There are various roles available including both Full time, Part time and Relief Work, which gives you more flexibility of the days and times you work so is perfect to fit in around other commitments you may have.

The current roles we have with anticipated start dates in October/November 2024 are:

• Service Manager – £35,137.71 per annum (£36,358.34 is achieved after 18 months successful performance in the role)
• Retirement Living Coordinator – £25,965.21 (£27,112.48 is achieved after 18 months successful performance in the role)
• Income Admin Officer – £25,965.21 (£27,112.48 is achieved after 18 months successful performance in the role)
• Senior Care Officer – £29,635,83 (£30.551.56 is achieved after 18 months successful performance in the role)

The current roles we have with anticipated start dates in December 2024 are:

• Night Care Assistants – £24,627 per annum (pro rata for part time) +10% night shift allowance
• Care Assistants – £24,627 per annum (pro rata for part time)

What the job involves

We're looking for a Proposition Development Manager to join a newly created team within our Fundraising directorate. The team have been created to work alongside the high value teams (Philanthropy and Partnerships) to provide them with the highest quality donor research, funding propositions and stewardship materials required to create transformative partnerships with businesses, high net worth individuals, trusts and foundations. 

As the Proposition Development Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in this team, supporting our ambitious high value fundraising strategy and the development of Prostate Cancer UK’s first Major Appeal. You'll take the lead in developing the Appeal case for support, and crafting funding propositions. Collaborating closely with our high-value fundraisers, you'll develop bespoke funding propositions ranging from six to seven figures, ensuring they resonate with potential donors. 

Your expertise will be central in guiding our high-value teams on creating impactful funding proposals, supported by consistent access to organisational priorities and plans. You'll also establish an 'Information Bank' of materials to support fundraising efforts. Ensuring compliance with data protection regulations, you'll maintain the integrity of our data records in alignment with GDPR and organisational policies.

What we want from you

We’re looking for a fundraiser who understands high value fundraising. You’ll have experience in building compelling cases for support, bids and partnership concepts with major donors, companies, and potentially grant funders. Working in collaboration with our high value fundraisers, Research and Support and Influencing teams to create engaging and bespoke propositions. 

You’ll be an excellent communicator, often translating complex and technical information to a range of audiences and stakeholders in multiple formats (e.g. proposals, presentations or web copy). Your exceptional relationship-building, influencing, and negotiation skills will enable you to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

This is a rewarding role where you'll be supporting initiatives to deliver growth in high value fundraising, Philanthropy and Partnerships teams and assist in the development of long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with donors and partners.

Job Description 

The Finance Manager is responsible for the management and technical support of the Finance function and acts as advisor to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and assists in the development of the organisation’s financial strategy, modelling new projects, preparing budgets and reporting on financial performance. 

You will also be responsible for maintaining accounts on Xero and all related bookkeeping tasks.

Main duties and responsibilities

• Responsibility for bookkeeping on the organisation’s accounting system (Xero);

• Preparation of accurate and timely monthly management accounts for the organisation and individual cost centres, including variance analysis and reports for the Board. This information should include a short narrative on the current position, future prospects, and financial risks and opportunities. The reports will be tailored as necessary for the Board and management; 

• Provide robust financial information including accurate balance sheets and a rolling cash flow forecast; 

• Act as key point of contact for project budget holders on financial matters;

• Carry out regular reviews of spending under various grants, alerting budget holders and CEO to any actual or potential over or underspend;

• Work with CEO and managers on fundraising bids and financial reports for funders;

• Produce statutory accounts, files and schedules, in partnership with the3million’s accounting firm; 

• Monitor records of all funding and funding sources and the appropriate allocation of incoming funding;

• Monitor monthly accrual of income and expenditure, deferral of income, maintenance of reconciliation to Xero, balance sheet changes and undertake bank reconciliations;

• Monitor the accounts mailbox and ensure invoices are included in the accounting system, answering internal and external queries as they arise;

• Act as main point of contact with banks, service providers, suppliers (when appropriate) and auditors;

• Other duties as requested by the CEO.

Person Specification

The post requires the holder to:

• Have an appropriate accounting qualification – in full or part (AAT, ICAEW, CIMA or ACCA);

• Have a minimum of three years of professional experience, including experience of operating within a not-for-profit organisation (managing accounts for restricted and unrestricted funds);

• Be proficient in Xero Online accounting software and Excel spreadsheets, including experience in using Power Query;

• Be comfortable with the financial systems typical of a small organisation, including financial monitoring and reporting to a range of different funding sources;

• Have some experience of projects finances and understand the financial implications behind an efficient delivery strategy;

• Be honest and reliable;

• Ability to work on own initiative when appropriate and seek guidance when necessary;

Strides is looking for a reliable and experienced Residential Assistant to join our team. 

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in the supervision of residents in accordance with policy and practice under the direction and guidance of managers and relevant staff where necessary. Deal with routine issues raised by residents on a day-to-day basis.
• Staff and supervise the Approved Premises during designated shifts, referring serious incidents to designated on-call Manager and adhere to the procedure of completing incident reports as necessary.
• Ensure enforcement of Approved Premises rules and deal with any breaches in accordance with procedures. Respond appropriately to abusive or aggressive behaviour.
• Demonstrate pro-social modelling skills by consistently reinforcing pro-social behaviour and attitudes and challenging anti-social behaviour and attitudes
• Liaise with Key Workers, Deputy Manager and Manager as appropriate to share issues concerning residents.
• Process information and maintain records including inputting information on the database system by recording any significant occurrences relating to residents during shift.
• Contribute to the work with substance misusers in accordance with relevant policies, practices and protocols e.g. dispensing/recording medication, drug/alcohol testing if requested by the management team
• Answering the telephone and door and deal with any callers to the Approved Premises including monitoring the work of contractors’ accordance with procedures.

We’re proud to have recently been given funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund to complete the next phase of our ‘Reuniting Sydenham Hill Wood & Dulwich Wood’ project. 

The project will focus on 27.4 hectares of ancient woodland habitat in the largest remining tract of the Great North Wood in South London. This natural heritage is a vital resource for the local community – the Woods saw an unprecedented 81% increase in footfall during the height of the pandemic, with visitor numbers increasing from 189,645 in 2019 to 343,385 in 2020. Only fragments of the ancient Great North Wood landscape remain; this project will help to ensure the long-term protection of the largest area of remaining Woodland. 

As Project Manager, you can expect to:

• Oversee all work, ensuring that all project work is completed on time and to budget as described in the delivery phase, holding quarterly meetings to ensure we’re on track
• liaise and further develop relationships with relevant partners and funders
• oversee procurement and management of contractors in the capital works programme for the Woods, this includes the installation footpaths, conservation fencing, boundary railings, and improved entranceways
• oversee and coordinate the Woodland Activity programme which will be delivered by the Senior Officer - Sydenham Hill Wood & Dulwich Wood & the Learning & Engagement Officer along with volunteers

Stoll is the lead provider of housing and support services in the Veterans sector.  Founded in 1916, Stoll has provided a sanctuary to help Veterans rebuild their lives for over 100 years. We are currenty undertaking a major transformation programme across all of our operations, including, but not limited to, resource identification across our services, reviewing software use, realigning workflows across our infrastructure, whilst upgrading systems and improving processes. Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join SJA’s Bid Team, managing and producing tender responses across a variety of business areas including Commercial Training, First Aid and Health & Safety Supplies, Events, Urgent & Emergency Care, and other services. The role of the Bid Manager is to support the organisation in achieving revenue targets, business growth and strategic objectives through managing the Bid process and ensuring completion of high-quality tenders within the stipulated timeframes. You will maintain and develop a bid library, tender pipeline and supporting processes, sharing best practice and learnings from bids which are won and lost whilst also analysing trends from tenders and recommending improvements or change to optimise the number of bids for which we can tender.

A team player with excellent communications and writing skills you will also possess the ability to prioritise, plan and coordinate projects accurately and assess financial risk as an essential part of this role.

About the Role 

Manage the Bid Management process, ensuring all bid documents meet deadlines and have undergone appropriate levels of scrutiny. Chairing and organising bid kick off meetings with internal stakeholders. You will need to feed the information into the Bid Writer in a timely and organised fashion and ensure all bids are of consistent high quality to meet the customer or commissioner’s expectations.

• You will also, where required, need to lead on writing, creating and preparing expressions of interest, prequalification questionnaires, ITT responses and standalone proposals and presentations working closely with operational/technical specialists within the organisation & ambulance operation to ensure excellence in quality, accuracy and presentation
• Lead on the creation and support bid presentations; including the preparation through to participation of delivery to key decision makers
• Maintain the Bid library working with functions and the operation to collate relevant, up to date supporting information for proposals, ensuring its accuracy and accessibility
• Complete the bid/no bid tool and agree with relevant key stakeholders to ensure any tenders are aligned with both the relevant departments strategy, operational capability e.g. skills, vehicles and capacity

About the role

We’re looking for a self-motivated and driven public health, inclusion and awareness manager. This is an exciting time to join Breast Cancer Now and the public health, inclusion and awareness team as we continue to grow as a charity and our work across the UK. Your role will continue to help drive forward our team’s work, which is to empower patients and the public to play a full role in managing their own risk of getting breast cancer, diagnosing breast cancer earlier and improving their quality of life after a breast cancer diagnosis and treatment. You will bring your management experience of providing services to women experiencing Domestic Violence and Abuse including VAWG. With a significant experience of managing, developing and leading teams across a geographically dispersed region and remotely, including harnessing the strengths and potential of staff at all levels, building a strong team culture and maintaining staff motivation, particularly through periods of change. You will have substantial delivery of collaborative working with external agencies, stakeholders, subcontracted partners and extensive management of frontline workers
