Crisis Skylight Coventry deliver outreach services for people who are homeless, have been homeless in the last two years or, are at risk of becoming homeless. This is an exciting time in the development of the Skylight as the coverage of service delivery expands to reach even more homeless people in the city.

About the role
As a SHPS (Single Homeless Prevention Service) Housing Coach you will be working with individuals to prevent or relieve homelessness by sourcing affordable, suitable, and sustainable private rented sector accommodation. You will also help individuals to address any other support needs they may have which are a barrier to achieving their goals and ending their homelessness by linking them with relevant agencies. This role requires skilled delivery of a range of interventions and a passion for working with those who face multiple disadvantages in society. We welcome candidates who can bring enthusiasm to learn, transferrable skills and/or have housing experience.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have transferrable skills and/or housing experience and can demonstrate skills and values in the following areas:
- Supporting people to prevent and relieve homelessness (through assessments, housing people, negotiating with landlords, advice, and support to sustain tenancies)
- Demonstrating a pro-active and solution-focused approach to supporting individuals overcome barriers they are facing around housing.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and results focused environment.
- Liaising and negotiating with a range of stakeholders effectively to achieve the best possible outcome for the people you work with (landlords, accommodation providers, local authorities, DWP, etc.).
- Actively contribute to sourcing suitable and affordable accommodation
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and administrative skills to manage a client caseload and own workload.
- You are pro-active and adaptable; uphold the dignity of all individuals you work with and demonstrate a willingness to follow best practice and a clear resolve to end homelessness.

The role of an Animal Welfare Officer can be very rewarding, making a real difference to the well-being of animals in our branch area. However, it can also be demanding. You will be dealing with friendly animals but also frightened, injured or wild animals.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Management Accountant will play a key role in supporting the Finance Team by preparing monthly management accounts with variance analysis, budget holder reports, and statutory accounts. This role is based in the UK on a remote homeworking contract or based in our London / Edinburgh office. If the role is based in the London / Edinburgh office, you will be required to attend the office for a minimum of 2 days per week with the option to work remotely for the remaining 3 days.

About the role
We are seeking a Legacy Marketing Manager to lead innovative legacy and in memory campaigns that inspire supporters to leave a gift in their Will. In this role, you will develop and execute marketing strategies with your team to drive legacy and in memory donations, using multi-channel approaches, compelling storytelling, and data-driven insights. You will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to enhance engagement, and ensure Christian Aid continues to make an impact for generations to come.

You have a strong understanding of multi-channel marketing, and enjoy analysing campaign performance to optimise results.
A natural relationship-builder, you are confident in engaging with stakeholders, supporters, and internal teams to drive legacy and in memory fundraising initiatives. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects with attention to detail and ensuring all messaging aligns with brand values and fundraising regulations.

The vacancy
We are seeking to appoint seven Advisory panel members for the following committees:
Companies Committee (one dispensing optician, one optometrist and one business registrant)
Education Committee (one dispensing optician and one registered medical practitioner)
Registration Committee (one dispensing optician and one lay member)
Please note that applicants cannot be appointed to more than one committee.
About the GOC
We are the regulator for the optical professions in the UK. Our purpose is to protect the public by promoting high standards of education, performance and conduct.
About the Advisory Panel
The Advisory Panel is a meeting of the four Council’s committees (Companies, Education, Registration and Standards) in plenary session. They are established by statute for the purpose of giving advice and assistance to Council (whether or not in response to a request from them) on:
· matters relating to business registrants other than matters required by the Opticians Act to be referred to the Investigation Committee, the Registration Appeals Committee or the Fitness to Practise Committee;
· matters relating to optical training, education and assessment;
· matters relating to registration, other than matters required by the Opticians Act to be considered by the Registration Appeals Committee; and
· matters relating to the standards of conduct and performance expected of registrants or those seeking admission to the register.
The committees and the Advisory Panel meet about twice a year. You can read the current terms of reference for the Advisory Panel, Education Committee, Registration Committee and Standards Committee.
Remuneration and time commitment
A daily fee of £319 will be paid. This is in line with our member fees policy and member fee schedule. This is taxable and subject to Class 1 National Insurance (NI) contributions. It is not pensionable.
Members can claim expenses for travel and subsistence costs incurred on Council business as set out in our expenses policy.
This role is part time with a commitment of approximately 2-3 days per year, including time spent preparing for meetings. Meetings will usually take place via MS Teams but may on occasion be held at the GOC Offices in London or other suitable venues.
