Location: Hybrid (split between home-working and one of our offices - based in London, Cardiff or Edinburgh)

Salary on appointment: £31,760 - £34,936 per annum*

*This role sits within a pay grade with a pay range of £31,760 to £47,640. The salary on appointment will be set at the lower end of the pay range, to a maximum of 10% above the base salary, depending on the candidate's skills and experience. This approach aims to ensure fair compensation for new hires while maintaining alignment with the structured pay scale for the role.

Purpose of Role

This role takes a data-led approach to maximising the impact of our communications to raise the profile of the organisation and achieving business outcomes through strategic communication and marketing efforts.

The role holder will work alongside the wider Communications & Campaigns team to deliver agreed GB-wide communications and manage nation-specific communications as part of an integrated and coordinated programme of communications.

The role holder has an innate connection and understanding of the Welsh context and can adapt and deliver national issues to local audiences, as well as bringing our work in Wales to a national audience across multiple channels.

Key responsibilities

Communications planning

• Work closely with the Ramblers Cymru team to stay abreast of projects and local issues.
• Work with the Strategic Communications Manager to lead a structured communications planning process that ensures key audiences are receiving timely communications in line with their needs, via appropriate channels (GB-wide or nation-specific). A key part of this process will be sequencing to ensure that audiences are not overwhelmed by multiple/fragmented messages.
• Work closely with the broader communications team to develop strategically aligned messaging and campaign assets for both GB-wide and nation-specific communications activities and advocacy campaigns.

Communications Delivery

• Project manage and deliver GB-wide and nation-specific communications activities across owned, earned and (where relevant) paid channels, including managing timeframes and budgets, mobilising other teams, seeking collaboration opportunities with external partners, setting and measuring KPIs

Channel management

• Work in partnership with the Member & Supporter Experience team and the broader communications team to plan and deliver GB-wide and nation-specific member and volunteer communications.
   
• Work in partnership with the Social & Community Officer to present aligned messaging to our audiences, to drive engagement with our posts and to grow the reach of our GB-wide and nation-specific social media channels.

• Work in partnership with the Website Officer to present aligned messaging to our audiences and to maximise the impact of our website and digital marketing to grow our supporter base.

• Work in partnership with the PR & Media Officer to maximise the reach and impact of our public relations across our target audiences in England, Scotland & Wales.

Content Development

• Work in collaboration with the wider Communications & Campaigns team to source and produce communications materials and assets (photos, stories, videos, graphics etc) that can be used on GB-wide and nation-specific channels to help build the Ramblers brand and relevance to our target audiences
   

Data analysis and reporting:

• Monitor and analyse communications performance using key metrics and data insights.
• Prepare detailed reports and recommendations to inform future campaigns and strategies.
   

Innovation and improvement:

• Apply data insights to shape and improve channel strategy and tactics, using a test-and-learn approach.
• Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to continuously enhance campaign effectiveness.
• Implement feedback and lessons learned to refine and improve campaign strategies.

Other

• Undertake such other duties as may be required of the post.
• Engage and proactively develop excellent working relationships across the organisation.

The Person 

Knowledge and Experience

• Ability to develop and implement effective communications activities aligned with organisational goals.

• Proficient in the Welsh language. As a minimum be able to review copy provided by a translator. Ideally able to write Welsh copy from scratch and conduct media interviews in Welsh.

• Proven experience in managing and executing successful paid and no cost/low-cost communications campaigns, preferably within a non-profit or advocacy/campaigning organization.

• Multi-channel communications and marketing experience including PR, social media and digital

• Experience of writing for different audiences ensuring key messages are delivered in the brand tone of voice

• Strong skills in creating engaging content across various media platforms.

• Proficiency in analysing campaign performance data and deriving actionable insights.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement and public relations.

• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external partners.

• Strong organisational skills with experience in managing multiple projects and deadlines.

Job Title: Experienced Associate Independent Investigating Officers (IOs) for Stage 2 Complaints (This role sits within our Independent Person for Complaints (IPC) service)

Contract: Associate

Hours: Variable, according to demand for services/caseload and role in investigation

Location: Associate Independent Investigating Officers for Complaints primarily work from home. About the Role

We are seeking additional experienced Associate Independent Investigating Officers (IO) for Complaints, to increase our capacity to respond to referrals from Local Authorities to provide an independent element to the formal Stage 2 investigations under the Children Act 1989.

The IO will lead investigations, and will give the complainant (who may be a child, young person or adult) the opportunity to express their view, ensure the child or young person’s rights and best interests are at the centre of the investigation and that the investigation/review process is open and transparent. They write a report on the investigation/review, which is submitted to the referring agency.

The Job Description document sets out the expectations for an Associate Independent Person for Complaints (IPC) who is approved by Coram Voice. IPCs are independent, freelance and responsible for their own work. Nevertheless, IPCs are accountable to the organisation for their professional standards and are expected to comply with Coram Voice Code of Ethics and Practice Guidelines.

ABOUT GLAN

The Global Legal Action Network (GLAN) works with affected communities to pursue innovative legal actions across borders to challenge states and other powerful actors involved in human rights violations and systemic injustice. Our actions address the most pressing instances of human rights concern and they fall within the following themes: War and occupation; accountability and supply chains; environmental and economic justice; and migration and border violence.

Since our establishment in 2016, we have developed legal strategies directly addressing human rights impacts in over 23 countries and territories. Our cases include the successful legal challenge against imports of cotton produced with forced labour in Xinjiang (East Turkistan) into the UK on behalf of World Uyghur Congress and the climate case against 32 European States before the Grand Chamber of the European Court of Human Rights, brought on behalf of six Portuguese youth-applicants.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Head of Strategic Communications at GLAN, you will spearhead the development and execution of a comprehensive communications strategy that amplifies GLAN's mission and impact on a global scale.

You will lead the strategic planning, implementation, and evaluation of all communications efforts to enhance the organisation's brand, increase public awareness, and support advocacy and fundraising initiatives.

A key part of your role will be to establish GLAN's voice and brand, ensuring it resonates with diverse audiences. You will lead on improving our website and communications style, producing high quality content and ensuring consistent and compelling messaging across all platforms.

By fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders, including the media, partners, and the affected communities we support you will play a crucial role in advancing GLAN's vision to challenge injustice through innovative legal strategies. 

Reporting directly to the CEO you will form part of the Senior Leadership Team to drive organisational growth & development; looking beyond your immediate communications responsibilities.

This is an exciting time to join GLAN. We are seeking a Head of Strategic Communications to build an ambitious communications strategy focused on some of the biggest human rights and climate change issues of our time. At this point in time, the team is small with some budget to work with external freelancers, consultants or agencies. We are looking for someone to grow with GLAN; joining us with a communications team of two and developing your team in the years to come. KEY RESPONSIBITIES

Communications Strategy

• Align cross-media communication strategies with thematic goals to maximise success across all initiatives. Develop campaign & advocacy communications which will influence change.
• Collaborate with project delivery teams across GLAN to ensure a consistent calendar of communications, highlighting all key areas of work.
• Lead and mentor a high-performing communications and advocacy team, currently including a Campaigns Coordinator.

• Serve as a key member of the senior management team, contributing to strategic decision-making and organisational planning.

Summary

The role of Chaplaincy Specialist is key to the spiritual growth of children and young people in the Growing Faith intersections of households, school and church. We are seeking an experienced and dynamic team player to support, connect, encourage, inform and develop chaplains and chaplaincy in schools and colleges and to be an advocate for educational chaplaincy across the church and education system in the Church of England. We will be particularly interested in someone who is able to continue working as a school or college chaplain alongside this role. Please note this role is focused on educational chaplaincy at primary, secondary, and further education levels, not on other forms of chaplaincy.

About the Growing Faith Foundation

The Growing Faith Foundation (GFF) started on 1 February 2022, building on the previous two years of Growing Faith work in dioceses. The Foundation is central to the Church's overall aim in its emerging Vision and Strategy to be 'Younger and More Diverse', such that we double the number of children and young people who are active disciples in the Church of England by 2030.

About you

Ataxia UK is looking for a skilled and dedicated Specialist Ataxia Nurse for our new community-based nursing service, focused on supporting individuals with ataxia in the South West of England. The role is a significant development in expanding access to expert and joined-up ataxia care for the ataxia community, particularly in regions currently underserved by neurologists with expertise in the ataxias. 

As a Specialist Ataxia Nurse, you will provide personalised, face-to-face, and remote support to patients, assisting them in navigating the NHS and social care systems. Your responsibilities will include supporting patients during medical appointments, coordinating essential therapies such as physiotherapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy, and building strong relationships with healthcare professionals to enhance understanding and treatment of ataxia. Additionally, you will contribute to the development of resources and information for the ataxia community. 

We are looking for an experienced nurse with a background in neurology or chronic disease management and a strong commitment to patient advocacy. The ideal candidate will be a clear communicator, capable of working independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams. Your role will be vital in ensuring that individuals with ataxia receive timely and appropriate care, helping them to manage their condition and maintain their quality of life.

• Identify and qualify a pipeline for up to 6-figure gifts for both unrestricted and restricted giving

This role will play a key role in delivering our ambitious policy influencing programme, helping to develop and advocate for the policy changes needed to reduce, prevent and eventually end the need for food banks in the UK. It will focus on developing Trussell policy positions in either employment support (especially for people with barriers to work) or disability and sickness benefits. The role will also lead the development and implementation of influencing plans in that policy area.

Role responsibilities

·Lead the development of policy solutions and positions

Leading the development of credible policy positions and implementable recommendations in the specified policy area - either in relation to employment support and conditionality, particularly for groups facing significant barriers to work including disabled people and single parents; or in relation to the disability benefit system, particularly Personal Independence Payments and the Work Capability Assessment.

Working with the Policy and Public Affairs, Network Operations and Participation teams to ensure our policy influencing has a robust evidence base.

Where appropriate, developing policy in collaboration with food banks in Trussell’s network and lived experience partners. Building on success of existing participatory work to ensure it is rooted in the lived experience of individuals affected by poverty. This includes ensuring an ethical approach to policy development in line with our values.

Working effectively with other expert partners to strengthen policy development and build alliances to support influencing, including project management and oversight of joint policy development and positions.

·Planning and delivering impactful policy activity

Leading the development of an influencing strategy for the policy area aligned to a theory of change. Ensuring policy outputs are timely, high-quality and support engagement with key audiences, including national and local governments across the UK. Co-ordinating responses to reactive work in areas, including policy consultations, activity in Parliament, in the media or in response to network requests.

·Developing policy narratives and key messages

Co-ordinating the development of the narrative and key messaging in the areas, maintaining a key message bank, with tailored lines for target audiences as needed.

·Representing Trussell and promoting the organisation’s policy positions to external stakeholders

Working proactively with Research, Public Engagement and Network Operations teams to identify opportunities to promote the organisation’s policy positions and recommendations to key audiences. This could include presenting at policy and campaign events, workshops with food banks and media interviews.

·Building and managing strong relationships with key external stakeholders

Developing relationships, partnerships and networks to help raise the profile, credibility and influence of the Trussell Trust and our policy positions in the specified policy area, including with relevant policy makers, politicians, civil servants, sector partners and church-related organisations working in key policy areas.

Technical skills and minimum knowledge:

Purpose of Role

• To understand Ramblers’ audience behaviours by analysing customer data
• To design and implement data solutions to drive revenue growth, supporter engagement, membership acquisition, retention and lifetime value from new and existing audiences
• To deliver secure, easily interpreted, and accessible information to staff members and volunteers about the Ramblers members, supporters, groups, walks and accounts.

Key responsibilities

• Drive the organisation to use data in its operations, using first party and third-party data sources to facilitate more informed and reliable decision making.
• Working in collaboration with teams across the organisation (particularly Income and Marketing) to develop and implement data driven approaches to income generation with a particular focus on quantitative modelling and testing.
• Working with internal Digital and IT teams, ensure information flows between systems (Salesforce, the Data Warehouse, Marketing Cloud etc) in an accurate and timely manner, to ensure our supporters receive the best possible service and we have a full view of their activities when planning our own.
• Ensure our data insights platform provides volunteers with understandable and easy to use information for all aspects of administering their Area(s)/Group(s).

We are hiring! We have a job vacancy for an Early Intervention Project Worker to join Shine.

Shine has a membership of over 14,000 members living with Spina Bifida and/or Hydrocephalus and associated conditions and over 6,500 associated members.

Our Little Stars project for 0–12-year-olds has been established for over 5 years supporting younger members and their families with their diagnosis and beyond. We also have a growing Teen membership known as FIRE (Friendship, Independence, Resilience, Equality) Working alongside our multi skilled, established team, you will be supporting members across all age groups and building on the great foundations already in place. 

We are looking for an Early Intervention Project Worker who can cover the South of England, primarily you will be home based, supporting members through phone calls and using online platforms.  You will be required to attend clinics, events and meet members one to one where necessary within your allocated area and occasionally across wider areas and nationally. 

Purpose of the role 

• To deliver Shine's Little Stars (funded by The National Lottery Community Fund) project for 0–12-year-olds, supporting early years and younger members with their families, their diagnosis and beyond across the Southern Region. To provide advice, support and guidance to enable people with Spina Bifida and/or Hydrocephalus to access the correct benefits to become financially stable, the right services to improve their health and well-being, and to better co-ordinate their support and independence through a variety of methods. 

• To improve the life wellbeing of children 0-12 years old with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus by promoting independence and providing them and their families with early intervention support. 

• To create a community whereby those affected by spina bifida and hydrocephalus can connect with others, are empowered through knowledge and feel confident in the support networks surrounding them.

About this key role

As our Financial Wellbeing Coach, you will provide person-centred support to a caseload of service users who will either be serving community sentences or have been released from prison.  This will involve undertaking assessment and action planning with individual service users and creating a safe and trusting environment, using trauma-informed practice to successfully facilitate a supportive and constructive relationship with service users. 

We will also count on you to deliver a range of interventions to service users which contribute towards the achievement of prescribed outcomes, including group work sessions, and to work with service users flexibly, meeting and undertaking interventions in a range of locations across a wide geographical area.  Developing and maintaining positive working relationships with external agencies and working towards contractual targets and outcomes within agreed timescales and in line with specified quality standards are also vital aspects of the role.

What we are looking for

• Experience of engaging successfully with challenging people, e.g., those with complex and multiple needs

• Proven record of working with partner agencies

• Evidence of training at specialist level in money and/or welfare benefits advice 

• Higher level certificate in money and/or welfare benefit advice from accreditation 

• The ability to assess clients’ needs and provide tailored, client-led support 

• Able to work sensitively with clients applying trauma informed strategies

• Welsh Language and a full driver’s licence and access to a vehicle is desirable.

We are recruiting our new Associate Director, Engagement (Major Gifts), to help shape the future of Thunderbird and ASU in the UK and Europe.  As a member of a small but mighty team in the UK, you will work remotely with teams of skilled and dynamic colleagues based predominantly in Phoenix, Arizona, as well as others around the world.

As the Associate Director, Engagement, you’ll have the opportunity to engage with the unique, vibrant global community that is Thunderbird and ASU. You will be fundraising for dynamic priorities such as scholarships, collaborative and impactful programmes, centers, professorships, and more.

Are you a health or social care professional based in the West Midlands and experienced in supporting dementia carers? Would you like to support the work of a dynamic charity that is growing the reach of its services? If so, we’d love to hear from you. 

We are looking for associates who can support us to deliver a range of activities including the delivery of community-based carer training, one-to-one telephone consultations with carers, dementia awareness training for organisations, and the facilitation of online carer support groups. 

We are a remote based specialist team which includes a clinical psychologist, dementia nurse specialist, social worker, and benefits advisor. 

You may be in part-time employment, recently retired, or just looking for a more flexible approach to work, whatever the motivation, we are confident you will enjoy being part of our friendly team.
