funding streams, including in-memory donations, legacy giving, and regular giving.
- Provide fundraising materials to individuals, groups, and associations as required (e.g., how-to guides, t-shirts, badges, pens, banners, leaflets).
- Work closely in partnership with Options’ Culture and Training team, and Community and Inclusion team, to offer event support and identify income generation and fundraising opportunities at existing events.
3. Fundraising Events Co-ordination:
- Deliver a calendar of fundraising events.
- Offer event support at Options events when needed.
- Ensure event participants are supported to fundraise actively.
- Work with the Marketing and Fundraising Manager, Marketing Officer, and Social Media Apprentice to promote fundraising events, and make best use of team resources to ensure events are successful.
4. Awareness and Outreach:
- Encourage new individuals, groups, and businesses to fundraise for Options.
- Identify new community fundraising opportunities, and actively develop these through good stewardship and relationship building.
- Work with colleagues to promote event and community fundraising opportunities.
- Work with the Social Media Apprentice to create content for social media, website, and other publications.
- Attend events/talks and be a champion of Options and highlight the importance of fundraising.
5. Data Management:
- Use the CRM to store and manage fundraiser data in a useful structure, and in line with GDPR.
- Record supporter communications and any future actions.
- Process data from fundraising platforms on a regular basis.
Qualifications and Skills:
