The role

We are seeking a Business Assurance Manager to join our organisation, working closely with the CEO and our Senior Management team. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the organisation, including front of house, quality and governance.

The post holder will oversee timetables, reporting, system quality assurance and processes to ensure they are running smoothly and to agreed timescales.

Key Responsibilities

Person Specification:

· Exceptional knowledge of successful strategies and approaches to using digital marketing to maximise income generation and donor stewardship.

· Strong experience of generating income and engagement via digital platforms and activities, including email, web and social media channels and adhering to best practices on each.

· Advanced user of content management systems (preferably WordPress).

· Experience of using analytical tools, including Google Analytics, to evaluate performance of digital media.

· Experience of working with agencies on the development of websites and microsites.

· Strong organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail; able to effectively manage and prioritise tasks.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Good copy-writing skills and the ability to select appropriate imagery according to campaign requirements.

Our typical sites are around six to ten affordable homes, although we can also develop a small number of outright sale homes through our subsidiary ER Homes Ltd to cross subsidise the affordable homes.

To succeed in this role, you will have a proven track record in working and successfully delivering affordable housing development and preferably rural housing. You will need excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to work both collaboratively and independently. It takes a special project manager with professionalism, enthusiasm, tenacity and a great deal of pride to stay the course and deliver these small, often challenging yet ultimately rewarding community housing schemes. The right candidate will also have sufficient technical expertise, from a formal qualification or direct experience. Our Spokesperson Network constitutes a network of media savvy spokespeople, who have direct experience of social injustices. Developed collaboratively with a network of leaders with lived experience, it aims to diversify the voices we hear in the media and make it more representative of the society we live in. Sharing knowledge with other charities supporting Spokesperson Networks
You will help share what we learn through our work with other charities and learn from them too. Using peer-led sessions to share best practice, challenges and ideas for charities working to amplify the voices of people with direct experience of social injustice.

We are looking for an experienced programme manager to oversee the Democracy Classroom network. The post holder will be responsible for managing relationships with stakeholders across the youth, education and democracy sectors and lead on a series of democratic and election education initiatives to engage young people.

We support young people to use their voice by providing them with outstanding democratic education. We work with young people, teachers and politicians to help them to learn, teach and engage in politics. We are a non-partisan organisation working across the UK. 

ABOUT DEMOCRACY CLASSROOM 

Democracy Classroom is a partnership between over 100 civil society organisations that supports young people to engage in elections and democracy. The network supports collaboration through newsletters, training, meet up’s and an annual conference, as well as providing resources and training for teachers and youth practitioners. Democracy Classroom pools the collective support of the sector through the Democracy Classroom platform, where teachers and youth workers can access the collective support of the membership. 

Following the recent General Election, the network has experienced growth and is now preparing to support upcoming elections, votes at 16 and new developments such as changes to democratic education and the curriculum review. The network is non-partisan and works across all 4 nations in the UK. 

The aims of the network include: 

Increasing the number of young people engaging with democracy and elections.

Increasing the number of teachers and youth workers delivering democratic education, and strengthening their capacity to deliver impactful democratic engagement and voter registration activities in schools, colleges and youth settings across the UK.

Improving coordination between organisations engaging young people across the youth, education and democracy sectors, through growing the Democracy Classroom network.

ABOUT THE ROLE

To achieve the above, the post holder will:

• Support, build and manage relationships with over 100 civil society partner organisations.
• Manage the day-to-day running of the network, including the network's communications and databases.
• Coordinate the sharing of learning materials, working with teachers and youth workers to organise, map and curate content that supports democratic and election education.
• Oversee the Democracy Classroom website / platform. 
• Train and support teachers and youth workers to deliver democratic education materials. 
• Oversee our #ElectionCountdown programme during UK local, devolved and national elections and the associated comms campaigns. 
• Line manage the Democracy Classroom programme coordinator and manage relationships with freelance teachers, youth workers and designers.
• Oversee evaluation and monitoring, producing reports where required.

The job is a fixed term 12-month contract (including a 6-month probation period), with possible extension depending on the electoral calendar. 

The Politics Project is based in London, and the post holder will be expected to work from the office at least two days a week. The hours of work are 37.5 hrs per week. Occasional travel to elsewhere in the UK and working unsocial hours in evenings and at weekends may be required. This is a fast-paced role in a small but growing team.

Over ten million people in the UK are now ‘overindebted’, meaning they are behind on bills or are finding their debt repayments a heavy financial burden. The crisis has been growing over the last decade but has increased dramatically because of the pandemic and the cost-of-living crisis. More and more people are now borrowing to cover bills and essentials.

Our campaign combines community organising with national level campaigning and advocacy work to bring the voices of those most affected by the debt crisis to the fore in debates on policy solutions. You will use your policy and campaigning expertise to help ensure the people most impacted by problem household debt have a say in influencing the policies that affect them. You will work on issues such as the growth in council tax debt and bailiff use, the huge build up in energy debt as a result of the cost of living crisis and making insolvency policy and practice fairer and more accessible so more people can get out of debt.

You will be a key member of our household debt project team, working alongside the Head of Campaigns, Head of Policy and Advocacy, Digital Campaigner and Lead  Organiser.

We are looking for someone with great policy analysis and advocacy skills, a strong campaigning mindset, and a passion for social justice. We are not expecting you to already be an expert in all aspects of the role or in household debt policy but are looking for someone with the potential to develop quickly. Crucially, you will also need to appreciate why taking a community organising approach and building the power of people affected by debt is important, though you do not need to have experience in community organising.

This role will require some evening and weekend working, though this will be infrequent.

Based within the College Centre for Quality Improvement, the Prescribing Observatory for Mental Health (POMH) supports specialist mental health services across the UK to improve the safety and effectiveness of their prescribing practice. We run audit-based quality improvement programmes on specific topics within mental prescribing, providing services with customised reports that benchmark their performance against evidenced-based standards.

You will have a keen interest in data analytics and quality improvement in patient care. Experience of using SPSS or similar software for statistical and data analysis is essential. You will have experience of project management, audit and/or research. You will also have an exceptional eye for detail and have excellent organisational, report writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities include overseeing project plans, supervising staff in data cleaning and analysis of large datasets, production of national reports to deadline, assisting with the design of data collection tools, liaising with healthcare professionals, and organising events (e.g. webinars).

Role Summary

The role will support the Development team to successfully raise over £3.5 million annually through fundraising, in addition to a concurrent £19.25m capital campaign. The successful candidate will efficiently manage the day to day running of The Old Vic’s individual giving scheme, reporting to the Head of Individual Giving and working with the Individual Giving Officer to implement and carry out a yearly strategic plan to retain and increase support across all levels of Membership and wider areas of giving.

Areas of responsibility

Individual Giving

• Contribute to developing a strategic plan for individual giving including Membership, small to medium sized donations across all giving channels.
• Assume responsibility for The Old Vic’s philanthropic individual giving Membership scheme, OV Together.
• Retain and increase support by delivering excellent stewardship, including delivery of benefits and events, and communication with donors.
• Generate and convert new donor prospects in order to meet and exceed agreed annual individual giving targets of c. £1.25 million to contribute to the overall Development team target.
• Line manage the Individual Giving Officer, monitoring key performance indicators and objectives to ensure that targets are met.

Administration

• Oversee lists and draft communications going out to individual supporters including season announcements, updates and invitations and segmenting mailing lists when necessary.
• Oversee ticket bookings and catering reservations for supporters and to innovate time-saving new processes for automating bookings and reservations.
• Ensure Membership collateral is regularly updated to deadlines.
• Ensure database records are updated with donations, research notes, Memberships and event attendance.
• Monitor progress against targets, ensuring fundraising costs stay within budgeted expenditure and Gift Aid restrictions.
• Devise and with input from the Events team maintain a system for accurately logging and tracking costs incurred for delivering Membership benefits in line with HMRC and Gift Aid guidelines.
• Ensure that all data complies with procedures for data integrity (e.g. Gift Aid, GDPR and PCI compliance).
• Oversee the processing of monthly and annual Direct Debits by the Individual Giving Officer.
• Support the administration of the American Associates of The Old Vic membership.

Prospecting and New Support

• Identify new routes, channels and audiences to promote other ways of giving amongst existing Old Vic contacts, our database and new prospects.
• Innovate and implement new fundraising projects, such as Tap to Donate scheme, and creating supporting documents (e.g. case for support and rebrand of membership scheme).
• Use data analysis to track Membership trends and prospecting, with support from the Individual Giving Officer, to inform strategy and cultivation efforts for upgrading and recruitment.
• Identify opportunities to further develop relationships with our existing supporters (e.g. cross-sell) and feeding this into strategic plans for Individual Giving.
• Support the Senior Development Operations Manager on the maintenance of a team-wide prospect tracking system and help monitor the solicitation process.

General

• To ensure The Old Vic’s programmes, website and social media are regularly updated with Development information and liaise with Marketing as appropriate in achieving these tasks.
