We're a democratic, membership organisation and all students at the Royal College of Art (RCA) are automatically members of the Union. Overall legal responsibility for the Students' Union rests with our Board of Trustees which is made up of two full-time Sabbatical Officers, two student trustees and three external trustees. The Sabbatical officers are elected each year by, and from, the student membership of the College; this is a full time paid role they take up after they have completed their studies.

About the role
Under the direction of the Board of Trustees, the Director is accountable for the performance, management, development and sustainability of RCASU and responsible for developing and leading the Union's services, strategy and objectives to meet students’ needs.
As Director, you’ll work closely with RCA and our key partners, leading campaigns, shaping policies, and supporting student life. You'll also oversee our unique “Art Bar,” a popular space overlooking the Royal Albert Hall, which hosts events throughout the year. RCA’s influence in art and design has a legacy dating back to 1837; today, RCASU continues this legacy by supporting students who push creative boundaries.
This is a unique opportunity to collaborate with passionate student leaders, a skilled staff team, and a supportive Board of Trustees. You'll safeguard a strong partnership with the College, ensuring the Students' Union is a vital and valued partner in enhancing the student experience. With your strategic direction, operational acumen, and championing of student voices, you'll lead RCASU into an exciting new era.
The successful candidate won’t necessarily need to come from the Higher Education sector, but you must be able to demonstrate a good understanding of the trends and issues that affect our students. You’ll have a good understanding of charity governance, financial & commercial management, and organisational development.

This is an exciting opportunity to work as a refuge worker within a refuge service, supporting women and their children fleeing domestic abuse. Your responsibilities will include supporting and advocating for women and children, taking part in the on-call rota, managing day to day running of the refuge; health & safety, safeguarding, supporting the service and deputy manager.
Some of the key accountabilities are:

Providing practical and emotional support to survivors of domestic violence and other forms of violence and abuse in accordance with Refuge’s philosophical principles. This will include conducting key work sessions on a regular basis and keeping casework records up to date.

Welcoming new residents, explaining and arranging for them to sign occupancy agreements, ensuring that they are aware of their options for moving on to more permanent accommodation and to develop a proactive move on strategy for individual residents.

Establishing the risks to, and the needs of survivors of, domestic violence and their children through assessing their practical and emotional support needs throughout their stay at the refuge.

Developing individual support and risk management plans which address the risk of harm to survivors of domestic violence and other forms of violence and abuse and their children, and to ensure that such plans are in place for each resident.

Ensuring that any issues in relation to safeguarding children or vulnerable adults are brought to the immediate attention of the service manager, or if unavailable another manager.

Working in partnership with other agencies and to advocate for survivors to ensure their needs are met.

New Horizon Youth Centre (NHYC) runs London's only youth-specific emergency accommodation project in partnership with Depaul UK. Role responsibilities
· Proactive and effective contribution to the Senior Leadership Team towards the achievement of our overall organisational strategy, with direct responsibility for leading on the second key objective of our Changing Communities theme.
· Development and delivery of an innovative income maximisation helpline across England and Wales, in collaboration with the Citizens Advice England & Wales, along with other key organisations in the anti-poverty sector, offering immediate telephone advice and support to people facing crisis through c130 FTE trained specialist advice workers.
· Development and delivery of income maximisation programmes in NI and Scotland to support people in crisis to access advice and holistic support
· Lead and develop a high-performing team of c25 in order to support every food bank to develop and execute a strategic plan in each of their communities, that seeks to improve the local referral pathways, putting advice at the front end of the journey for people in crisis, to include the delivery of a strategic grant programme of c. £15 million to embed financial inclusion initiatives.
· Ensure that all financial inclusion service provision is underpinned by sustained and meaningful participation from people with lived experience, ensuring the journey of the person in crisis is continuously improved through utilising data and sector learning on best practice for effective service delivery across channels, considering barriers, gaps and referral pathways

We are recruiting a Team Manager to deliver For Baby’s Sake in a new Regional Team in the North East of England. The post will be home based with some elements of hybrid working. Applicants need to be located in the North East of England and be able to travel across the region.
For Baby’s Sake is an innovative, therapeutic, trauma-informed programme. We work with both co-parents individually, supporting a recovery framework to overcome the devastating effects of domestic abuse in their relationship. We acknowledge and explore unresolved and often complex childhood trauma and change harmful patterns of behaviour to develop a home environment where children can flourish. We adopt an attachment-focussed parenting approach that enhances the opportunity for children to feel safe and secure, with parents who are emotionally available and attuned to all their needs.
There must be a current pregnancy to harness change motivations, a desire on behalf of both parents to coparent their unborn baby (although they do not have to be in a relationship) and we can work with the families up until the baby reaches the age of two. The significance of this two-year timescale is evidenced in all recent child development research.

This is an exciting, broad and varied role with opportunities to gain experience in new areas such as office administration, facilities, IT, health and safety as well as event planning. This role is office based with one day a week working from home.
The successful candidate will be an effective communicator with excellent IT and problem-solving skills and will be self-motivated and able to work well in a team environment.
The successful candidate does not need to demonstrate extensive experience in operations, and we do not require the postholder to have any specific qualifications. We are looking for someone who has great interpersonal skills, is proactive and interested in learning new things, and who is excited to be part of a team in one of the UK’s oldest and most effective human rights campaigning organisations.

Communications Manager
We are looking for an experienced, hands-on communications all-rounder with a breadth of skills to help deliver the strategic communications objectives for a national youth charity.
The charity is poised at an exciting phase of growth, with seven large scale youth centres (called Youth Zones) set to open over the next three years, a new three year organisational strategy, and an ambitious strategic communications strategy to support this in place.

Position: Regional Communications Manager
Location: Hybrid working: two days a week in the Bolton office combined with home-working and travel across our Youth Zones in development (Barnsley, Crewe, Grimsby, Preston) plus occasional other travel as required.
Salary: £34,000 - £37,000 per annum

About the Role
This is a key role within the communications team that will see you create understanding and awareness between the organisation and the key local and regional audiences that matter, as the charity embarks on its biggest ever period of growth.
This role will involve managing a small portfolio of local end-to-end integrated communications and PR programmes at various stages, to launch new Youth Zones in Barnsley, Crewe, Grimsby and Preston. You will work closely with each Youth Zone’s Relationship Managers and Fundraisers, as well as its CEO, and Trustee Board, and Young People's Development Group, acting as their trusted communications advisor.
In addition, you will oversee and lead a fundraising focussed communications and marketing campaign to boost reach to new funders (who we call Founder Patrons) in the areas where there are new Youth Zones.
The breadth of this role means no two days are the same, which is why we are seeking somebody organised, dynamic and self-motivated with exceptional project management and stakeholder management skills.
About You
We will be looking for someone that can demonstrate a broad range of communications skills from working with local media to place newsworthy, positive stories around the Youth Zones development, to supporting the development of new Youth Zones websites.
If you are as confident pitching a story to media as you are managing a branding project or overseeing an event, then this could be the role for you.
There will also be opportunities to contribute to the national communications plan, working closely with the Director of Communications and Brand on several high-profile projects, including overseeing and launching the new Youth Advocates programme, working with young people across the Network.
