The Digital Marketing Coordinator is a new role, that sits in a newly established Communications and Marketing team. Our organisation is growing, and we now need to step up our game in how we deliver our digital communications to our many different audiences.

We are the Marine Conservation Society, a UK charity fighting for a cleaner, better-protected, healthier ocean: one we can all enjoy.

This is reducing the ocean's ability to help fight the climate crisis. While a third of UK seas are protected on paper, less than 1% are well managed. We are determined to change this. We are now looking for a Senior Philanthropy Manager to join us on a permanent basis, working 28-35 hours per week.

The Role
As our Senior Philanthropy Manager, you will build and sustain our major gifts programme, driving our income stream and ensuring our work can continue.
Specifically, you will secure long-term relationships with high net-worth donors, capitalising on environmental philanthropy.
Reporting to the Director of Fundraising and Development, you will facilitate the development of the major gifts programme, working collaboratively to develop and deliver a major gifts strategy to generate up to six-figure gifts.
You will build a prospect pipeline of donors, develop compelling, well-defined cases for support, and undertake long-term, innovative and impactful projects and themed areas of work.
Additionally, you will:
- Create bespoke stewardship plans for all current supporters
- Develop a calendar of engagement opportunities and stewardship events
- Build relationships which support peer-to-peer fundraising
- Lead on implementing the operational plan for major gifts
- Provide leadership and direction to the major gifts programme
About You
To be considered as a Senior Philanthropy Manager, you will need:
- Experience of securing five- and six-figure gifts from high net-worth individuals
- Experience of prospect research
- Experience of major gift fundraising
- Experience of developing bespoke funding proposals and reports
- An understanding of fundraising and data protection regulations
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation and networking skills

Media and Comms Manager

Galop, the UK’s LGBT+ anti-abuse charity, is seeking a Comms Manager who is passionate about improving life for the LGBT+ community in the UK.
Founded in 1982, Galop has been championing the needs and safety of the LGBT+ community for 40 years. Galop works directly with thousands of LGBT+ people who have experienced abuse and violence every year. We specialise in supporting victims and survivors of domestic abuse, sexual violence, hate crime, and other forms of abuse including honour-based abuse, forced marriage, and so-called conversion therapies. We are a service run by LGBT+ people, for LGBT+ people, and the needs of our community are at the centre of what we do.
We run a National Abuse & Violence Helpline, which brings together our four national support helplines for LGBT+ victims and survivors of: domestic abuse; hate crime; rape and sexual abuse; and so-called “conversion therapy”. We provide longer-term support to thousands of LGBT+ victims and survivors of abuse through our advocacy and therapeutic services. We are person-centred, empowerment-based, and trauma-informed – meaning our focus is always on helping our clients decide what is best for them, and then supporting them through their journey.
We use what we learn through working on the frontlines with clients to work on national and local policy change, to improve outcomes for LGBT+ victims and survivors of abuse and violence. We build evidence through key pieces of research around LGBT+ people’s experiences of abuse and violence. We push for legislative change, improved statutory guidance for victims, and better understanding of the needs of LGBT+ people around the country.
About the Comms Manager
The Comms Manager is a strategic, hands-on and varied role that reports into our Head of Fundraising and Comms. You will play a pivotal part in helping Galop to reach our community, increase engagement amongst our supporters and amplify the voices of LGBT+ abuse and violence victims.
You will be our first point of contact with the press and media, and lead on drafting statements, providing quotes, arranging media and briefing the CEO for any external appearances.
You will have responsibility and oversight of our social media channels and website content, working closely with key stakeholders across our fundraising, frontline and senior management teams to meet the needs of the charity and create content which resonates with our audience.
You will work with and support the CEO and Head of Fundraising and Comms to drive internal comms as Galop grows. You will also be responsible for co-creating, planning and delivering an annual communications plan for the organisation with the senior leadership team, ensuring an effective and consistent voice in both our proactive and reactive comms work.
The need for Galop’s work has grown in recent years, and this is an exciting time to join our ambitious team and help shape our charity’s future. Due to the nature of the role, in cases of emergencies or urgent external situations, weekend or evening work may occasionally be required.

About the role
We are looking for an exceptional Senior Philanthropy Manager - Trusts & Foundations (Health) to join our Fundraising & Supporter Development team to significantly increase philanthropic income for health fundraising priorities across King’s College London.

What this role entails?
The Medical Sciences Divisional development team is small but highly effective, working collaboratively with colleagues across the Division and with expert colleagues in Development and Alumni Engagement. Both Heads of Department, Professor Belinda Lennox (Psychiatry) and Professor Kevin Talbot (Clinical Neurosciences) are closely involved with fundraising and will be strategic partners for the post holder.
This is a key role within the team and the post holder will have the opportunity to work with donors and academics at the highest level. Development at Oxford is well established and this role has the scope to work across a number of important and high-profile projects related to neurosciences, including mental health and neurological disease, including a future redevelopment of the Warneford site.
The post holder will manage a portfolio of more than 100 major gifts prospects. They will be responsible for the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of potential donors able to support Neuroscience related projects (encompassing mental health and neurological disease) in the Medical Sciences Division at Oxford, typically in the range of £100,000-£1,000,000 over time.
To be successful in this role:
* Proven fundraising experience in a complex organisation and direct involvement in securing major gifts
* Evidence of leading or contributing to a major relationship to achieve successful fundraising
* Ability to establish credibility, confidence and robust relationships with existing and prospective donors, and key stakeholders
* An ability to think both strategically and tactically about the relations between potential donors and fund-raising goals
* An ability to provide specialist expertise in the area of major gift giving, and to develop a long-term strategy for the solicitation of principal gifts

About the role
For the past five years, Platform’s fossil free work has focused on the coordination of the activist network UK Divest, with the aim to disrupt the financing of the fossil fuel industry through local government pension schemes. In the past two years, the remit of our work has expanded, to include new campaigns focused on exposing and disrupting fossil fuel industry sportswashing and the lobbying of Parliament. Now, with new campaigning underway on new targets in the pension sector, we are re-organising and growing our team to resource this exciting work.
Working alongside three Fossil Free Campaigners at Platform - and partners at Friends of the Earth Scotland - you will build on the strengths and learnings of past years to lead the strategic development of this important programme of work, incorporating UK Divest, Fossil Free Parliament, fossil free sports work, and new pensions work.
Our fossil free campaign is also inextricably tied to other movements for social justice. We are specifically seeking someone to develop the international solidarity potential of this work, understanding how fossil fuels are intertwined with the defence industry, colonialism, and global extraction more broadly. We want to target investment in and political support for fossil fuel companies because we believe it is intricately linked to broader global justice, such as the UK Government’s role in supporting destructive energy projects worldwide. The best divestment and anti-fossil fuel campaigning has been, and your future work will be, informed by and responsive to the BDS movement, the Global Energy Embargo for Palestine and anti-apartheid and arms trade work.
As a permanent member of Platform staff, you will also participate in the collective decision-making and running of Platform as an organisation, as well as having fundraising responsibilities alongside your project work.

Hours: 4 days (32 hours per week based on a 40 hour week)

Salary: Baseline salary is £42,248 pro rata (£33,791 at 4 days a week) and is subject to Platform’s Socially Just Waging System.

Working with the Individual Giving and Legacies Manager, the post holder will deliver a strategy to grow income, providing excellent stewardship to legacy enquirers and pledgers. Relationship building with local solicitors, funeral directors and other key stakeholders will be key along with proactive legacy marketing campaigns, and the promotion of the Centers in memory gardens.
A confident and creative professional with experience in individual giving fundraising – ideally in memory giving or legacies - the successful applicant will be adept at building relationships and comfortable offering compassionate guidance to potential donors. Evidence of being a credible, clear communicator will be key and copywriting and creative design skills a huge bonus.
