Parenting Mental Health is a charity dedicated to supporting parents and carers of children experiencing mental health challenges. Your Role:

As our Fundraising Manager, you will develop and implement robust fundraising for the charity growing our income through existing and new fundraising streams.  One of our initial ambitions is to implement an individual giving programme as well as build community and challenge event fundraising.  It’s a varied and rewarding role where you will contribute to the charity’s continued success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Trusts and Foundations: research potential funding opportunities, submit applications, and maintain relationships with existing grantors.
• Individual Giving: develop and implement an individual giving programme.
• Community Fundraising: develop and implement community fundraising initiatives to generate vital income.
• Challenge Events: develop and implement a programme of UK based events, encouraging participants to meet their fundraising targets.
• Corporate Fundraising: identify and engage corporate partners, securing financial support and managing ongoing partnerships.
• Donor Stewardship: ensure donors feel valued by sending timely acknowledgements and regular updates on the impact of their support.
• Database: help implement and maintain a new CRM system.

• An experienced fundraiser with a proven track record of delivering fundraising strategy and results.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the implementation of Mothers’ Union’s fundraising strategy as defined by the annual Individual Giving fundraising budget and plan.
• To maintain professional standards whilst representing Mothers’ Union, ensuring both the reputation of the charity and adherence to our fundraising standards are maintained.
• To ensure good communication with F2F agencies, internal team members and the public by making sure that external communication channels are kept up to date.
• To be the primary point of contact for all supporter enquiries and complaints related to face to face fundraising.
• Managing and inspiring members and volunteers to support fundraising activities.
• To be proactive in keeping up to date with industry trends and changes.

Work Location/Hybrid Working Pattern

This role will be based at our Head Office in central London. Mothers’ Union operates a hybrid working model. Staff are required to work an aggregate minimum of 90 days per calendar year (pro rata for part timers) at our Head Office, Mary Sumner House in central London. Tuesdays are our anchor days where every staff member is expected to be at the office. The 90 days includes anchor Tuesdays. In addition, Thursday is a core working day where part time staff are expected to work, either at home or from the office as needed.

About the project 

The proposed service Kineara aims to provide is a Community-Based Housing Advice and Support Service for lone parents living in TA (Temporary Accommodation) and to provide a prevented service that advice and support lone parents living in PRS and social rented accommodation, where their tenancies is insecure.

This service will address urgent housing concerns, provide essential advice, and offer tailored, intensive support for those with complex needs. The project will focus on delivering maximum reach through our outreach while maintaining smaller 1:1 caseload for high-needs cases.

About the role 

We are looking for an experienced, motivated and compassionate community -based housing advice and support worker. This role involves conducting community drop- in surgeries which will be delivered across Lambeth Schools, Children’s Centres, Community Groups, GP practices and

Housing Advice Surgeries offering face-to-face housing advice, legal support (where necessary), and signposting to additional service.

You will have experience of working with families and individuals with complex needs. You will be an enthusiastic person who has empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental approach to working with clients and who thrives when working independently with a passion to support change. In this role, you will be working in partnership with community organisations and the council to coordinate tailored support for each client to address their housing issues. The Security Manager is the operational lead for the 24/7 security operation at Kew Gardens, ensuring that staff, visitors and collections remain safe and secure across our Gardens and historic buildings. Purpose: This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a newly created post in the role of Partnerships Engagement Coordinator for Education and Employers on the internationally recognised Inspiring the Future programme. The Charity aims to ensure that all young people have the inspiration, motivation, knowledge, skills and opportunities they need to help them achieve their potential.

This key post is part of the Partnerships Team with responsibility for supporting the team to deliver various showcase virtual and face-to-face events and activities involving a diverse range of volunteers from the world of work. Job Purpose:

Reporting to the Partnerships Manager and working closely with colleagues in the Partnerships Team, the Partnerships Engagement Coordinator is responsible for working closely with volunteers and school staff to support successful delivery of interactive activities aimed at schools and young people under key funded projects for the charity’s Inspiring the Future and Primary Futures programmes. This role will work on partnerships including but are not limited to the Department for Transport’s Inspiring Aviation Campaign, Maritime UK Ambassadors, and events associated with employer partnerships such as Bank of America, Tritax Big Box, Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust and others.

Exact brief to be finalised with the successful candidate but the role will be expected to:

• Providing administrative support across the team, including record-keeping, responding to incoming enquiries, data entry, meeting minute-taking, scheduling, event coordination, etc
• Monitoring new event registrations from schools and sending welcome emails, keeping this up to date with the latest opportunities and messaging for schools
• Supporting the engagement of employers and volunteers in special activities within funded projects.
• Tracking and reporting back to Partnership Manager and Events Lead on delivery against agreed targets
• Using Salesforce CRM to support with data management, assisting with maintaining up to date records and supporting data cleansing as needed
• Recruiting and engaging schools according to the geographic or sector focus of a funded partnership
• Setting up virtual and face-to-face activities including school liaison, securing volunteers, organising events via the Inspiring the Future system and hosting on tech platforms (Zoom, MS Teams etc)
• Facilitating interactive virtual and face to face activities to connect pupils with volunteers through themed sessions, Q&A or job guessing-game format.
• Supporting and co-hosting teacher training sessions, staff meetings and info webinars to promote Inspiring the Future and encourage engagement and independent usage of the platform.
• Supporting the development of educational resources that provide insight into the world of work and different sectors
• Support the collection of feedback and data after each event to measure impact
  • Managing the enquiries inbox and/or switchboard phone number, responding to enquiries from schools and volunteers about the charity’s work and programmes and how to sign up

• Minimum one year’s experience in a customer service, school engagement or school-based role
• Experience in successful relationship management – ability to engage confidently and sensitively with schools/colleges and at a range of levels of seniority up to and including headteacher level
• Outstanding customer service and telephone manner, including handling large volumes of email enquiries and dealing with difficult situations politely and assertively
• Strong organisational and administrative skills including close attention to detail and effective time management 
• Persuasive and confident communicator who is influential, and effective in presenting a concept both in person and on the phone.
• Good level of education, demonstrating capability in producing written content to a high standard.

It works with academics and researchers from around the world and its own research is regularly cited by government and international organisations like the OECD. The Adult Carers Team Leader reports directly to the Operations Manager and is responsible for leading and managing the Adult Carers team. 

You will provide leadership and stability to the Adult Carers staff team, by line managing, coaching and supporting employees to create a happy, productive work environment. You will work within the Adult Carers team to deliver an engaging, accessible range of peer support groups, social activities and one to one support, working to targets and budget, ensuring timely and accurate reporting to funders.

This role requires you to work collaboratively with carers and professionals to meet carers’ needs and shape the service, building and maintaining strong partnerships to do so. You will support our wider organisational objectives and help out with events, communications and other ad hoc work.

About the role

We are delighted to have received three-year funding from the Aviva Foundation to fund this brand-new Grants Officer role based in London.

You’ll be part of our Programmes team supporting kinship carers in London to access grants which will help reduce financial stress. This could be grants to buy things like white goods and uniforms or accessing Buttle grants to support children growing up in kinship care.

As Grants Officer you’ll talk to kinship carers, discuss their needs, their priorities and then write charitable grant applications on their and their family’s behalf. 

You will oversee and deliver the grants process, including co-ordinating the purchase of items (such as children’s clothes, beds or washing machines), collecting receipts for items as required by the funders and liaising with all teams to ensure timely receipt of funds within the charity and to the kinship carers.

Building relationships with funders is core, sharing the impact of the grants and insight about the lives of kinship families in London. You’ll work closely with Programmes, Peer Support, Training and Advice colleagues who work with kinship families in London.

You will also create and run online and face-to-face workshops and clinics, helping kinship carers to understand how to apply for other grants, thereby encouraging resilience and confidence to apply for grants themselves.

You will be a proactive and persuasive relationship builder, able to create partnerships with a range of organisations and peer support groups that support kinship families.

You’ll build trusting and respectful relationships with kinship carers who you will work one-to-one with in community settings. And you’ll build relationships with a range of grant giving organisations across London.

We’re looking for someone who can really deliver impact and demonstrate how embedding this role into the community helps to unlock funding and support for kinship carers at a local level.

The type of person we’re looking for

Kinship carers are at the heart of all we do. This role could be the difference between a kinship carer being able to dress their child for school properly, being able to buy a fridge, take a first holiday to the seaside… or going without.

We are looking for someone who is really organised and who is able to capture and present information clearly in a persuasive grant application. The successful applicant will be compassionate, empathetic, and organised. We are looking for someone who understands the needs of kinship families.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering our new grants service across London.
• Meeting performance targets and KPIs as directed.
• Working with kinship carers and their families across London to gather information to complete and submit grant applications.
• Administering grants we secure for our kinship carers and carry out all the necessary administration related to grants.
• Undertaking research to identify funders and build excellent relationships with local grant making charities in order to increase support for kinship families.
• Delivering grant workshops at peer support groups sharing information about locally available grants and providing advice and support on making a successful application.
• Running face-to-face grant clinics within peer support groups or community venues in London, working directly with kinship carers to write and submit requests for grants.

Essential criteria includes:

• Experience of speaking to vulnerable people on the telephone, face-to-face and online, and gathering information with empathy and understanding.
• Experience of working with socially excluded or marginalised people and their families in face-to-face and community settings.
• Experience of running online and face-to-face workshops. 
• An understanding of budgeting, managing money, income and expenditure.
• Proven understanding of the importance of confidentiality and a non-judgmental approach.
• Evidence of awareness of safeguarding issues and good practice. 
• Experience of organising and prioritising a busy workload without close supervision.
• Proven clear understanding of the need to keep grants records and communication with kinship carers and funders up to date.
• Excellent research and writing skills.
