The Role:
As a Community and Events Fundraiser, you will:
- Engage and Inspire: Work with our amazing community supporters, raising the profile of Prospect Hospice and attracting new supporters to our cause.
- Drive Fundraising Efforts: Help our supporters organize and participate in various events, activities, and fundraising platforms to generate essential income.
- Achieve Impactful Targets: Channel your drive and commitment to meet and exceed fundraising targets, directly contributing to the care and support we offer to our patients and their families.
- Flexible Work Schedule: Work 30 to 37.5 hours per week (minimum 3 days in the office), Monday to Friday, with the ability to work evenings and weekends when needed for events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Income and Expenditure Management: Take charge of your own targets, ensuring a robust and sustainable income stream for the hospice.
- Supporter Experience: Provide exceptional support and guidance to groups and individuals organising events and activities in aid of the hospice, maximizing their fundraising opportunities.
- Ambassador Role: Act as a passionate ambassador for Prospect Hospice, recruiting sign-ups, encouraging fundraising efforts, and galvanizing community support.
- Community Relationship Building: We’re looking for someone local to Swindon, Marlborough and northwest Wiltshire to build and maintain strong relationships within the community, using your experience to foster long-term engagement.

With 1 in 5 children struggling with their mental health, our surf therapy intervention is needed now more than ever. We transform the lives of children struggling with depression and anxiety. Through our 6 week course we help them to feel calm, confident, to have positive thoughts about themselves, to have higher self esteem and trust in others. We work with over 2000 children and young people across the UK every year and have reached over 14,000 over the past 14 years.

As well as our Centre Manager, the staff team includes our Administration Manager, caretaker and cafe staff. We also have a great team of volunteers, and a strong Board of Trustees responsible for the governance of the charity. We receive no external funding and operate largely from hire income and successful applications for grant funding.
The role
As Centre Manager, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of this busy, vibrant community centre and engaging with the community and hirers to present a welcoming, friendly and inclusive atmosphere. Your role will include:
- promoting Malvern Cube and what it offers, developing and maintaining a strong community presence and ensuring that the facilities are well used and hire income is maximised.
- ensuring the effective robust financial management of Malvern Cube and providing regular financial reports to trustees.
- leading and developing the staff and volunteer teams
- contributing to the development of Malvern Cube's strategic plan and leading on key aspects of its implementation.
- day-to-day interface with centre users, hirers and the general public.

This is a new role at the DEC and developed as a key part of the DEC’s 2024-2029 strategy. The DEC has a wide range of established relationships with trusts and foundations, many of which give 6- and 7-figure sums to DEC appeals. The Trusts & Foundations Manager will be responsible for providing excellent stewardship to our portfolio of trusts and foundations. In addition, the role will also be responsible for cultivating new relationships for the DEC through thorough research, and through the prospect development cycle, to raise money for DEC appeals. In addition to appeal fundraising, the Trusts & Foundations Manager will be responsible for delivering on a new core cost fundraising strategy, in close partnership with the Head of Philanthropy & Partnerships.
Demonstrable, transferable trusts and foundations experience and knowledge, (preferably within the humanitarian & charity sector), will hold you in good stead for this exciting new role.
Key responsibilities include:
Strategic Development: Develop and manage the trusts and foundations portfolio and create compelling proposals for future appeals and core costs income. Showcase new ideas and innovative approaches for growing and developing a pipeline of new prospects. Develop engaging stewardship plans.
Administrative Compliance: Lead and manage, robust and professional grant management, ensuring systems and processes are fit for purpose, streamlined and accessible. Remain compliant with grant terms and conditions, ensuring you are clearly communicating the unique contours of the DEC model whilst providing comprehensive and inspiring impact reporting.
Relationship Management: Maintain regular contact and collaboration with internal teams to collate a high-quality suite of communication materials and stewardship plans specific to a trust and foundation audience. Proactively reach out and build long-lasting relationships with funders to reach ambitious fundraising targets.
Monitoring and Evaluation: Monitor, measure and evaluate progress against the DEC’s strategic goals and funds raised from trusts and foundations. Prepare regular reports for senior management and trustees on the development, progress and future strategic actions for trusts and foundations at the DEC.

As part of the Community Fundraising and Events Team, the Community Fundraising Manager's core role and purpose is to work individually and collaboratively as part of a wider team to deliver fundraising income, recruit and support volunteer and community fundraising supporters, engage and support volunteers and colleagues in the wider organisation, and promote Hearing Dogs in line with our strategy, standards and supporting plan. What you need to succeed
- Proactive and confident self-starter with either direct experience of raising funds or from equivalent experience gained either within the voluntary sector or the commercial world.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills coupled with an enthusiastic and positive approach.
- Ability to work as part of a team and to contribute towards the success of the Community Fundraising team and wider team at Hearing Dogs.
- Computer literate with MS365 applications and knowledge and experience of databases and an ability to keep accurate records of all contacts and relevant information.
- Ability to work on own, without close and constant support and supervision and to be able to handle pressure, deadlines and targets.

The Role
Building relationships with the fire and rescue services in your area, you’ll become an integral part of the local fire services community. You’ll join a nation-wide team of inspiring and innovative fundraisers, working collaboratively to secure the much-needed income for the Charity.
Helping to coordinate events, support fundraising initiatives and implement new ideas, you’ll support your people, stations, and offices to raise awareness of the Charity and achieve and exceed income targets, as well as working with local businesses and people to maximise our fundraising potential.
By generating the income we need to realise our ambitions, you will help us to be there for even more members of the fire and rescue community.

About You
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and innovative fundraiser to join our team, full of ideas and a positive attitude. You’ll need excellent business and project planning skills, as well as the ability to multi-task and adapt your communication style to your audience.
You’ll be responsible for maximising the potential fundraising income from every initiative you support, so you must be able to effectively engage with multiple stakeholders and build strong networks.
You’ll also be able to support and inspire our volunteers, ensuring that these vital links between our Charity and the fire and rescue services are happy and fulfilled in their roles.
Reporting to the Regional Fundraising Manager, you’ll be an excellent communicator with exceptional organisational skills and a ‘can do’ attitude.

· To develop and deliver a robust programme of fundraising events in line with the fundraising team’s needs, working closely with colleagues leading on major appeals and work with high value donors and institutional funders
· To lead on stewardship activities for supporters across events, community and challenge events, managing team members who are directly responsible for these areas
· To lead on a review of the charity’s existing programme of events aimed at improving return on investment and delivering a programme of events in line with wider strategic objectives
Person Specification:
· Excellent experience with a successful track record of charity fundraising across a broad range of disciplines including events and legacy giving
· A thorough understanding of GDPR, ICO and Fundraising Regulator guidelines and legislation around prospect and donor development
· Successful track record of recruiting and stewarding event participants
· Able to manage expectations of a number of stakeholders with competing priorities
· Proven ability to successfully influence and engage with a range of audiences and stakeholders

Working to a new Fundraising strategy with ambitious plans for growth, the Public Fundraising Manager will help us reach the next level in our income generation.
The role will combine direct responsibility for the retention and growth of our Individual Giving income streams (regular giving, lottery, appeals) with leadership and support of our other public facing income streams (community, legacy and in memory giving).
