Are you an experienced paid digital expert who is also passionate about nature? We're looking for someone to join our membership marketing team and deliver income-generating recruitment campaigns.
You will have proven expertise of managing the delivery of paid search, social and display advertising using a range of targeting techniques including macro demographic and internet-based targeting, as well as micro audience segmentation-based targeting and re targeting techniques. The ADSHG is a well-established UK charity supporting people with Addison’s and adrenal insufficiency through its website, social media reach and member services. Addison’s disease is a form of adrenal insufficiency and is a rare endocrine condition affecting 1:10,000, and both genders. Whilst treatable with time-critical daily medication, individuals with adrenal insufficiency are at risk of potentially life-threatening adrenal crisis, which occurs when physical or emotional triggers mean that prescribed medication no longer meets the body’s need for cortisol. Adrenal crisis is a medical emergency and can be life-threatening if not diagnosed and treated in a short period of time. Addison's and adrenal insufficiency are not widely understood, even within the medical community.

Our social media reach has grown steadily over the years, and, thanks to thoughtful content promoting audience engagement, it currently stands at a reach of over 31,000 across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and X and with a growing reach on BlueSky. The Role
The Media Manager plays a central role at our charity, working closely with the Head of Media and Media Officer to manage the public relations function. You will be responsible for helping to develop and execute national and regional media campaigns to help people better understand our mission and motivate support.
The role is a hybrid of office and home working, requiring occasional meetings in the midlands and/or London. The frequency and location of meetings can be flexible, depending on the location and preferences of the successful candidate.
Main duties include:
• Generate regular, positive, proactive and reactive media coverage for the charity
• Proactively sell stories into the media as well as react to incoming enquiries
• Work with the Head of Media to develop and deliver impactful PR strategies
• Manage, develop and support the Media and Communications Officer
• Gather new NHS staff, member and supporter case studies
• Identify and develop high quality media pitches
• Build positive working relationships with target journalists
• Monitor and evaluate media coverage
• Develop and maintain a good working knowledge of the issues affecting the NHS
• Support liaison with DHSC and other stakeholder relationships
About You
You will have experience of leading successful media relations strategies, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. You will be creative and passionate about delivering impactful work, with the ability to be highly organised and manage your own workload.
You will have experience of:
• Developing and implementing media strategies for a high-profile organisation.
• Successfully pitching to and building relationships with national, regional and sector journalists.
• Reactive media management for an organisation in the public eye.
