Duties and key responsibilities
1. Trusts and Foundations
- Act as the main point of contact for trusts and foundations supporting gifts under £10,000, ensuring they receive timely and appropriate support, materials, and updates to foster successful grant applications and long-term relationships.
- Identify and research new trusts and foundations whose funding priorities align with Sarcoma UK’s mission.
- Plan and coordinate the schedule of grant applications aligning with internal priorities and submission deadlines.
- Draft compelling grant applications, ensuring high-quality submissions, and coordinate the process of application tracking and reporting.
- Maintain the existing pipeline of trust fundraising activities in Raiser's Edge, monitoring progress and ensuring follow-up actions are taken.
- Cultivate and strengthen relationships with new and existing trusts, foundations, and grant-making bodies.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the Trusts and Foundations fundraising strategy.
- Work with the Research, Policy, and Support Services teams to arrange meetings between trust representatives and Sarcoma UK funded project leads, where appropriate.
- Collaborate with the Communications team to ensure that trust and foundation-related web pages are up-to-date and engaging.
2. Fundraising Support
Merchandise
- Manage stock by overseeing merchandise stock levels, liaising with suppliers, processing orders, and ensuring smooth fulfilment of orders.
- Manage Sarcoma UK’s online shop, ensuring it is regularly updated with accurate product listings and that orders are processed efficiently, meeting supporter expectations.
Administrative Support
- Provide general administrative support across all fundraising activities and projects as needed by the organisation.
- Produce regular reports on fundraising activities, including data from JustGiving, Enthuse, and GoFundMe, ensuring accurate tracking and evaluation.
- Contribute to the smooth running of the organisation, assisting with general administrative tasks and ensuring processes are followed consistently.
- Monitor, evaluate and analyse fundraising activities, providing insights to inform future strategies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on Sarcoma UK’s fundraising database (Raiser's Edge).
Supporter Care
- Respond promptly and professionally to fundraising inquiries via post, email, and phone, offering support and guidance to donors and fundraisers.
General Fundraising Support
- Collaborate with the Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager to identify new prospects within Sarcoma UK’s supporter community.
- Work with the Communications team to identify and maximise publicity opportunities, raising awareness of Sarcoma UK’s fundraising efforts.
- Provide occasional support for Major Donor fundraising activities as needed.
- Stay up to date with the latest fundraising practices and trends ensuring Sarcoma UK’s processes and procedures align with best practices.
3. Other Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Sarcoma UK’s existing and potential supporters, including contacts within trusts and foundations.
- The role may require occasional travel to events and meetings across the UK, including some evening or weekend work, for which Time Off In Lieu (TOIL) will be provided.
- Adapt to the evolving needs of Sarcoma UK, taking on additional duties and responsibilities as required.

Every 30 minutes, someone in Wales is diagnosed with cancer. It is predicted that one in two of us will have cancer in our lifetime and by 2030, over 230,000 people in Wales will be living with it.
As cancer outcomes in Wales tend to be poorer than other UK devolved nations and European countries with similar healthcare systems, it is critical that more research is done and quickly. The good news is that incredible work is being done in Wales to ensure earlier diagnosis and more effective treatment.

About the role
You'll be the face of the charity in North Wales, building relationships with community supporters and businesses through corporate partnerships. As this is a new role in the team, we're realistic about what's possible and you'll be supported to build a sustainable pipeline of long-term support across the region.
It's a varied role with huge amounts of potential, working closely alongside fundraising, research and retail colleagues. Opportunities will be available with a wide range of individuals and organisations, including community fundraising volunteers and committees, Welsh business, schools, universities, clubs and associations. Prostate Cancer Research exists to honour the men and families who have been through things no family should have to go through, and to work for a future where no one needs to fear a prostate cancer diagnosis.
We are always working to provide resources to help, support and empower patients. Giving them the information they need to make better choices about their treatment, while working to identify and target specific unmet needs in the prostate cancer ecosystem, such as racial inequality and bone metastasis.
Our dedicated staff team is the key to our success, expanding the amount of research that we fund five times over in four years. PCR has been shortlisted for an Impact Prize and won the Change Project of the year award in 2023.
It’s been a successful couple of years for PCR’s Events & Community team with good results across the portfolio, raising over £1.4m (against a target of £800k) in 2023-24. Now’s an exciting time as we’ve recently expanded the team, whilst refreshing our structure and roles to make priorities clear and ensure the whole team can do their best work – contributing to PCR’s lifesaving mission, developing in their careers and enjoying their jobs within our ambitious and supportive team.
We are now recruiting for a new Events & Community Executive to join the frontline of our fundraising stewardship, so strong relationship-building skills and a love of creating great supporter experiences are essential. A big part of this role is project managing PCR’s fundraising activities, including virtual and third-party challenges. This exciting Events Fundraising Executive role is responsible for supporting the delivery of the Whizz Kidz third-party events portfolio, including the London Marathon where we have over 500 runners this year.
You will project manage our events from set up and planning, to recruiting and stewarding supporters whilst maintaining an excellent level of supporter care. Key accountabilities
• Being the first point of contact for enquiries from event participants

The Head of Fundraising is an exciting new role developed for the Society to increase fundraising and develop additional income streams to enhance the sustainability of the Society. They will help deliver the Transformation Plan, an exciting new project for Scotland’s oldest learned antiquarian Society to help deliver the Society’s vision: “Scotland’s past is for everyone to research, share, enjoy and protect, home and abroad”.
The Transformation Plan includes the acquisition and redevelopment of a B-listed building in central Edinburgh to co-create the most inclusive, low-carbon and heritage-rich space to work, visit and participate. This will become a heritage hub for Scotland’s past, helping to bring heritage alive for a wide range of public audiences. This role will provide the necessary vision, leadership, and fundraising skills which will enable the Society to achieve its fundraising targets and enhance its development program.
They will be an effective fundraiser and key contact for grant giving organisations, personal donations and legacies. They will report directly to the Director sharing collective responsibility to deliver the Society’s strategy and vision.
Initially on a 2.5-year fixed term contract, with the possibility of extension subject to funding, the post will work as part of the senior management team and liaise directly with staff, Councillors (trustees), members (known as Fellows) and other organisations and individuals to ensure the successful delivery of their responsibilities.

Person Specification

Further Information
This post is an initial 2.5-year (30 month) full-time contract which will be extendible subject to funding. There will be a short probationary period during which time your skills and suitability for the position will be assessed. Development of fundraising for the Transformation Plan will be the immediate priority. A lot of work has already been undertaken by the Society in preparing for an NLHF application as part of this, but the skill and experience of this post will ensure it has the maximum chance of success. This will include liaising with others, including NLHF staff and our consultants, the More Partnership.
The tasks and role will develop in line with the requirements in that application and the implementation of the Transformation Plan and will be reviewed after the submission of the initial NLHF bid. Purpose of role
The International Board are seeking a senior International Fundraising Director with significant experience in major donor fundraising who will help drive the organisation’s fundraising strategy by strengthening and diversifying its fundraising sources. The Mission requires an experienced leader with a proven track record in international fundraising who will inspire our teams to differentiate and grow income as the organisation enters a new phase of strategic growth. The International Fundraising Director – with this focus on Major Donors - will provide leadership, oversight and guidance to the Mission’s national country fundraising directors - working with the International Director of Communication and Individual Fundraising and the wider fundraising team. They will work with major international donors and engage with field countries on targeted local fundraising and impact reporting.

Primary responsibilities
Donor development and outreach
· To provide strategic direction, leadership and drive for fundraising in all new development areas across the Mission. - Partnership Facilitation: Experience in fostering programmatic collaborations between NGOs and other stakeholders, including consortia.
- Private Sector Collaboration: An appreciation of the private sector’s role in NGO operations, with the ability to identify and establish mutually beneficial partnerships with commercial entities.
- Strategy: Demonstrated experience developing and implementing a strategy.
- Adaptability and Entrepreneurial Mindset: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively and seize new opportunities as they arise.
- Team Leadership and Development: At least two years of experience leading teams, including mentoring and developing junior staff.
