About the Role:

This new position will drive our income generation efforts through various channels and initiatives. You will develop and implement business development strategies to attract financial support from individuals, corporations, foundations, and potential donors. The role will proactively engage with donors, build relationships, and cultivate partnerships to create and maximise income generation to support our mission and programmes.

What You'll Do:

Drive development of Urban Synergy’s presence in business FTSE 250 and others, through successful inbound and outbound prospect and client engagement.

Research and identify potential funding sources, including individuals, corporations, foundations, and grant opportunities to build a meaningful opportunity pipeline.

Create comprehensive fundraising strategies aligned with Urban Synergy’s organisational goals and mission.

Create, implement and manage fundraising campaigns and initiatives to maximise income generation.

Build and maintain relationships with existing and potential donors.

Develop donor cultivation plans, including personalised communications, events, and stewardship activities.

Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective donor engagement and recognition and explore new partnership opportunities.

Work closely with the Head of Programmes and Engagement and the Partnership Manager.

Identify relevant grant opportunities and draft compelling proposals ensuring timely their submission including reports, and related documentation.

Attend networking events, conferences, and community gatherings to expand the organisation's network and establish strategic partnerships.

Track and analyse income generation activities, prepare regular reports and revenue forecasts on fundraising progress, outcomes, and ROI.

Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards in fundraising activities.

Who we are looking for:

Someone with substantial and demonstrable experience of working with corporates within FTSE 250 and the commercial sector. This includes proactively acquiring new partnerships and maximising existing relationships, including how to access the decision makers.

Have excellent presentation and negotiating skills, representing the charity in a range of settings and to a range of audiences.

Be a self-starter with strong sales and influencing skills, Able to work independently in particular in developing corporate fundraising products and tools.

Degree in Business, nonprofit management, marketing, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

Proven experience in income/revenue generation, fundraising, or new business sales, preferably within the nonprofit sector.

Strong knowledge of fundraising principles, techniques, and best practices.

Excellent communication, writing and interpersonal skills, displaying a commitment to excellence and careful attention to detail.

Target driven with an ability to think strategically and develop and implement compelling fundraising strategies.

Strong organisational and project management skills.

Proficiency in fundraising software, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Knowledge of ethical fundraising practices and compliance regulations.

We are seeking an enthusiastic self-starter with relevant technical experience to fill the role of Senior AV Technician.

Senior AV Technician
Location: Based in Kensington, London.
Salary range: £41,645 - £44,285 per annum depending on experience and qualifications.

As part of the Venue Hire team you will be leading on the AV elements of Society and Venue Hire client event delivery and assist them to project their ideas with technical expertise. You will be responsible for leading the technical team for events requiring support with Audio/Video, streaming, hybrid, lighting and recording needs.

Duties and responsibilities 

• Lead the technical production of high-profile, technically complex events and assist in the hands-on delivery of events in line with the programme requirements for the venue. 
• Ensure all technical requirements are set up and ready before each event starts.
• Select and prepare equipment for future events and meetings as required. 
• Brief and hand over of the relevant files to the freelancer team before events. 
• Provide technical support to clients and staff before events and during conferences and other event formats. 
• Operate event production equipment including audio desk, lighting desk, vision mixer and PTZ cameras and operation. 
• Demonstrate advanced proficiency in operating audio-visual equipment, including Digico SD9, vMix, Blackmagic Design Switcher and software, Shure Wireless Microphone.

Since 2018, Connect: North Korea (CNK) has grown from a small community start-up into an effective and impactful organisation with an annual income of approaching £500,000, mainly through grants from Trusts and Foundations. We now want to develop our individual giving programme to build our unrestricted income and secure our long term growth.

As our new Head of Individual Giving, you will be responsible for growing our income from our individual and corporate base to help us reach more vulnerable members of our community. You will lead on  individual fundraising relationships and initiatives, including appeals, fundraising campaigns, and all direct marketing activities and communications. You will position us in our supporters’ minds and encourage them to actively support CNK in 2025 and beyond.

Position: Head of Individual Giving 

Responsible to: CEO

Based at: Our offices in New Malden KT3 with some remote/home working.  We will be as flexible as possible to accommodate the right candidate.

Contract: Permanent. Full-time (35 hours per week) with occasional evening working required. Flexible hours/days possible whilst respecting core hours of 10am-4pm

Salary: £42,000 - £45,000 + 5% pension on qualifying earnings, health insurance and gym membership

The role

Your specific objectives will be to:

• Grow our individual supporter base (individual and corporate) by 30% in 2025 through new donor acquisition strategies

• Increasing our unrestricted income from major, mid and low level donors and corporate partners to £100,000 per annum in 2025 and beyond 

• Delivering impactful messages, responsive and successful direct marketing and digital fundraising campaigns

Supported by the CEO, your main duties and responsibilities will be:

Strategy:

• Strategise and plan our annual individual and corporate giving programme with targets and performance indicators.This will be a key focus area within our 2025/6 corporate fundraising strategy.

• Report quarterly on progress. Use online analytics, social media insights and other metrics to help us learn, improve and grow our income from low, mid,major donors and corporate supporters.

Annual Corporate and Individual Giving Programmes:

• Develop and deliver CNK corporate and individual giving fundraising programme of events, campaigns and appeals to raise £100,000 in 2025. 

• Work closely with CEO and CNK team members to craft information into compelling copy, asks, supporter updates, social media content and personalised campaign appeals. 

• Plan and deliver low and mid level individual giving campaigns to cultivate new donors, convert existing supporters from once off donations to regular givers and inspire donors to increase their current support.

• Design and deliver our annual major donor giving programme. Cultivate, communicate and inspire new major donors to join us with the aim of increasing our current major donor pool by 10%. Steward current donors, keep in touch, craft compelling asks to support their progression towards more frequent or higher-value donations.

• Report monthly to the CEO on the success of campaigns and programming, income raised, number of new supporters/followers, conversion rates, offering insight on ROI, learnings and how we will incorporate this learning to improve how we do things in future. 

Fundraising compliance:

• Save all profiles, donations, giving history, gift aid agreements, correspondence, and communications with supporters on CNK CRM database. Uphold GDPR and comply with fundraising best practice.

US Individual Giving Programme:

• Contribute towards developing a new US individual giving portfolio through prospect research and crafting compelling fundraising asks.

Staff & Volunteer Management:

• Create and manage a volunteer fundraising programme to grow individual giving through community events, social media and awareness raising. 

The role has no direct line reports at present but there may be in future, budget permitting

Essential skills and experience:

You will have at least five, ideally eight, years experience of:

• individual giving fundraising for a small charity, with a track record of developing and delivering successful individual giving campaigns that have generated 5 figure sums 

• building a supporter base - both amongst low value, but also mid level and major donors

• gathering information, case studies, data and finances, distilling and crafting high quality, well articulated compelling funding asks

• growing charity brand and positioning, thorough consistent approach, campaigns, asks,use of language and artwork

• digital marketing including social media, email marketing, and website content management

• designing tools, inputting data and keeping CRM software updated, using data analytics to report on donor journey and drive fundraising decisions

• relevant fundraising regulations and best practices, including GDPR compliance.

You:

• Can work quickly under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

• Are highly organised, able to act on own initiative, able to manage multiple projects and deadlines

• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to craft compelling asks to engage and inspire donors.

The Fundraising Manager will play a pivotal role in the growth of Resolve. Funded for five years by The National Lottery Community Fund, the Fundraising Manager is central to securing the resources necessary to provide essential Drug and Alcohol treatment services ensuring organisational sustainability.

About the role

Working closely across the small team at SIDA, this post offers an exciting opportunity to support and coordinate knowledge-exchange communities of practice across a network of actors on global sustainable development in Scotland, including members from public and private sectors, academia and civil society. The role will support our members to contribute effectively to global, sustainable development by developing learning opportunities, tools, and resources based on members’ needs, as well as on key developments across the sector.

The postholder will lead on the planning, delivery and evaluation of SIDA’s programme of learning activities for members including workshops, peer learning events, mentoring, webinars and other events on key topics of interest to the sector. The jobholder will be expected to support other events hosted by SIDA such as the annual conference when needed and to generally support the team deliver against the strategic objectives.

About LawWorks

What we do 

LawWorks is the operating name of the Solicitors Pro Bono Group. We are a charity, and our aim is to enable access to justice through supporting and developing the contribution of legal pro bono.

With support from the Law Society of England and Wales, we encourage, facilitate and celebrate pro bono across the solicitor profession and at law schools in England and Wales.

Who we work with 

We work primarily with solicitors (firms and in-house teams), and also with law schools and law students, and other legal and non-legal volunteers and organisations.

LawWorks has around 150 member organisations including some of the largest City firms and international firms with an office in London, national, regional and local firms, in-house teams, law schools and charities.

Who we are 

LawWorks is a relatively small organisation with 18 members of staff (5 full-time) and a small team of volunteers and interns.  We operate a flexible working policy, with several members of staff working hybrid, or where appropriate, from home.

We are a busy and (for our size) complex charity, with a friendly team, a positive ethos and a commitment to doing all we can to ensure LawWorks is a strong and efficient organisation and a great place to work. 

Our projects 

There are a number of key strands to our work to support and facilitate pro bono:

• we support a growing network of around 300 local independent pro bono advice clinics across England and Wales. We work with lawyers, advice agencies, charities and others to establish or develop new clinics, and provide ongoing information and support, training and resources, for clinic volunteers and coordinators; 

• our Not-for-Profits Programme facilitates the provision of free legal advice for smaller charities and not-for-profit organisations, supported by volunteer lawyers from LawWorks’ members; 

• our Secondary Specialisation Programme supports the development of more ‘in-depth’ pro bono in areas of social welfare law.  This currently includes an unpaid wages project and ‘Voices for Families’, with the charity Together for Short Lives, supporting parents and carers of children with life-limiting conditions;

• we support collaborative projects including: Pro Bono Connect: a project which facilitates barristers and solicitors working together on pro bono cases; the Domestic Abuse Response Alliance and IP Pro Bono. 

• we have launched new online tools and digital platforms including a website called ‘Free Legal Answers’ and the Pro Bono Portal UK (with Justice Connect, an Australian access to justice charity). 

In addition to encouraging and supporting pro bono delivery, we also work to address barriers to justice and to provide a ‘policy voice’ for pro bono - for example, working to address regulatory and other barriers to pro bono volunteering, and working with our members and others to influence policy on legal aid and other aspects of access to justice.

The role 

Our experience in the different regions in England and Wales has shown the valueof having staff based locally to support pro bono initiatives, develop new pro bono opportunities and to increase engagement from the local legal profession. 

This role will include helping to develop and support your own set of clinics, building on existing relationships in the Southwest or North of England.  You will work with our members and the local advice sector to support the development of new pro bono clinics to meet unmet legal needs. We take an innovative, tailored approach to the support we provide, and you will provide one-to one support for individual clinics, allowing you to identify and address need, providing help with insurance, regulatory queries, finding volunteers and access to online tools.

A small part of the role (1 day per week) will involve working closely with the part-time Engagement & Training Officer (Wales) focusing on expanding stakeholder engagement to increase the number of independent legal advice clinics in Wales and promote pro bono involvement by the legal profession. You will work to identify and engage new stakeholders, develop training sessions and support impact monitoring. This role will also work closely with the Clinic Support and Development Officer (Wales), who acts as the first point of contact for guidance and support for clinics in Wales. 

Key priorities for this role will be: 

• To provide guidance and support to independent pro bono clinics registered with the LawWorks Clinics Network in the Southwest or North of England; 

• To increase the number of individuals in Southwest or North England provided with free legal advice at clinics in the LawWorks Clinics Network by identifying opportunities for new pro bono advice clinics, supporting local stakeholders to develop new services to meet unmet legal needs in their area; 

• To support and grow pro bono volunteering and LawWorks’ membership (e.g., law firms and in-house legal teams); 

• To identify the training needs of LawWorks’ members, clinics and their volunteers in Southwest or North England, working with colleagues to arrange regional training and other events.

A background in the legal or advice sector will be an advantage, but not essential - training and support will be provided for someone from another sector who is passionate about pro bono and access to justice and willing to learn.
