Established in 2019, Declassified UK is a small, growing media organisation that has quickly become known for ground-breaking, critical journalism challenging the British establishment on UK foreign policy issues.

The UK’s traditional media is increasingly acting as part of the establishment, failing to report independently on Britain’s policies around the world. By contrast, Declassified is independent and beholden to no-one, relying on the public and trusts & foundations for our finances, and drawing on a distinguished board and group of advisers.

We are seeking to appoint a new Director to succeed our co-founder Mark Curtis who will consolidate our reputation and take the organisation to its next level.

We will continue producing high quality written and visual journalism and seek to increase our political impact and reach bigger audiences, within the budgetary and capacity constraints that we have.

This is a unique, exciting opportunity for a person who is an excellent people manager and team player, who is skilled at organisational development and who can give strong support to our expert staff and our communications, fundraising and editorial needs.

The successful candidate must have considerable experience of working in the media, campaigns and/or not for profit sectors and be dedicated to our principles and mission.

KEY WORK AREAS
Organisational oversight
● ensure all aspects of the organisation’s work - including communications, fundraising, social media and editorial - function optimally, within the budgetary and capacity constraints.
● monitor progress towards strategic goals, plans and budgets.

Organisational development and innovation
● lead the organisation’s drive to best promote its mission and principles.
● work with the head of communications to increase our outreach to new audiences and our political impact, through new digital marketing nd public fundraising approaches.

Team Management
● inspire and lead an effective, motivated remote team, with a common sense of purpose, clear goals and division of responsibility, transparency, accountability, and effective internal coordination and communication.
● promote new recruitment when finances and strategy allow.
● ensure the organisation promotes optimal working practices and personnel policies.
● conduct regular one-to-ones with staff to provide support and ensure success.

Finances
● oversee the organisation’s finances, ensuring Declassified deploys its resources optimally, maintains an adequate cash flow, expands its revenue, and ensures its financial sustainability.
● after a transition, to be agreed in discussions, the Director may assume direct responsibility for administrating our finances, including paying staff and suppliers, doing quarterly and yearly accounts, recording invoices, and liaising with our accountants. This is presently done by other staff.

Fundraising
● work with relevant staff to drive trusts & foundations and public fundraising, helping to innovate our approaches towards existing and new public audiences.
● after a transition, to be agreed in discussions, the Director may assume direct responsibility for managing existing trusts & foundations  and large personal funders, producing grant and budget reports and proposals, and seeking out new funders. This is presently done by other staff.

Communications
● work with relevant staff to maximise Declassified’s profile, for example by ensuring the optimisation of our website, newsletters and  communications with supporters and non-supporters.
● work with relevant staff to produce our annual reports.
● field email queries from the public and external organisations.

Board and Advisers
● work with the Board to ensure Declassified’s governance structure best promotes its mission and principles.
● communicate clearly to the Board, delivering regular financial and strategy updates as per regular arranged meetings.
● maximise the contributions of Declassified’s Advisers to promote the organisation's mission.

Representation
● represent Declassified in external meetings and events, acting as an ambassador for the organisation’s mission and principles.
● promote Declassified to other like-minded organisations and individuals, developing contacts or partnerships such as with campaign groups, other journalists and MPs.

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES
Candidates should have several years experience working in media, campaigns or not-for profit organisations or similar, in several of the following areas:

● people management, including knowledge of human resources issues
● promoting organisational development and innovation
● working as a senior journalist or other media professional
● digital marketing, communications and use of social media

● working on UK foreign policy issues
● media and libel law

REPORTING LINES
● the Director is accountable to the Board

WORKING CONDITIONS
● All Declassified staff work from their home offices, with the opportunity of using a communal office in London subject to availability.
● We operate a four day working week, from Monday-Thursday.
● Salary of £65,000.
● We operate a pension scheme and flexible and generous terms and conditions for holiday allowance, compassionate leave, paternity/maternity leave etc, otherwise standard terms and conditions for work contracts, including a three months probationary period.

We are looking for a Marketing Coordinator to coordinate the marketing activity of the Students’ Union throughout the year, taking the lead on campaigns and projects such as Varsity, the Leadership Race, Sustainability Conference, International Festival and End of Year Awards, working with 10+ departments across the Union. We are seeking a highly motivated and self-driven individual to join our Fundraising Team as the Community and Events Fundraiser. You will lead, plan, cost and deliver an exciting and varied community fundraising programme to grow income and a strong return on investment. You will need to work closely with the Director of Fundraising to shape the plans and resources required for the future.

The post holder will require a good knowledge of fundraising and considerable energy and enthusiasm that will inspire patients, visitors, hospital staff and the local community to choose Southampton Hospitals Charity as their preferred charity.

Main Responsibilities

Hospital engagement and Community Relationships

• To create and increase awareness of fundraising for Southampton Hospitals Charity across all University Hospital Southampton sites working closely with the Marketing and Communications team
• To foster effective and productive relationships with key stakeholders including consultants, doctors, nurses, care group managers etc
• To ensure visibility of fundraising materials including poster sites and leaflet holders in the hospitals, community etc and ensure they are kept up to date and relevant
• To create a Fundraising Hub out of Unit 2 by driving supporters and stakeholders to the office to build a real sense of community spirit and a hive of fundraising activity
• To be proactive in seeking out new fundraising opportunities, relationships, and networks.
• To develop, support the delivery of and evaluate a strategic supporter journey and stewardship journey across the community fundraising programme focused on generating net return and supporter retention. 
• To lead on researching and developing trust and charity networks to acquire new supporters in the communities served by the Trust based on audience insight and analysis
• To build and maintain relationships with supporters through face to face, telephone, email, and written correspondence with the aim of securing financial and “in kind” support.
• To have an insight led approach to our activities, regularly analysing data and gathering supporter feedback.
• To Develop a comprehensive pipeline of fundraising opportunities such as adopted charity of the year for regional shows and events, mayors and golf captains.

Person Specification:

Knowledge and experience

• Experience of increasing income through successful community, events, corporate or volunteer fundraising programmes or equivalent transferable experience from another sector
• Experience of successful project management including planning and delivering projects within budgets and on time to meet departmental, team and personal objectives and KPIs
• A proven track record of delivering an excellent customer/supporter stewardship experience
• Experience of managing multiple projects and budgets
• Demonstrable experience in using data insight and analysis to inform decision making
• Excellent IT skills including using Excel, Word, Outlook and Power Point as well as experience of administering and maintaining dedicated supporter CMS databases

Service Manager Dynamic Framework

We have an exciting opportunity to lead our busy accommodation advice team to provide advice and assistance to males aged 18+ coming to the end of their prison sentence or in the community on licence with probation.

You will be liaising with probation teams, prisons, local housing authorities and landlords to support our clients to navigate housing processes in order to address their housing issues. You will be attending regular strategic meetings within Leicester and Leicestershire and reporting on progress during quarterly contract monitoring meetings.

Job Purpose

This role is an exciting opportunity to join, manage and support our Peer Support service which offers Peer Support group sessions in Central Bedfordshire, Bedford and Milton Keynes. This is a varied role where the post holder will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operations of the service and for the line management of Peer Support Coordinator, Peer Mentor Facilitator, Peer Support Workers and volunteers across BLMK.

The role will also involve the assessment and processing of new referrals and leading and supporting on more complex cases that may require intervention for suitability. The success candidate will work with the Lived Experience Operational Services Manager to ensure that the Peer Support service consistently provides quality support for service users and is managed effectively in line with KPI’s.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate a Peer Support service including peer support groups and mentoring across localities in Central Bedfordshire, Bedford Borough and Milton Keynes and ensure outcomes which supports individuals with mental health and wellbeing needs in line with Mind BLMK’s agreed Peer Support model and requirements as well as contract requirements.
• Carry out assessments on individuals’ suitability for Mind BLMK’s Peer Support service in line with the Access to Service procedure.
• Work with the Lived Experience Operational Services Manager to ensure regular involvement of service users, volunteers and staff on local service delivery, organisational matters and wider mental health strategies.
• Provide cover and support for Peer Support groups and mentor facilitator in line with service needs.
• Spend time regularly in each location, ensuring best practice is in place across all aspects of the service, from assessment & delivery to data input & reporting.
• Work with the Lived Experience Operational Services Manager to support a team who bring their Lived Experience of mental health to their roles, keeping an up to date understanding of working with and managing those with Lived Experience.
• Maintain an effective workforce for the service in line with Mind BLMK’s HR policies, procedures and guidance (recruitment, line management, workload planning, support and development of Peer Support Coordinator, Workers, Mentor Facilitator and volunteers).

The Role
Develop, manage and review processes and procedures for all fundraising income and data across on and offline platform.

Manage the Supporter Data teams expenditure budget and work with the HODAR to contribute to annual budgeting and regular reforecasting.

Be responsible for management and development of the Hospices supporter CRM, including regular review of the teams CRM needs.

Line manage, develop and provide professional support and guidance to the two Supporter Data Officers.

The Candidate
Experience of CRM database management and developing and maintaining database processes and procedures.

Experience of working with data for marketing purposes, including effective and compliant handling of communication preferences.

Experience of managing income processing and reconciliation.

Experience of undertaking data analysis and presenting this in appropriate formats to inform business decisions.

We are recruiting four Therapeutic Practitioners to deliver For Baby’s Sake in a new Regional Team in the North East of England. The post will be home based with some elements of hybrid working. Applicants need to be located in the North East of England and be able to travel across the region to deliver a hybrid of online and face-to-face sessions.

For Baby’s Sake is an innovative, therapeutic, trauma-informed programme. We work with both co-parents individually, supporting a recovery framework to overcome the devastating effects of domestic abuse in their relationship. We acknowledge and explore unresolved and often complex childhood trauma and change harmful patterns of behaviour to develop a home environment where children can flourish. We adopt an attachment-focussed parenting approach that enhances the opportunity for children to feel safe and secure, with parents who are emotionally available and attuned to all their needs.

There must be a current pregnancy to harness change motivations, a desire on behalf of both parents to co-parent their unborn baby (although they do not have to be in a relationship) and we can work with the families up until the baby reaches the age of two. The significance of this two-year timescale is evidenced in all recent child development research.

You will have the opportunity to support the continued evolution of For Baby’s Sake whilst ensuring fidelity to the programme and sustaining the ethos and values of the For Baby’s Sake Trust.

The For Baby’s Sake multi-disciplinary team consists of highly trained, therapeutic practitioners capable of establishing and maintaining meaningful, trusting relationships that consistently guarantee engagement and crucially provide the framework for the deeper, therapeutic exploration that allows co-parents to understand the impact of their own parenting experiences. To be part of this exceptional team you must have demonstrable therapeutic skills, sound knowledge and experience of safeguarding children and adults, infant mental health, and a thorough understanding of the dynamics of domestic abuse, attachment, and the impact of unresolved trauma.
