Due to project expansion Aquarius Young People’s Substance Misuse Team are recruiting for several Complex Needs Practitioners - Substance Misuse across the county.
Aquarius has been providing structured and targeted interventions to young people engaging in, at risk of substance misuse or affected by parental substance misuse for many years.
You will work on an outreach basis, including visiting schools & colleges, the Children and Families service, the YOT as well as other local community agencies. The role will involve:
- supporting young people away from engaging in substance misuse
- providing young people with skills and coping strategies to manage their recovery journey
- delivering 1-1 and some group work interventions
- targeted outreach to engage 'hard-to-reach' young people
- delivery of service talks and substance misuse presentations to enhance external professional workforce development with our partner agencies.
Working hours will be Monday-Friday, 37 hours per week, most work will occur during the day, however as a young people’s service we may occasionally ask you to support out of hours sessional work.
Holding a relevant qualification in substance misuse/youth work/psychology/counselling/ mental health/social care or with relevant experience and willingness to work towards a Level 3 Qualification in Health & Social Care you will also:
- Have experience of working with at risk/vulnerable young people in a community setting.
- Be able to deliver behaviour change support, including group work.
- Be knowledgeable about: safeguarding children, confidentiality, consent and mental capacity and Hidden Harm.
- Adopt a flexible approach to work - hours and locations.

We're looking for an efficient, friendly Volunteer Co-ordinator to join our team. Much of our work is delivered by volunteers, so this post is critical to our service delivery. You will recruit, induct, and coordinate volunteers; including leading our Good Neighbours Scheme and Befriending Scheme and supporting the recruitment for all other projects.
About you: You will have experience of volunteering and in coordinating volunteers or staff, and have strong organisational and communication skills. You will be pro-active and diligent and able to solve problems as they arise. We are seeking a Sex Worker Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (SWISVA) to provide appropriate emotional and practical 1-to-1 support to people involved in sex work, who often experience stigma and face barriers to accessing services. Working within a specialist sexual violence approach, you will be enabling people to access support and navigate services, including those directly related to sexual violence. You will support them to navigate criminal justice processes if they wish to do so. You will be working in partnership with other agencies and making appropriate referrals for people to access other services to support their wider needs. You will play a key role in advocating for improved responses to sexual violence, including pathways through the criminal justice processes.
The post is part of a unique partnership between National Ugly Mugs, Basis Yorkshire and POW (Nottingham) to ensure more specialist support for sex workers who have experienced sexual violence, to develop good practice guidelines, develop and share learning, and to influence change in provisions for sex workers. Each organisation will be employing a SWISVA; the program will be led by a Program Coordinator who will be based with Basis Yorkshire, and who will lead on influencing of policy and sharing of learning to improve outcomes for sex workers who have experienced sexual violence
The main role responsibilities (further outlined in the job description) are:

Oversee a caseload of people who have experienced sexual violence

Ensure that sex workers have access to specialist sexual violence services, including access to the SARC and support throughout the criminal justice process

The AFRUCA Child Protection Family Support Service sits within AFRUCA as one of our most impactful programmes targeting families from a range of ethnic backgrounds across England and Wales. The service works closely with local authorities children’s services in cases involving families on child protection plans or in court proceedings. We provide direct one to one training and support for parents to aid their ability to provide appropriate parenting and ensure a safer, happier home environment for their children.
The AFRUCA Child Protection Service currently has a team of five qualified social workers and supports over 50 families each year. We also provide a therapeutic service where children are being reunified with their parents. We are establishing a child protection legal drop in service for families in contact with children’s services and an advocacy service for parents in the child protection system.
Most of our families are referred by local authorities children’s services as a result of cultural and religious practices which are deemed harmful to children’s well-being. We offer qualified social workers who do not wish to work in the statutory sector with an alternative approach to practising social work where empathy, kindness and support is key to our work with families. Our ultimate aim is a reduction of children in Black and Ethnic communities going into or remaining in foster care. We offer a non oppressive and non judgemental service that helps to promote the well-being of children in safe families.
We are looking to attract a qualified social worker who supports our ethos and is willing to contribute to our work with families to protect more children in our communities.

This is a senior role within our People & Organisational Development directorate. About the role:
Working within a passionate team providing an effective, high quality support service to address the presenting needs of clients with complex needs in relation to poly substance misuse, mental health, and a wide variety of associated issues (including: street activity, offending, physical health, background of complex trauma.)
The primary role of the project is to enable clients to understand their emotional and mental health needs and manage these effectively. Project workers will also support clients to develop their living skills, develop & manage relationships, build social networks and access education, training or employment, by completing comprehensive needs and risk assessments with clients and identifying short-term objectives.
Project workers will need to be resilient, innovative, flexible and creative. A commitment to working collaboratively and within a recovery framework. There will be an element of housing management work with the expectation that clients manage a successful tenancy before moving on to more independent housing.
The Project Worker role be required to work a rota inclusive of early, lates weekends, on average one weekend in four.

Summary of the Role
As a Trust and Grant Fundraiser, you will play a crucial role in securing funds from various trusts, foundations, and grant-making organisations to support the mission and projects of Roundabout, South Yorkshire’s youth homeless charity. The successful candidate will be responsible for researching potential funding sources, developing compelling grant proposals, and cultivating relationships with donors.
You will spend time researching grants to apply for and build relationships with award funding bodies. In addition, you will need to develop relationships with the different projects at Roundabout to know what they need funding and to interpret the results to feedback to funders.
The successful candidate will be instrumental in conducting comprehensive research, crafting persuasive grant proposals, and fostering meaningful relationships with donors to drive the organisation's fundraising success.

Key accountabilities

- Stay connected with evolving trends in grant-making, philanthropy, and social services to maximize funding potential.
- Collaborate closely with project managers and relevant staff to gather insights and data necessary for creating compelling grant proposals and evaluations.
- Craft clear, concise, and impactful grant proposals that effectively articulate Roundabout's objectives, strategies, and the profound impact of our initiatives for young homeless people in South Yorkshire.
- Cultivate and nurture relationships with current and prospective donors, foundations, and funding bodies through regular communication and engagement.
- Establish a deep understanding of the philanthropic priorities and interests of potential funders to tailor proposals effectively.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting to donors, maintaining transparency and accountability.
- Monitor grant progress, adherence to project timelines, and compliance with grant agreements, while proactively addressing any challenges that may arise.
- Oversee the administration and reporting requirements for awarded grants.
- Prepare monthly report on applications and results.
- Responsible for own administration including accurate recording of all applications, responses and communications on the CRM database.

Person Specification
Specific Knowledge, Experience and Skills
- Proven experience in trusts and grants fundraising within the charity sector.
- Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
- Minimum GCSE Grade C in English and Maths (or equivalent)

- Familiarity with grant management processes and reporting requirements.
- Experience in using Windows-based software packages such as Excel and CRM Systems with experience of analysing spreadsheets.

Key Responsibilities
To work closely with the Evidence & Advocacy Manager (EAM) to develop and implement a series of impactful evidence and research projects that support our advocacy messaging, as well as internal and external learning for inclusive programmes and advisory work. These projects will build on established workstreams alongside developing new ones to maintain and extend CBM UK’s evidence base.
Disability Evidence, Policy Research and Learning
With EAM support the ongoing CBM UK Research and Evidence workstream, through:
1. Translating evidence from our programming countries and projects to produce and contribute to a range of resources to influence FCDO and other stakeholders. Tasks to include managing and maintaining established outputs, such as the CBM UK Project Evidence Briefs and Disability Voices paper series, generating new thematic papers, as well as policy and position papers to enhance effective advocacy submissions, briefing notes, blogs and other messaging on key disability rights issues.
2. Working collaboratively within CBM UK and across CBM Global to help develop and to deliver new policy research, drawing on mixed methods and data sources including national and international databases, using qualitative approaches including participatory or citizen generated data, and new empirical work.
3. Supporting Programme staff to improve impact and learning practice in CBM UK funded projects, provide technical support for the implementation of programme related research and data collection, including MEAL.
4. Providing technical research support into the development of proposals for new grant funded projects, and, where successful, support the management of subsequent research projects.
5. Keeping abreast of new research and publications on key themes and priority concerns within the CBM UK Advocacy and Influencing Strategy, taking into consideration sector trends and developments, and ensure this is disseminated to relevant staff within the CBM UK Team.
6. Keeping watch on UK policy environment and conducting research and analysis to support CBM UK advocacy messaging on disability and human rights.
Dissemination and Communications
1. Maintaining and developing internal knowledge management systems for research and information on disability inclusion and rights, and related areas, to be used by Advocacy, Programmes and Fundraising & Communications teams.
2. Ensuring communication plans are developed with CBM UK and Global Federation colleagues for CBM UK evidence outputs.
3. Maintaining the Advocacy and Influencing pages of the CBM UK website ensuring rights-based communication and focus to support CBM UK and Global campaigns.
4. Liaison with Fundraising & Communications colleagues to amplify media stories, case studies and compelling evidence from country programming for advocacy purposes.
5. Participation in and building good relationships with UK-based disability and development networks, including relevant research networks and membership of the BOND Disability and Development Group.
6. Supporting the professional publication and printing of CBM UK outputs, for dissemination at advocacy engagements and public events.
Other
1. Work with other CBM UK teams to maximise cross fertilisation opportunities and integrated working.
2. Help develop a culture of enthusiasm and success, reflecting the ambitions of CBM. Play an active role across CBM, promoting positive working and innovation. Ensure that the values of CBM UK are understood by external partners and always reflected in communications.
