As an important member of the Executive team, you’ll create an environment of financial rigour and resilience, ensuring we adhere to all relevant legislation and regulations, and identifying the right investment profile to achieve our new 2025 strategy.
Responsible for c. £5m income and £4.4m expenditure, you’ll lead high-quality financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and reporting processes which support the delivery of our organisational strategy. This will include preparing management and annual accounts for both the charity and NCVO Trading Ltd. You’ll also be our first port of call for all legal, regulatory and compliance matters, including governance, audit and risk. You’ll manage our dedicated and expert finance, compliance and facilities teams, and will seek creative ways to maximise the return on our commercial activities, including lettings, conferences, training and events.
Candidates will bring impressive experience of leading a strategic finance function, along with extensive expertise in governance, compliance, audit and risk. Moreover, we’re looking for someone who understands the importance of personal leadership, influence, communication and engagement for change. Job Purpose
We are at a critical point in the development of our organisation as we build a new strategy and start a period of transformation. This executive director role will lead this change by creating the right environment to drive strategic, technological and cultural transformation at NCVO, so we deliver innovative services and long-term systemic positive impact to our members and the wider voluntary sector over the next decade.
Dimensions
This role will join the executive team, reporting to the CEO and the board of trustees. They will create a new directorate – the transformation unit – which will deliver key strategic projects that have a demonstrable impact on the organisational culture, growth and capabilities. This will include significant investment, and they will be responsible for a large budget. The strategic decisions they recommend, will impact our resilience and sustainability as an organisation, as well as ensuring we service our membership of over 17,000 organisations. Acorns Children’s Hospice provides specialist care and support for babies, children and young people who are life limited or life threatened. When time is short, every moment is precious. Acorns helps children and families fill the time they have together with love, fun and laughter to create lasting memories.
Palliative care for children aged 0-18 is delivered at Acorns’ hospices in Birmingham, Worcester, and Walsall, as well as in family homes or elsewhere in the community. About the role
As a key member of Acorns’ Executive Directorate, you will play a central role in shaping the organisation’s leadership and strategy. Purpose of the post:
Ensuring the delivery of high quality financial transactional services and operational reporting across the Group combining strong financial control with a service culture approach to delivery. This post will provide leadership of our key operational services across income and expenditure. In addition, this role oversees the procurement function at LSBU.
Increasingly these services will be provided across the LSBU Group, encompassing the University (LSBU), South Bank Colleges (SBC) and South Bank Academies (SBA) and this role will support the transition to more shared financial systems, policies, processes and services over the next few years.

Role outline and purpose
This role is responsible for leading the development and implementation of our financial inclusion programmes across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, (428 food banks, running over 1300 centres), building strong partnerships and alliances to achieve our vision of a UK without the need for food banks.
Leading on the development and delivery of our programme and influencing work on a range of issues including income maximisation, welfare rights, social security, debt and financial inclusion, capturing evidence to demonstrate the need for long-term solutions to prioritise people facing destitution and deliver real change for people in crisis.
Role responsibilities
· Proactive and effective contribution to the Senior Leadership Team towards the achievement of our overall organisational strategy, with direct responsibility for leading on the second key objective of our Changing Communities theme.
· Development and delivery of an innovative income maximisation helpline across England and Wales, in collaboration with the Citizens Advice England & Wales, along with other key organisations in the anti-poverty sector, offering immediate telephone advice and support to people facing crisis through c130 FTE trained specialist advice workers.
· Development and delivery of income maximisation programmes in NI and Scotland to support people in crisis to access advice and holistic support
· Lead and develop a high-performing team of c25 in order to support every food bank to develop and execute a strategic plan in each of their communities, that seeks to improve the local referral pathways, putting advice at the front end of the journey for people in crisis, to include the delivery of a strategic grant programme of c. £15 million to embed financial inclusion initiatives.
· Ensure that all financial inclusion service provision is underpinned by sustained and meaningful participation from people with lived experience, ensuring the journey of the person in crisis is continuously improved through utilising data and sector learning on best practice for effective service delivery across channels, considering barriers, gaps and referral pathways
· Establish specialist data and insight analysis function, capturing return on investment, performance and impact of national and local services and partnerships, and providing clear and actionable insights to drive informed decision making to deliver improved experience and outcomes for people in crisis.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our organisation as Director of Fundraising leading an existing fundraising team. This is a new role as part of an ambitious plan to grow our unrestricted and semi-restricted funding to ensure our sustainability.
The role reports to the UK-based CEO and is a member of the BBC Media Action Management Team, sharing collective responsibility to deliver the organisation’s strategy and vision. As a strategic leader, you will contribute to the overall strategy for Finance and Corporate Services, offering insights and guidance. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders such as fundraising, clinical, finance and people teams to understand their IT needs and explore opportunities to enhance service delivery, fundraising, and donor engagement through technology. Your oversight of IT infrastructure will span servers, networks, cloud environments and data centers, ensuring reliable and secure operations while implementing best practices in security and data protection. You will also ensure that IT policies and procedures comply with industry standards, including GDPR, Charity Commission requirements, and data security guidelines.
To succeed in this role, you will have a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, along with extensive experience in senior IT management, with a focus on infrastructure, security, and project management. You will possess sound knowledge of IT governance, security, and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR) and have experience with cloud platforms, network infrastructure, and database management. Exceptional communication skills will be essential, enabling you to convey complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

· Oversee the Grant Manager in utilising the grant management system in salesforce, ensuring grant reporting and monitoring schedules are maintained.
· Represent the organization at conferences and events as requested.

Job requirements:
· Bachelor's Degree in a related field
· Over 10 years’ experience in generating income from individual, trust, foundations, and corporate partnerships
· Proven success in fundraising planning and implementation to secure high-level corporate and foundation giving to meet annual funding goals

· Comfort working across multiple cultures and travelling

Job Summary:
The Head of Finance and Property (HFP) will be responsible for overseeing and directing the financial activities of the charity and its trading subsidiary, and property.
